Yesterday, the interior work and moving of items at our store were completed, and I walked over to this place just 2-3 minutes away for lunch. I ordered the mapo tofu set meal with a side of ramen! I chose level 4 spiciness for the ramen (+80 yen). The ramen was quite big f^_^; It was a simple ramen with boiled bean sprouts and green onions. For 130 yen, it was great without any complaints (∩︎´∀︎`)∩︎スンバラスィ♪︎ The mapo tofu was still gentle even at level 4 spiciness, with a bit of spiciness but no numbness. Maybe it would have been worth it to add the numbing Sichuan peppercorns for an extra 80 yen ✩︎⡱ I'm curious about the gyoza subscription. Thank you for the meal ┏︎○︎)) ===========

Local stay, 2nd day. For lunch, I found a Chinese chain restaurant called "Fukushin" near JR Saikyo Line, Kitashakujii Station Ukimaguchi area, and they were having a Gyoza festival with each plate priced at 100 yen, so I decided to go in. "Fukushin" is a familiar Chinese chain restaurant in Ikebukuro and Jokita area. Upon entering, I saw both table and counter seats available, and since it was relatively empty, I chose a table seat. The menu had a wide variety of options at affordable prices. I was in the mood for a stamina dish, so I ordered the liver and leek stir-fry set meal with 2 plates of gyoza. It cost 680 yen + 100 yen x 2 plates = 880 yen. The dishes were served in about 5 minutes. The portion for 880 yen was very reasonable. The liver and leek stir-fry had a simple composition of leeks, bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, pork liver, with a crunchy texture of vegetables. The liver was delicious. The seasoning was soy sauce-based, not too heavy, making it easy to eat. The white rice went well with it. The gyoza was small but light, so I could eat it quickly. I poured the liver and leek stir-fry with the soup over the rice halfway through and finished it like a bowl dish. It was delicious until the end. Personally, I think "Fukushin" offers good value for set meals. I've decided to revisit... Yum!

When I ordered miso vegetable tanmen, they said they couldn't do miso. What? Why? Isn't it just adding miso sauce? It's a mystery. So, I ended up ordering salt-flavored vegetable tanmen, but it tasted bland? Or rather, lacking in salt? I had to add a lot of soy sauce to finally give it some flavor. Is it originally supposed to be light in taste? Did they forget to add something? It's a mystery.

Today, after finishing my night shift, I decided to stop by Fukushin at Kitashinagawa Station. Fukushin is a noodle and rice restaurant with a decent selection of dishes and drinks. I tried their Fukushin Sour, which surprisingly wasn't too sour and had a unique pickled flavor. I also had their specialty dish, Unpairo, which is boiled pork with a five-spice sauce. The taste was good, but the serving container could have been better. For lunch, I ordered the Hand-Kneaded Ramen, which had a slightly underwhelming soup and normal noodles. Overall, it was an okay experience at Fukushin.

The ramen I had at Fukushin for the first time felt like a set meal type of ramen. The fried rice had a lot of volume for a half size, but the chashu was a bit dry. The dumplings had a slightly mild flavor in the filling. Overall, it's good value for money. If it's nearby, I might go occasionally.

Eating Out Edition - Expiry Date Coupon for Mapo Tofu Set @ Fukushin/North Akabane
A little while ago, on December 22nd (Sunday), I had lunch at this restaurant. "Fukushin" at the Kitashimocho North Akabane Ukimaguchi branch. I had stumbled upon this place while walking before. I was in the mood for spicy mapo tofu, so I decided to go there on this day. First, I checked the menu. The gyoza set next to it was also quite tempting, but I stuck to my original plan and ordered the mapo tofu set (640 yen). After a while, the mapo tofu set arrived. It consisted of mapo tofu, rice, soup, and pickles. I sprinkled plenty of ichimi togarashi (Japanese red pepper) and was ready to eat. Of course, mapo tofu has to be spicy. Let's dig in! Yum yum yum♪ Oh, delicious! It may be far from the authentic taste, but this city Chinese mapo tofu is good. The soup was a plain egg drop soup... or so I thought, but it turned out to be egg soup (laughs). The pickles were probably store-bought pickled vegetables. I added some chili oil. The aroma improved significantly. I turned the rice into mapo rice by mixing it with the mapo tofu. Eating mapo rice by gulping it down in one go is the best way to enjoy it. I finished it all in one go. Phew, I'm full! With this taste and portion size at this price, the cost performance is satisfactory. Miyaken left the restaurant feeling very satisfied. The end. Since January 2011 until this day, the number of meals eaten out (breakfast and lunch, excluding the company cafeteria) is 1,194, with an average price of 466 yen per meal. Bonus: When I paid the bill, I received a coupon, but the expiry date is by the end of the year. (Visit date was December 22nd). Looks like I won't be able to use it. (laughs)

The hot season has arrived, and I feel like eating chilled Chinese noodles. That's why I went to Fukushin, a chain Chinese restaurant located near the station. They offer not only ramen but also fried rice, set meals, and alcoholic beverages. They have tables, so it's a good place to go with family, including children. There are also elderly customers, showing that it's a popular local restaurant.

I had moyashi soba and half cha-han. The moyashi was crunchy and plentiful, with a gentle soup flavor. The noodles were firm and consistent in taste. The half cha-han was also delicious, with a perfect amount and fluffy texture. Thank you for the meal.

I ordered the leek soba. I felt a difference between the menu image and the actual dish.

As I was walking by my house, I discovered a new Fukushin restaurant that had opened. The exterior looked different from the typical Fukushin, so I didn't notice it at first. There are several Fukushin restaurants in Ikebukuro near my workplace, and I often rely on them for takeout. They are cheap, fast, and reliable. So, it was surprising to see a Fukushin restaurant in this location. The interior was also different from the usual Fukushin, with more tables and no blue color scheme. I'm not sure if this is a different type of chain, but the menu was the same as the usual Fukushin. It's great to have a restaurant where I can get takeout near my house. It seems like a more relaxed atmosphere than the usual Fukushin, so I would like to go back and try it again. The food is the same old Fukushin, for better or for worse! (laughs)

When passing by the station on my bike, I noticed a new restaurant called "福しん" in 北赤羽. It looked different from the familiar Chinese chain restaurant with the same name in 赤羽. Inside, the layout was different with only one row of counter seats and a few four-person tables. The counter seats had power outlets, which seemed convenient for solo diners. I ordered the 焼豚チャーハン set (690円) which came with fried rice, dumplings, and a small ramen. The fried rice was moist and flavorful, although I prefer a drier texture. The ramen was simple but tasty, with a generous portion for a half serving. The dumplings were juicy and well-cooked. Overall, the set was filling and satisfying.
