Tonight, I decided to have a "Navona Festival" with a properly hand-dripped coffee at Kameya Mannendo Asagaya store. I was originally looking for the limited edition "Kumamoto Navona" but unfortunately it was sold out. Instead, I got the seasonal Hokkaido Navona "An and Butter" for 162 yen, and the long-time popular Pineapple Cream for 162 yen. I also bought the seasonal Navona "Chocolat Strawberry" for 118 yen. The Pineapple Cream has a cream with a noticeable pineapple pulp, which I really like. The Hokkaido Navona has a buttery cream that goes well with the Navona sponge. The Navona Chocolat Strawberry has a slightly bitter chocolate taste with a hint of strawberry acidity, giving it a more mature flavor. It's smaller than other Navonas, which is also nice. Checking out seasonal Navonas regularly might be interesting from now on.

Nabana's cream puffs are addictive! I tried them once as a gift and they were so delicious that I had to buy some for myself. They are filled with plenty of fresh strawberries, making them really tasty. Perfect for a cheat day treat. Every time I pass by the shop, I can't resist buying some. I think it's time to visit Mr. Turtle from the cream puff shop again (laughs).

I visited the store twice in one day. First for lunch, I had the special Nabo-Na with cheese at the Asagaya store. The familiar Nabo-Na outer shell with a delicious cheese filling inside made it even more tasty. After work, I tried the baked Monaka and Kurino. The Monaka is freshly made in the store after ordering, and it has a crispy shell with sweet red bean paste inside. The Monaka is shaped like a turtle, making it fun to decide where to start eating from. I will try the Kurino tomorrow, as it has a same-day expiration date.

I visited a shop facing the rotary at the south exit of Asagaya Station on a weekend afternoon. There was a bus stop right in front, with real estate agencies and bookstores on both sides. I had heard of Kameya Nenndo before, and their main store seems to be in Jiyugaoka. The URL was listed as "navona," so it seems like Kameya Nenndo is commonly referred to as Navona. Inside the shop, there were various Japanese sweets on display. I bought the Shine Muscat Daifuku. Since I have eaten at Navona many times before, I didn't buy anything else. The taste was just as good as always. Thank you for the meal.

"Nabona is the home run king of sweets!" Kameya Mannendo, originating from Jiyugaoka, created a memorable confectionery with a powerful phrase from the world's king player. It's amazing that King player agreed to do a commercial for them. On this day, before visiting Sushi Shunsuke, I planned to stop by a longtime friend's house nearby and decided to buy a souvenir at Kameya Mannendo. Actually, their black sugar "Tora-yaki" is surprisingly delicious, so I chose that. It's not a "Dorayaki," but a "Tora-yaki." In general, "Dorayaki" is said to be named after the shape resembling a drum (dora). Our Tora-yaki does have a tiger-like pattern on the surface. ◆ Black Sugar Tora-yaki (216 yen incl. tax) The flavor and richness of black sugar are the highlights of this Tora-yaki. It's good when enjoyed at room temperature, but microwaving it for about 10 seconds makes it even better!

Nabona, a famous Japanese sweets chain store in front of Asagaya Station. I had never used this store before, so I decided to try it out. Nabona also sells individual items. I chose the regular Nabona, which cost 108 yen including tax. The dough is incredibly fluffy, with a smooth cream inside. The cream is so light that you almost forget it's there. It tastes like vanilla cream. The dough is moist and disappears in your mouth smoothly.

On the way back from Hatsumode (first shrine visit of the year), I noticed a Fukubako (lucky bag in a box) and decided to buy one for home and one as a gift. There were various types inside, so it was enjoyable without getting bored. The New Year dorayaki was called "New Year dorayaki" and the packaging was festive and celebratory. The dorayaki had a rich red bean paste filling and a special New Year design on top. There were also various Western-style sweets from Nabona and Mamma Mia with different flavors. I savored the treats, some of which I hadn't had in a while or were new to me, including limited-time flavors. It was nice that many of the items had a long expiration date. I definitely want to buy it again next year.

When you exit Asagaya Station South Exit, there are shops on the right side. While Nabona is famous at Kameya Mannendo, there are many other sweets as well. There are various sweets such as Monaka, Castella, and long-lasting sablé lined up. I purchased the Nabona Long Life assortment for gifts, which includes three flavors: vanilla, mixed berry, and chocolate. It seems like a product that everyone in the gifted family would be happy to eat. At the checkout, I discovered soy sauce-flavored dango! The white dango with beautiful soy sauce-colored filling looked delicious! As a treat for myself, I purchased it. The dango was fluffy and chewy, and the aroma of soy sauce added a touch of elegance. It was delicious.
