The other day, I visited the restaurant around 1 pm with the intention of trying the sesame amberjack with Mizutaki set. It was my second visit, and I was greeted by a lovely staff member with a great smile who showed us to a table for two. The restaurant had a narrow hallway with curtains separating the tables, giving a cozy and private feel. I ordered the Hakata Mizutaki set along with an iced jasmine tea. The set included sesame amberjack sashimi, a small side dish, one piece of fried chicken, Mizutaki hot pot, white rice, soup, pickles, and mentaiko (with free refills). The jasmine tea had a nice aroma, although it was a bit light. The rice and mentaiko were delicious, and I couldn't resist getting a second serving. The sesame amberjack was fresh and slightly sweet, complementing the well-cooked rice. The Mizutaki soup was flavorful and matched the hot pot. The small side dish had a soy sauce flavor, and the fried chicken was juicy and not too garlicky, which I liked. The chicken in the Mizutaki was cooked perfectly, tender with a hint of firmness, and the bone-in pieces were small and easy to eat. The two small meatballs were soft, and the vegetables and tofu were sweet and tender. The ponzu sauce with yuzu, sansho pepper, and chopped green onions added a nice touch. The pickles were high-quality with mentaiko and mustard greens, making them a great accompaniment. For dessert, there was a small peach jelly, which was tasty but a bit warm. There was a buzzer on the table for calling the staff, who were all friendly and attentive. The Mizutaki set was excellent, with well-cooked chicken and delicious accompaniments, making it a great value for the price. I am considering trying the herbal hot pot set next time!
