I came to Tsutadon in Ikebukuro for the first time in six months. I always used to come on weekends, but it was always full so I gave up. This time, I came on a weekday after 3 PM and was able to get in without any problems. I bought a ticket for the limited menu item "Stamina Yakimeshi (regular size, tax included 780 yen)" that was posted at the entrance. It arrived in about 5 minutes after ordering. It looked like a slightly small portion, but once I finished eating, it was actually a sufficient amount. The fried rice had a strong garlic flavor, with plenty of chopped garlic on top, making it probably the strongest garlic-flavored fried rice I've ever had (laughs). It was filled with chunks of pork inside, giving it more substance than it appeared. Mixing in the warm egg that comes on a small plate adds even more stamina. It becomes smoother, but the garlic flavor doesn't change much (laughs). It was just delicious. For garlic lovers, it's truly unbeatable, the legendary Tsutadon restaurant.

Ikebukuro weekday lunch series. Today, I didn't have any particular place in mind and was just strolling around when I noticed a sign at this restaurant saying it was Meat Day. I visited and was able to be seated right away, even though it was before 12 o'clock. However, when I left, there was a long line of customers buying meal tickets. I ordered the popular beef bowl. It was Meat Day, so the portion of meat was 1.5 times bigger. It had a strong garlic flavor, and the raw egg added a nice touch to the taste. It reminded me of when I ate at this place in Kokubunji and Kunitachi before it became a chain. Thank you for the meal.

Today's special was a free ginger pork bowl. I visited on Tuesday, August 15th at 7:00 pm, and the seating rate was about 30%. It was the last day of the Obon holiday, and it was raining, so the restaurant was not crowded. I had accumulated 10 stamps on the G-Tour app, so today my ginger pork bowl was free, and it was also double stamps day because it was a day with the number 5. First, I showed the free coupon to the staff and they clicked the button to apply it. I bought a ticket for 3 pieces of fried chicken for 300 yen and handed it to the staff. I tried to stamp the card at the stamp machine next to the ticket machine, but it failed once and succeeded on the second try. The ginger pork bowl arrived in about 5 minutes, followed by the fried chicken. Both the ginger pork bowl and the fried chicken were delicious. Just a side note, in Shibuya, you have to clean up yourself, but in Ikebukuro, they take care of it for you because there is no return slot. Also, in Ikebukuro, they bring the ginger pork bowl to your table, while in Shibuya, it seems like you have to get it yourself. I recommend the G-Tour app. With 5 stamps, you get a free topping, with 10 stamps you get a free ginger pork bowl or stamina bowl, and on days with the number 5, you get double stamps.

Today's lunch was here. I've been to Denstu-ta a few times at other locations, but I always end up ordering extra rice. It used to be an additional 100 yen, but now it's 180 yen. The balance between the meat and rice is not good when you add extra rice, and the quality of the rice itself is not that great, so I always end up regretting it. I finally learned my lesson at this age. This time, I had the regular size Stamina Don for 730 yen with an additional 250 yen for meat. It came with a raw egg and miso soup by default. When I asked the staff about the amount of meat in the regular size, they seemed puzzled. After a moment of thought, they said it's about 100g in the regular size. I feel uneasy if they can't answer immediately. The extra meat is 1.5 times the regular amount. It was prepared fairly quickly. With the extra meat, the balance with the rice finally felt right. They claim it's a "regular size that inherits the founder's vision, equivalent to three bowls of rice" but isn't three bowls a bit exaggerated? The ingredients are mostly meat. A sprinkle of green onions for color. The meat has a subtle garlic flavor. I have a habit of adding a lot of free garlic at the table. This is stamina! If this was 980 yen, personally, I think it's better to just order two bowls of beef bowl from a major chain. Well, the preference between stir-fried or simmered meat can vary, and stir-fried meat goes better with garlic. Maybe because I added extra garlic with the extra meat, this time I felt a sense of satisfaction.

Today, I was drawn in by the double stamp day on days with a "5" and decided to have the "Suta-don" bowl. The stamp sheet seems to be separate for each store, but they are all stamped together. With a total of 9 stamps, one more stamp and I will get a free bowl of "Suta-don." I visited the restaurant on Thursday at 5:45 PM, and there were four other customers before me. I realized that this is my first comment for the Ikebukuro branch, even though I thought I had been coming here quite often. Today, I had the Stamina Karaage Assortment Set for 1030 yen. The food arrived in about 5 minutes. I remembered that the Ikebukuro branch doesn't use the system where they call out numbers and you have to pick up your order yourself. The karaage was delicious as always, and the Stamina Yaki was tasty too, making the rice go down easily. I think I'll come back for the Meat Day on the 29th for the free extra meat promotion and try to get 10 stamps by then.

I have been going to this restaurant since it opened, haha. I usually always get the extra rice bowl, but I was really curious about the W Hormone bowl so I went straight for it this time. It was around 5 pm in the evening. There were only 4 customers inside, so I got served quickly. However, there were a ton of delivery orders at the counter. This time, I didn't get the extra rice and just went for the regular portion. It felt like it had been years since I had the regular size. The hormone bowl had both beef and pork in it. The beef was fatty as expected, while the pork was light. The seasoning was a bit too strong, so ordering the soft-boiled egg was a good choice. In terms of cost performance, I'll stick to the extra rice bowl next time, haha.

Lunch at 5:00 pm. The restaurant is empty. The staff are very energetic as always. I replenish my tired body with nutrients. I enjoy the garlic power. I haven't had the classic "stamina bowl" in a while. The strong garlic smell is irresistible. I also like the soft texture of the green onions.

I found out that Nakano and Koenji's Sutadon no longer had the meat and vegetable stir-fry bowl, also known as the "Pikara Don." I thought it was removed from the official menu, but when I walked past the Ikebukuro store, I saw it still on the menu and decided to try it. It was still delicious, but personally, I prefer the regular Sutadon. However, I found that the salt was a bit concentrated in some parts, making it a bit salty. It had been about 10 years since I last had it, and I was satisfied with the meal.

I walked from Ikebukuro Station towards Sunshine City and found a legendary beef bowl restaurant called "Densetsu no Sutadon-ya Ikebukuro Store" located underground in a side street. Last time I came, it was full and I couldn't get in. This time, around 1:30 pm, there were some empty seats so I managed to get in. I bought a ticket for the "Sutadon (regular)" with extra meat (tax included 980 yen). The best thing about this place is definitely the extra garlic. Nowadays, many places have stopped providing condiments on the counter due to some idiots touching and licking them, but at Densetsu no Sutadon-ya, you can still put as much garlic as you want. Even though the dish already has a good amount of garlic, if you love garlic, you should definitely add more. In my opinion, the beef bowl with extra meat is recommended as the amount of rice and meat is just right. The original garlic soy sauce on the meat is delicious, and the rice soaked in it is even better. The chopped green onions add a nice texture, and the extra garlic mixed with raw egg makes the dish milder in terms of garlic smell. It's always delicious. I want to eat it every day, seriously. The beef bowl comes with miso soup, which cleanses your stomach before and after the meal. It was so tasty. I haven't been able to come to Tokyo often lately, so my visits have decreased, but if I have the chance, I would eat here as many times as I can.

Munch. "(Huh? The meat is dry and tough.)" This is probably imported frozen meat. The freezer burn is strong!! The umami of the meat is completely lost, and the sauce is so thick as if to cover it up. Well, it makes sense to make the sauce thicker. The amount of meat, 1.5 times, was enough to enjoy, but I'm getting tired of this dryness. I understand now why they provide a raw egg. It's to prevent dryness.

I couldn't feel the warmth of freshly made food, and the oiliness and strong flavor stood out too much. It was a bit difficult to finish it, but I couldn't waste the rice, so I ate it all. Honestly, I think the taste has deteriorated a bit. I might not go there for a while.

Limited menu, ordered Hokkaido's "Suta-don" with rich butter soy sauce, I'm weak when it comes to limited edition items. Also ordered "tonjiru" (pork miso soup). The tonjiru had plenty of ingredients but nothing particularly memorable, just a normal taste. The problem is, it's in Hokkaido...it's too delicious. Even the regular size portion is quite filling. The butter melts nicely and blends with the meat and rice. Even though I went alone, I couldn't help but mutter "Delicious!" Baby, I used to eat this a lot when I was a student. The harmony of the garlic-infused meat, egg yolk, and rice. It's definitely not as easy to finish as it was back in those days. Even me, at 31 years old working as a night-time Papa.

Today, I had decided to eat this no matter what. It weighed a total of 1.5 kilograms. I had even confidently declared it on Twitter, so there was no way I could leave it unfinished. The dish was called "Meat Tree Star Don" and cost 1,690 yen. I didn't have much time before the event started, but I really wanted to eat it. The restaurant was located right next to the entrance of the live house, and I managed to sneak in 5 minutes before the opening time. I could see the line of customers entering from inside the restaurant. It was a unique and exciting experience, but as expected, I later got recognized by other customers with a friendly laugh. But more importantly, let's talk about the Meat Tree Star Don. It was insane. Way more overwhelming than the picture. I was trying to mentally prepare myself to finish it all when suddenly, they casually added 4 huge pieces of fried chicken. Not the best thing to eat right before a live show (I realized how crazy that was after I started eating). Thanks to that, I was in a crazy meat-eating mode during the live performance.

I wanted some calories and ended up choosing this place over Johnny's. I went with the regular set meal. The rice was a bit on the salty side, but it was good. I don't like how the cabbage gets soaked in the meat juice. Even when I put dressing on it, it mixes in and if I take too long to eat, the juice seeps into the meat too. As usual, I tilt the plate to prevent that. I wonder if the customers here eat so fast. Other than the salty taste, everything is pretty normal, but the pickles are still delicious. Of course, it's not the kind of taste or atmosphere you would feed a child.

I entered the store because I heard they had a new dish, apparently a katsudon. I ordered it right away and tried it... Hmm, it's a little different from the typical katsudon... but it's good that there's no garlic in it. Without garlic, it wouldn't be a katsudon anymore. It's not bad if you think of it as a slightly different katsudon. However, it's not a taste that would be suitable for children. I think once is enough.

I was looking for a restaurant in Ikebukuro, but every place seemed so delicious that I couldn't decide. Just like how Yu Darvish might hesitate when throwing a changeup. That's when I came across our "Sutadon"! Next to it was a live house, and I could sense the excitement of men around. In a clean restaurant, I decided to try the food first! Since I planned to drink later, I prioritized the bar and settled for a mini Sutadon. But as a man, I needed extra meat. While waiting at the counter with proper COVID measures, the meat arrived with a perfect sear, tender and juicy, seasoned with garlic soy sauce. It was an ordinary dish, but somehow the taste was extraordinary. The addition of egg made it even more delicious. I couldn't resist such a unique flavor. It's easy to gain weight from eating too much, but I can't resist such delicious food. Even though Sunshine City is nearby, I still want to eat here because the taste is so captivating. Truly, I think this unique seasoning makes it incredibly delicious. I can't stop eating it, it's just too good. This Sutadon is perfect! See you later!
