It was a gift from a friend. I had been curious about it for a while, but whenever I was in the mood for something sweet, I would end up getting cake. It was my first time trying it, and I was so happy with my friend's taste and thoughtfulness. Since my whole family was at home, we cut it up and each had our favorite flavors. I had mango, mix, and strawberry. Even though it was the day after I received it, it didn't dry out at all. The skin was soft and the sweet cream, white bean paste, and slightly sour fruits made a delicious combination. The cream had a strong flavor, so the white bean paste played a supporting role. The mango was perfectly ripe, making it sweet overall, and the mix had small fruits, but personally, I still think the strawberry daifuku was the best. We finished it in no time. It was delicious. We used a knife to cut it, but it didn't come out neatly. I read a review that said using thread to cut it makes it cleaner, so I'll have to try that next time. The orange seems to have a good flavor balance, so I'd like to try it next time. Thank you for the lovely gift.

This is a Japanese confectionery shop located in Seibu Ikebukuro. The main store is in Gion, Kyoto. I bought the "Gion Pocchiri," a popular item available year-round, without knowing what kind of daifuku it was from the photo. It was filled with a variety of fruits such as strawberries, blueberries, bananas, grapes, and even chestnuts! The mochi was soft and delicious. I also purchased the limited edition "Mango Daifuku," which had a large piece of mango inside. I love fruit daifuku and this shop might be my favorite for them!

"Ninigi" is a store in the Depachika of Seibu Ikebukuro, which also has a branch in Akabane station. The store is known for its popular fruit daifuku, but it also offers a variety of traditional Japanese sweets. I tried the "King's Strawberry Daifuku" and the "Pineapple Daifuku," both of which were delicious. Additionally, I had the "Kuge Nikki" monaka and the "Soyakate" dorayaki, both of which were meticulously crafted and flavorful. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience at this store.

I bought the scented chocolate cream puff, but instead of the chocolate flavor, the prominent taste was more of yuzu!? The acidity of the yuzu was too strong, and it was different from what I had imagined, leaving me feeling disappointed. Personally, I felt that the balance was off, and honestly, I didn't find it delicious. Thank you for the meal.

There is a shop on the basement floor of Seibu Ikebukuro Main Store that sells fruit daifuku. I stopped by and bought some as souvenirs because they looked delicious and beautiful. Since they use fresh fruits, the expiration date is about 1-2 days, so it's best to eat them soon. There are several types of fruit daifuku available, but this time I purchased two kinds: "King Strawberry Daifuku" and "Adult Chestnut Daifuku". The "King Strawberry Daifuku" is the most popular, with a sweet and sour strawberry filling, white bean paste, and whipped cream combination that was amazing. The "Adult Chestnut Daifuku" has a brandy-flavored chestnut filling, white bean paste, and whipped cream which made it a delicious adult dessert. This shop is recommended for both personal consumption and souvenirs. Please try it out.

I was shopping at the neighboring store when I saw this fruit-filled treat and decided to buy it. ◆ Gion Pocchiri ¥430 "Pocchiri" refers to the obi clip worn by maiko (apprentice geisha). These are often passed down through generations in the okiya (geisha house) and are now difficult to make. They are highly valued and precious, with the saying "protect the pocchiri when you fall." "Gion Pocchiri" is a luxurious daifuku (rice cake) inspired by the colorful pocchiri, filled with strawberries, grapes, chestnuts, bananas, and blueberries, wrapped in rich whipped cream and sweet-sour amaou strawberry paste. The strawberries, bananas, grapes, and chestnuts were delicious, and the strawberry paste was exceptionally tasty.

When having a party at home with friends, they brought something that was so tasteful! The fruits were not just fruits but "kami-mi" which is intriguing, and the word "ninigi" also caught my attention. In Kyoto, it seems that having a light meal or sweet snack to satisfy your hunger is called "mushiya shinai," which I've never heard of so I can't imagine the pronunciation. The main store in Gion, "Ninigi," offers a variety of "mushiosae" that you'll want to eat when your stomach growls, as stated on their website. The stylish box contains "House Mikan no Fuku," "Gion Pochiri," and "Strawberry no Fuku," which is the perfect lineup! I was wondering how to cut it, but the instructions said to cut it with a string, so I tried cutting it with a long string and the cutting sensation was so fun! It was quite difficult to cut the mixed one. Inside, there was white bean paste and coarse bean paste, and no matter which one you ate, there was a gentle sweetness that didn't clash with the fruits, wrapped in a mochi-like skin similar to Yukimi Daifuku, enveloping you in happiness. The appearance is beautiful and makes you want to take lots of photos of this wonderful "kami-mi"! Visit my blog for more details.

It seems to be a shop specializing in fruit daifuku in Kyoto. While shopping at Seibu Ikebukuro, I saw a colorful lineup of fruit daifuku and decided to buy some. I purchased ■Strained sweet bean paste strawberry (370 yen + tax) ■Whipped cream strawberry (370 yen + tax) ■Sakura mochi (220 yen + tax). I ate them in the car, so unfortunately I don't have a photo of the cross section, but the strawberry daifuku was very delicious with a high sugar content in the strawberries. They use high-quality strawberries from Fukuoka prefecture. I realized once again that the fruit inside the fruit daifuku is very important for its taste. The sweet bean paste was also elegant and not too sweet, with a good balance with the strawberries. The whipped cream strawberry daifuku that my daughter ate is a limited-time product with condensed milk in the milk bean paste. The sakura mochi uses mochi rice flour. It was chewy and sticky. The moderate sweetness of the bean paste, along with the saltiness of the sakura leaf, served as a good accent, and it was also delicious. (April 2022)

I received these adorable strawberry daifuku as a gift during work! There were four palm-sized strawberry daifuku in the package! I opened it with excitement and the packaging was so cute! It's a gift that will surely make someone happy. There were instructions on how to enjoy them, suggesting to take them out of the fridge 5-10 minutes before eating. I followed the instructions and tried them! While you could eat them as they are, cutting them in the middle with a string revealed a beautiful cross-section! The white bean paste and whipped cream were not too sweet, and the strawberry's tartness was less than other daifuku I've had before. It was a delicious and happy snack time! Thank you for the treat! \(//∇//)\

It seems like a famous shop for fruit daifuku, but I bought a combination of dorayaki that can last long as a souvenir. I brought a combination of dorayaki with chestnut flavor back home for a visit to my parents' house, so I tried it myself. The dorayaki with black sugar soaked in the dough had a unique taste compared to regular dorayaki. The dough was very moist. The chestnut dorayaki had plenty of chestnut paste, but I occasionally felt solid chunks. The chestnuts were tender. Personally, I really liked the impactful and delicious black sugar dorayaki from Soyakate.

I found a booth specializing in fruit daifuku at Seibu Ikebukuro, and it looked delicious. I bought some as a souvenir for my friend's house and also for myself. The daifuku with chestnut was 410 yen each. It had a soft and chewy mochi with a large candied chestnut and red bean paste inside. It was a bit big to eat in one bite, so I cut it in half to take a picture of the cross-section. The mochi wasn't too thick and melted gently in my mouth. The sweetness was more from the chestnut. It was a delicious daifuku where you could enjoy the taste of chestnut. During this season, they also have Shine Muscat fruit and various chestnut variations, so you can enjoy autumn flavors. Thank you for the meal.

Kakino Fuku / Kaki no Fuku ☑︎ 185 kcal per 100g
I found out that I can reserve Kakino Fuku at the popular store because they always sell out at night. I was relieved to see that it doesn't contain cream, as I expected. Inside the skin, there is a combination of persimmon and white bean paste. The dough is thick, fluffy, and slightly sweet, without any unpleasant hardness. The persimmon lacks freshness, juiciness, and sweetness, it's not quite ripe enough to eat yet. The white bean paste is smooth and not overly sweet, making it a good balance when paired with fruit.

Ichigo Daifuku season has arrived, and I tried the "Ousama Ichigo no Fuku" at Kajitsu no Fuku in Seibu Ikebukuro. The unique feature of their Daifuku is that they use fresh fruits with white bean paste and whipped cream instead of red bean paste. The strawberry was placed sideways, and it was a vibrant red color, most likely Amaou variety. The balance of whipped cream and white bean paste was perfect, complemented by the sweet and tangy flavor of the ripe strawberry. The Daifuku was large and soft, with a delightful chewy texture. The Amaou strawberry had a slightly crunchy texture, adding to the overall experience. Overall, it was a delicious treat that was easy to eat.

I visited the store called "Nininoki" in Gion, Kyoto, known for their seasonal fruit daifuku called "Fruitful Fortune." I found out they have a branch in the Depachika of Seibu Ikebukuro and decided to try it out (reviewed on Tabelog with a rating of 3.05). I bought four pieces of the King Strawberry Fortune for 357 yen each and four pieces of the Grape Paradise Fortune for the same price. I immediately tried the King Strawberry Fortune at home. When I cut it in half, I found a large strawberry, white bean paste, and cream in three layers. The strawberry's acidity spread throughout my mouth, surprisingly refreshing and delicious. However, I was a bit disappointed that the taste of the cream was overpowering, making it hard to taste the renowned white bean paste. On the other hand, the Grape Paradise Fortune lacked the distinct grape flavor due to the cream and white bean paste. Personally, I found both flavors delicious, but the King Strawberry Fortune stood out more with its sweet and sour strawberry taste. Overall, it was a satisfying experience.

This is the Kiwi Fuku. I'm slowly but surely working my way through all the different flavors. There are so many new flavors coming out one after another. The size is big and satisfying, so I can't eat two or three at once and they don't keep well, so I can't buy a lot at once. The cross-section was nice, haha. It had sweet and delicious kiwi inside. The white bean paste wasn't too sweet and not too heavy, so it was nice. Next, before it runs out, I'll try the chestnut Fuku. By the way, I can't help but be curious about walnut chocolate, haha.

It's been a while since I had Inanoki's Daifuku! It's delicious and I like it, but the price is a bit high so I can't buy it casually. I tried it. There were two types, one with whipped cream and white bean paste, and the other with red bean paste. Of course, the kids preferred the Daifuku with whipped cream. The filling was delicious, but I especially liked the softness of the mochi. It melts in your mouth. The only downside is that it might be a bit difficult for a 3-year-old to eat. For adults, it's easy to open and eat because there are dots on the package. Either way, Inanoki's Daifuku was delicious after a long time!

I bought a lot of traditional Japanese sweets at another store, so this time at Ninkin, I happened to see a snack called "Kurumi no" and bought one. It's a pastry-like dough with walnut paste inside, a classic flavor that you can find in various prefectures as a local souvenir. It was just delicious, a bit too ordinary maybe. I regretted not getting a daifuku instead. Next time, let's go buy some daifuku.

Founded in 2010 in Gion, Kyoto, the traditional Japanese confectionery shop "Ninigi" has expanded to over 10 locations nationwide. The "Kami no Fuku" shop at Seibu Ikebukuro's main store is a new fruit daifuku specialty store. It was developed in collaboration with the long-established fruit and vegetable store "Tsukiji Teimatsu."
[Access] Located on the basement floor of Seibu Ikebukuro main store.
[Storefront] The showcase displays four varieties of daifuku: strawberry, mandarin orange, chestnut, and a combination of strawberry, chestnut, and banana. They also offer warabi mochi and walnut paste (walnut paste wrapped in pie dough).
[King's Strawberry Daifuku (389 yen)] The most popular daifuku, made with ripe strawberries, whipped cream, and white bean paste. The white bean paste is made from Hokkaido's leading azuki beans, sugar, and starch syrup. The strawberry variety may change depending on the season. The daifuku is palm-sized, with a thin, soft texture. The acidity of the strawberries complements the mildly sweet cream and smooth white bean paste. The name may sound grand, but it does have a different Western touch compared to traditional strawberry daifuku.
[Service] Due to the use of fresh fruit, the shelf life is around 1-2 days. They do not offer shipping to other regions.
[Cost-Performance] The price is on the higher side when considering it as one daifuku. It may not be the best in terms of cost-performance.
[Overall Impression] A fusion of fruit and daifuku. It may be well-received even by those who are not fond of overly sweet treats. The colorful packaging makes it a great choice for gifts.

*Waiting time* None *Order & Price* Fruit Daifuku for 378 yen *Atmosphere* Located inside the station. *Service* Average. *Impression* The seedless muscat grapes are big and delicious. The chestnut is large. The yellow candied fruit in the jar is sweet. The bananas were quite ripe. The rice cake is soft and slightly sweet. The white bean paste and cream transform the daifuku into a fluffy texture. *Expectations* Overall, there is a moderate sweetness which makes it enjoyable for children as well. I would like to try sour fruits next time, such as kiwi or mandarin oranges.
