I met up with a friend after a long time and we went drinking in Shinjuku. The izakaya we went to, located underground, was bustling with people. My friend had made a reservation for us, and we tried their signature dish called "Uni ON THE Nitamago," which is uni served on a spoon with a boiled egg, making it easy to eat in one bite. It's a combination that I see often these days, but it was delicious. The assorted sashimi platter had fresh honmaguro from Misaki Port. The delicious chutoro was exceptional, truly showing the quality of the fish being directly sourced from the fishing port. The sweet simmered pork from Osawa Farm was tender and flavorful, with the taste seeping into the daikon radish. The charcoal-grilled Miyazaki Hinata chicken thigh and breast were cooked in two different ways, and the aroma of the charcoal was delightful. The chicken meatball with cartilage had a nice chewy texture, and the sweet and savory sauce was delicious. The ikura rice, which I wanted to have as a finale, was so tasty that I ended up finishing it despite being full. The course was quite fulfilling with a premium all-you-can-drink option that included "Chita" whiskey, which I thought was a great deal. The atmosphere of the restaurant was calm and relaxing, allowing us to unwind and enjoy our time.

I met with a friend I hadn't seen in a while and we were a party of two. It was my first time visiting the restaurant as I wanted to enjoy delicious Japanese cuisine and sake. It was the perfect choice! The atmosphere was calming with a traditional Japanese feel, and the quality was high, making it suitable for various occasions. The counter seats had partitions, creating a semi-private atmosphere where we could enjoy our conversation leisurely. I recommend the counter seats for couples as well! The staff were all young, quick, and polite, making it a comfortable place to be. We reserved the "Kai-Yama Zai Zawa Kan Noh Cozumel" course with all-you-can-drink for 4980 yen + 1890 yen = 6870 yen, but it was discounted to 6000 yen. The luxurious indulgence course is highly recommended. It had a good balance of fish and meat, and the portion was just right. I suggest adding the "Premium All-You-Can-Drink +1500 yen" for those who love sake. They have premium sake like Dassai and Yauyamashan, and even Chita whiskey, which adds to the value. Some of the dishes that stood out were: - Uni on the simmered egg: A bite-sized delight with sea urchin and salmon roe on a simmered egg. A perfect combination in your mouth. A must-try. - Assorted sashimi (six varieties): Surprisingly high-quality and fresh sashimi. The medium fatty tuna and amberjack were outstanding. I paired it with Dassai sake. - Oosawa Ranch pork simmered: A heartwarming dish with perfectly simmered pork. - Salmon and jumbo shrimp salt-grilled: The salmon's deliciousness was brought out well, and the shrimp had a great aroma. - Assorted charcoal-grilled skewers (tsukune, thigh, breast): All were delicious, but my favorite was the charcoal-grilled Miyazaki Hinata chicken thigh. It was juicy and delicious. Grilling chicken over charcoal really enhances its flavor. Simple seasoning was also a plus. - Ikura rice: Plenty of salmon roe on rice. The texture of the rice complemented the salmon roe well, making it a perfect finale. As for sake, I tried Dassai (Yamaguchi) Junmai Daiginjo, which had a fragrant and elegant taste, and Kuzuryu (Fukui) Itteki, which had a refreshing flavor. I wanted to try more, but I had to stop before getting too drunk. I'll save it for next time. The cozy atmosphere was so inviting that I will definitely visit again.

The food was delicious for an izakaya, and the interior of the restaurant was clean. Three women spent about 20,000 yen drinking for three hours. The grilled rice ball with salmon roe was the most delicious. If you get lost in Shinjuku, I would like to use this restaurant again.

We made a reservation for two people and were seated at a table instead of the counter seats as planned. We toasted with soft drinks. We had a sashimi platter, potato salad, grilled chicken breast and thigh, asparagus wrapped in cheese and ham, and stone oven ice cream. The meat was thick and satisfying. Overall, the experience was neither outstanding nor disappointing. Thank you for the meal.

I attended a social gathering with company associates for the first time. The cost performance of the course menu is hard to judge, but the taste of the dishes is average. The drink menu for all-you-can-drink is also standard. The good points are the atmosphere inside the restaurant and the prompt response of the staff to orders.

A Japanese restaurant located about a 10-minute walk from Shinjuku Station. The place was bustling when I visited. It seems to be a popular spot. I ordered bonito carpaccio, asparagus ham and cheese rolls, yuba mixed with ikura and sea urchin, assorted yakitori, beef wrapped in sea urchin, and flavored egg beef hot pot. Everything was delicious except for the bonito carpaccio, which was disappointing.

It was my first time visiting, but the atmosphere inside the restaurant was very calming and easy to drink in. The dishes were creative and ordering was enjoyable, so there was excitement leading up to the meal being served. In particular, the Overflowing Sparkling drink had a fantastic visual effect!

I heard that you can enjoy natural bluefin tuna at a restaurant located 3 minutes from Shinjuku Station West Exit. The seafood counter is perfect for couples to enjoy a luxurious seafood platter with 6 types of fresh fish directly delivered from Misaki Port: natural bluefin tuna, medium fatty tuna, red tuna, salmon, yellowtail, scallop, and sea bream. The thick slices of natural bluefin tuna provide a satisfying bite of happiness. Indulge in premium uni and melt-in-your-mouth black wagyu beef, along with uni and ikura, yuba and uni, and plenty of wasabi-flavored grated yam. I had the opportunity to enjoy rare Japanese sake that pairs well with Japanese cuisine. The charcoal-grilled Hinata chicken, Kyushu chicken thigh and breast assortment, grilled vegetables, asparagus wrapped in cream cheese and ham, and steamed clams and rapeseed flowers in sake broth were all delicious. The meal ended with grilled rice balls. The restaurant offers counter seating and private rooms, and is located at Nishi-Shinjuku 7-9-13 Ishikawa Building B1F, a 3-minute walk from JR Shinjuku Station West Exit. Operating hours are from 16:00 to 24:00 (last order at 23:30), and they accept credit cards, electronic money, and QR payments. An appetizer is available for 440 yen, and reservations for courses are not required. The restaurant has 52 seats, private rooms, and is available for private parties. The entire restaurant is non-smoking and offers English menus. Children are welcome.

I enjoyed a course with all-you-can-drink for 5,500 yen. The restaurant was described as having private rooms, but it felt more like sections shifted vertically like a raft. The food was all delicious. The drink menu may have been a bit lacking.

Let's stop by for a light meal with friends. We sat at the counter seats where there were panels on both sides, creating a private box-like space. It was nice not to be bothered by the people next to us. We started with a sashimi platter, all of which were delicious with a nice fatty texture and freshness. The grated wasabi on nagaimo (Japanese yam) was aromatic and added a nice texture to the dish. We couldn't stop eating. Next, we ordered the seared stingray fin, which was undeniably tasty. The roast beef potato salad was a perfect combination of tender roast beef and potatoes. The yuba (tofu skin) with sea urchin and salmon roe was simply delicious. The charcoal-grilled Hinata-jidori chicken was juicy, tender, and flavorful. Kyushu's local chicken is truly delicious. Lastly, we had the grilled rice balls, which were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, served hot. There was a good selection of sake as well, making it a great choice for sake lovers. The restaurant is conveniently located near Shinjuku Station, within walking distance. The staff was friendly and provided attentive service, creating a pleasant atmosphere. In addition to counter seats, there are also box seats, making it a great choice for friends to dine together. It's recommended to make a reservation in advance!

I arrived at the restaurant 30 minutes before the last order, but the food was served quickly. By the time I wanted to order dessert, the last order had already ended, but they kindly offered to bring it to me after my meal. All the dishes were delicious.

I visited the restaurant shortly before February 2023. The place was almost full when I arrived, even though I had made a reservation. I had the impression from looking at Tabelog that it was an izakaya with private rooms, but since I made a last-minute reservation, we didn't get a private room. It turned out to be more lively and casual than I expected. We ordered various dishes including sashimi, and everything was tasty, although not exceptionally so. It's not amazing, but I think it's a good place for a casual drinking party.

The restaurant had a nice atmosphere so we went on a date there. However, there were a few disappointing points aside from the taste of the food. The soy sauce dish and stone pot were a bit too formal for me. The à la carte meal cost around 20,000 yen for two people in about 3 hours, which left a high impression.

#Christmas Dinner at Kuu in Shinjuku, a Japanese creative cuisine izakaya. The ikura don was so delicious, even though it didn't feel very Christmassy. I used this restaurant for a girls' night out. The area around Shinjuku Nishiguchi is not an area I often visit, but it was very accessible from the station and I was surprised to find a nice Japanese restaurant there. We had a seafood course and all the dishes were delicious and generous in portion size. The service was polite and I was very satisfied. The atmosphere is also nice and they have private rooms, so I would like to come back next time to relax on my own.

Creative and food izakaya, cheers with friends ~ There are many affordable chain restaurants around here, but we found a good restaurant. It had a hidden gem-like atmosphere in the underground. There were semi-private box seats, but we chose a table seat. The prices were reasonable and the food was delicious. The roast beef potato salad was a meat lover's dream with a generous amount of roast beef, and it was delicious. The grated yam with wasabi had a great texture and flavor, making the drinks disappear quickly. The stingray fin with plenty of mayo and spice was delightful. The specialty beef and sea urchin dish was a luxurious treat with the aroma of beef fat and the richness of sea urchin. The charcoal-grilled dishes and local chicken were good, but the grilled stingray fin was exceptional. The white flesh was fluffy and had no fishy smell, and the seasoning was perfect. We were drinking sake that day, but the rice was outstanding. The rice cooked in a clay pot had firm grains, making us appreciate being Japanese. The saltiness of the salmon roe was irresistible. For dessert, we enjoyed a hot stone bowl with French bread and vanilla ice cream, experiencing the contrasting flavors of hot and cold. There were various types of sake available, making it a great place for sake lovers. The interior had a unique layout with raised seating areas and hidden spots, making it suitable for dates or small gatherings.

This is a restaurant in Nishi-Shinjuku, within walking distance from Shinjuku Station, serving creative Japanese cuisine. A friend who requested Japanese food made a reservation for us. There are various types of seating available, making it convenient for different occasions. Located underground with slightly dim lighting, it's great for a cozy atmosphere when you want to relax. We started with a toast with beer, perfect for the still chilly season. We ordered some dishes a la carte. I was craving meat, so I went straight for the roast beef potato salad, which was nostalgic with tender roast beef on top. Pairing it with mayonnaise potato salad was pure bliss. The wagyu beef and sea urchin dish was another luxurious treat that brought a smile to my face. The sashimi platter featured tuna, both lean and fatty cuts, and fresh scallops with a crisp texture and sweet aftertaste. It paired well with sake. The grilled chicken platter had both breast and thigh meat, with a rich flavor from being cooked over charcoal. I like mine with plenty of yuzu pepper. For the finale, we had salmon roe rice, with popping salmon roe on top of fragrant rice cooked in a pot. Even though we were full, we couldn't resist ordering a dessert that caught our eye: homemade matcha and tofu tiramisu. It had a subtle tofu flavor but was smooth and refreshing. The restaurant got quite busy towards the end of our stay, but the staff were attentive, constantly changing our plates and ensuring we had a comfortable dining experience at our spacious table. I would love to revisit this place with friends who enjoy Japanese sake.

I used this restaurant for a group dinner due to work. It has a cozy atmosphere, and the service staff worked very hard. Thank you. The course was around 6600 yen, and although the portions were a bit large, the quality was lacking... we ended up leaving a lot of food uneaten... Overall, it's disappointing given the high ratings on Tabelog. I hope they improve in the future! Thank you.

I had reserved a special seat in the back that seemed like a semi-private room, which was nice. However, the female waitress made a lot of noise when placing items, didn't bother to align the chopsticks, and served Kanpachi as Buri (I noticed). The sashimi was dry and not fresh, the crab miso yaki was so bad that even Yukki couldn't eat it, the halas was cooked poorly, and the whole onion foil bake was undercooked and not sweet. Overall, it was a terrible dining experience with nothing delicious to mention.

WASO Saku Ku - Nishi Shinjuku Address: Ishikawa Building B1F, 7-9-13 Nishi-Shinjuku, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, 03-5348-9799 Website: https://wasousakukuu.official.ec/ Located in Nishi-Shinjuku, this restaurant offers a mix of traditional and modern Japanese cuisine along with a variety of Japanese sake. They are open on Sundays and you can start drinking from 4 pm. The dishes featuring sea urchin and salmon roe are popular here. I recommend trying the roast beef potato salad first. The salad has bits of smoked herring inside, which adds a nice touch. The beef with sea urchin and onsen egg is a specialty of the restaurant. The sashimi platter with 6 types of fish was all thickly sliced, with the medium fatty tuna being particularly delicious. The crab miso was mixed with crab meat and served on a baguette. The grilled mackerel had the perfect amount of salt, while the charcoal-grilled pork was juicy and well-cooked. My dining partner, who loves salmon roe, ordered the salmon roe rice in a pot, which had a generous amount of roe. We also enjoyed a creamy creme brulee for dessert. The restaurant offers a wide selection of Japanese sake at reasonable prices. I tried the Ho-oh Mita and Kokuryu, both of which were delicious, but I preferred the Ho-oh Mita. Payment can be made in cash, credit card, or transportation IC card. We had a leisurely meal and left feeling satisfied. Today, our stomachs are full. Items Consumed: - Chilled eggplant appetizer: 440 yen - Roast beef potato salad: 680 yen - Bite-sized happiness: beef with sea urchin: 530 yen - Uni onsen egg: 380 yen - Assorted 6 types of sashimi: 980 yen per person - Crab miso in shell: 780 yen - Half a grilled mackerel: 830 yen - Charcoal-grilled pork from Oosawa Farm: 880 yen - Salmon roe rice in a pot: 1280 yen - Creme brulee: 480 yen - Kirin Ichiban Shibori draft beer: 580 yen - Ho-oh Mita sake (1 cup): 780 yen - Kokuryu sake (1 cup): 980 yen Atmosphere: The restaurant has a calm and modern Japanese ambiance with jazz music playing in the background. They offer table seating and semi-private rooms, with an interesting raised seating area on the second floor. Directions: The closest station is Seibu Nishi-Shinjuku, but it is also a 3-minute walk from Shinjuku Station West Exit. Exit the west gate and walk straight ahead, cross the large intersection, then turn left at the next traffic light. The restaurant is located in the basement of the building on the left. Enjoy a relaxing time in Nishi-Shinjuku at WASO Saku Ku!
