It has been a while since I last visited Akihabara. I was unsure of what to eat, but a certain sign caught my eye, so I took the elevator down to the basement. I decided to have pork cutlet curry. They even served a raw egg on top as a bonus. It seemed to be Osaka-style, with a sweet and savory flavor. It was indeed sweet. I'm not a fan of spicy food, but this was on the sweeter side. However, as I rolled it on my tongue, the spices emerged, making it more mature. The pork cutlet was finely chopped and easy to eat, but nothing out of the ordinary. Yes, it was delicious.

I had some business in Akihabara and was wondering where to eat, so I decided to visit Jo Grand Curry. It is located on the way from Akihabara to Suehirocho. I was curious about what "Osaka Curry" actually is. I had also heard that they had won the Curry Grand Prix in the past... This was also on my mind. When I opened the door and entered, there was a ticket vending machine where I made my purchase. I ordered the Chicken Cutlet Curry (850 yen including tax). I sat at the counter seat and handed the ticket to the staff, who asked me if I wanted a raw egg as a service. I requested it with the egg. The dish was served to me after about 5 minutes. The chicken cutlet was indeed freshly fried and hot, but the curry sauce was lukewarm and lacked richness. It's a mystery whether the taste of the curry sauce varies depending on the menu... I would like to try the curry they won the championship with...

For my second stop at the Kanda Curry Grand Prix, I chose the Katsu Curry from Joto Curry. I used a coupon to get free chicken tenderloin as a topping. The spiciness was about medium, but with the addition of Fukujinzuke and pickles, it became just right. The katsu was crispy and delicious.

The curry tonkatsu with delicious toppings has a crispy texture and the cheese is gooey and rich, not losing to the curry sauce. The curry has a sweet and savory taste that even those who don't like spicy food can enjoy. The portion size is also satisfying, and getting tonkatsu and cheese for 1000 yen is a great deal.

I visited the Kanda Curry Grand Prix to collect stamps. I decided to try something different this time and ordered the hamburger curry with cheese topping. Personally, I think it might have been better with just the cheese topping. The hamburger was delicious, but it felt like it lacked unity with the curry. Maybe curry goes better with pork cutlet after all?

Curry with rice, extra large portion of curry sauce with chicken cutlet for 700 yen plus 200 yen. The chicken cutlet was free with a coupon from a LINE friend. The curry comes with a free egg. The curry is sweet and spicy, with a mild amount of spices. The curry sauce and rice are both served in large portions. The chicken cutlet is a bit on the small side.

I bought a curry from a curry restaurant located about a 10-minute walk from Akihabara Station. The curry was medium spicy, and the pickles served as a side were slightly sweet, which paired well. The curry came with four pieces of fried chicken, providing a satisfying meal.

Recently, when I get a little hungry at night, I've been stopping by my favorite curry shop. Today, I bought a ticket for the Menchi Katsu Curry (850 yen). When I handed over the ticket, they asked, "Would you like a raw egg on top?" Despite eggs being expensive lately, I said yes. The Menchi Katsu Curry arrived without much of a wait. It's only my third visit, with the first being Katsu Curry and the second being Hamburger Curry. I haven't tried all the menu items yet, but... the Menchi Katsu Curry is the best! The juicy meat of the Menchi Katsu, the curry, and the slightly soggy breading all mixed together create a deliciously junky flavor. Personally, I feel satisfied with this shop where the taste, portion size, price, and location all fit perfectly. Everything is just right. I will definitely come back. Thank you for the meal.

Top quality curry Akihabara branch Chicken tenderloin cutlet curry 850 yen (plus 100 yen for extra large serving) It is located near the south exit of the Ginza Line subway towards Shibuya. I had passed by the area before, but this was my first visit. They had a unique dish called chicken tenderloin cutlet curry, which caught my attention. The way they served the rice was interesting. The chicken tenderloin was surprisingly large and satisfying. The curry sauce was medium spicy, with a hint of sweetness in the background. Since I ordered extra rice only, the curry sauce was a bit lacking, so I found out they have a ticket for extra rice and curry sauce. Overall, it was delicious and satisfying. Thank you for the meal.

I was curious about Osaka-style pork cutlet curry, so I stopped by this restaurant. However, I was a little disappointed to see that the staff were foreigners and not Kansai locals cooking the food. The curry was not what I had in mind for Osaka-style pork cutlet curry. I wonder where I can find authentic Osaka-style pork cutlet curry in Tokyo. Thank you for the complimentary raw egg. Thank you for the meal.

I had been curious about this curry restaurant for a while. Today, there was no line outside, so I decided to go in. I hesitated in front of the ticket machine on the right side, trying to decide what to order. I was worried about overeating as I have been gaining weight recently. Despite that, I couldn't resist the curry. I ended up ordering boiled shrimp curry, which was slightly spicy and the shrimp was deliciously tender. The portion of rice and curry was just right, and the restaurant was clean and nice. They even gave me a free egg, which was a nice touch. It had a taste of Osaka.

I visited "Joto Curry Akihabara Store," a restaurant serving Osaka-style curry, on a holiday in December 2022 around 5:00 PM. Located just a minute's walk from Suehirocho Station, the small restaurant had about 3 customers already inside. I chose the "Handmade Tonkatsu Curry" for ¥900 using the ticket machine. I sat at the counter and presented my ticket. When asked if I wanted a raw egg, I agreed. After about 5 minutes, the dish was served: curry rice topped with cut tonkatsu and a raw egg. I first tried the curry, rice, and tonkatsu together. The rich and slightly spicy curry flavor paired well with the thick tonkatsu. I then broke the yolk of the raw egg at the right moment, enjoying the combination with the tonkatsu and curry rice. The curry became milder and even more delicious. I also enjoyed the pickled cabbage and Fukujinzuke on the table, which added a hint of acidity that complemented the rich curry well. I sprinkled some red pepper for a bit of heat, savoring the Osaka-style tonkatsu curry. The sweetness of the Fukujinzuke was also delightful. The rich and sweet curry rice, which I only eat occasionally, was delicious. I felt satisfied after finishing the meal, especially considering the value of having tonkatsu on top for ¥900. Despite the slightly worn-out feel of the interior, the taste of the curry made me appreciate the excellence of Joto Curry once again.

I visited the 20th restaurant, "Joto Curry," in the Kanda Curry Grand Prix C Course. I ordered the "Shichibun Curry," which is a basic curry with just the curry sauce and rice. It was like having plain ramen without any toppings. Compared to my previous experience at the Kanda Ogawamachi branch where I had the "Handmade Tonkatsu Curry," this meal left me a bit unsatisfied. I wonder if the absence of the tonkatsu made such a big difference in taste, or if it was just the difference in branch locations. Also, not receiving the complimentary raw egg was a bit disappointing. Overall, it felt lacking.

Located along a main street a little towards Suehirocho from Akihabara Station, there is a shop called Jo-to Curry Akihabara branch. Jo-to Curry is a reliable and delicious chain restaurant. The bright and clean interior, along with the staff who seem to be of Indian descent, create an authentic atmosphere. Jo-to Curry never fails to deliver with its sweet and spicy flavors. This time, I ordered the Menchi Katsu Curry. The crispy coating reveals juicy and delicious meat, which when combined with the tasty curry, creates a delightful and premium dining experience. If you happen to be craving curry while out and about, I highly recommend this comforting chain restaurant.

Chicken cutlet curry with chicken breast meat only as a side dish for an extra ¥100 for a larger portion. The curry goes from sweet to spicy, Osaka-style. Add extra spiciness with table spices. Avoid the basement floor as it smells musty.

Located between Akihabara and Suehirocho stations, this shop always caught my eye as I passed by. I decided to quickly stop in this time when I was in a hurry. I ordered the "Hamburger Curry (900 yen)" Mild sweet and spicy curry with an egg yolk added for extra mildness. The curry was average, but the garlic chips on the hamburger were a nice touch. As someone who inexplicably seeks a sense of junk food in this area, this taste was perfect for me. It's a place where you can easily enjoy curry without focusing too much on the taste. I recommend the Hamburger Curry! Thank you for the meal. ✨

I ordered cheese curry. It was a curry that starts off sweet and then becomes spicy. However, it felt like something was missing. It lacked the depth and balance of flavors that you would find in a delicious curry. It wasn't quite like a soup curry, but it also wasn't rich or flavorful like a good curry. It seemed like they were trying too hard to please everyone, resulting in everything being mediocre.

Hello. I am the self-proclaimed Curry King. I participated in the Kanda Curry Street Stamp Rally F Course, also known as the Affair Course. The F Course allows participants to freely choose and eat at 32 out of 125 participating restaurants between August 1st and December 15th. If you visit all 32 restaurants, you will earn the title of Maestro. The 15th stop on my journey was at "Joto Curry" in Akihabara, known for their authentic shrimp curry. I decided to top my shrimp curry with fried shrimp and a soft-boiled egg today, creating a shrimp festival. The curry had a seductive appearance, with the rice covered in a brown curry sauce, reminiscent of a sultry lady in a beige negligee revealing a hint of lace. The taste was sweet at first, followed by a subtle peppery heat, characteristic of Osaka-style sweet and spicy curry. I particularly enjoy the unique flavor of "Joto Curry," especially when I sprinkle a generous amount of chili from the condiment set on the table. The shrimp at "Joto Curry" is also delicious, providing a satisfying texture and flavor. The experience was like indulging in a moment of pleasure with a sophisticated lady, followed by a tumultuous encounter. I have 17 more stops to go before achieving the Maestro title. Perhaps you could be the next one to experience this delightful journey. Let's enjoy this delicious adventure together~ ( ˘ ³˘)♡

The curry is mild and has a spicy aftertaste. The cutlet is thinly sliced and crispy. The cutlet alone is very delicious. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is good with lively Indian pop music playing. I heard that they offer a free raw egg, but I declined. I will try it next time.

I chose the "Handmade Minced Cutlet Curry (¥850)" at the 7th place in the Kanda Curry Grand Prix 2022. The curry is sweet with a mild spiciness and a thick texture, giving it a familiar and nostalgic feel. The minced cutlet is thick and satisfying to eat, and it's freshly fried. It's not overly bold or pretentious, just a comforting curry that everyone can enjoy. That's the kind of place I think it is.
