I got off at Kuramae to go out and ask for an umbrella repair. Before heading to the umbrella shop, I stumbled upon a natto bar. Natto and alcohol together? The place seemed to be open even during the daytime, so out of curiosity, I decided to enter. The store seemed to have just opened, with congratulatory flowers placed inside. The store was filled with neatly arranged natto packages in various attractive packaging. The friendly lady welcomed me and introduced the shop as the first natto specialty store from Osaka to open in Tokyo. They offered a variety of natto with different toppings, including kimchi, chili oil, nori, and more. I ended up buying a few packs to try at home. The lady also mentioned they had a variety of sets available for gifting. I asked if they served natto as a side dish with alcohol, but she said they didn't. Back home, I had the natto for dinner. Natto is said to be good for eating at night as it contains an enzyme that helps prevent blood clots. The toppings and sauce were nothing special, and the prices were higher than regular supermarket natto. The next morning, I had the kimchi natto with rice, but the kimchi was lacking in flavor. Overall, the natto was decent, but I prefer other brands. I realized I could find a better selection of natto at other shops in the area, so I probably won't be returning to this natto bar.

I was intrigued by the sign for the Natto BAR, so I decided to go inside. They had a display that looked like cakes with various flavors of natto lined up, including large grains, small grains, and minced natto. You could choose from 11 different toppings to add on top. It was so much fun just looking at all the options. Since I love natto, I chose the large grains for their texture, and bought plain, seaweed, and tororo kelp flavors to take home. The large grains of natto were soft and fluffy, just as I had hoped. The taste of the natto was not too strong, making it easy to eat but it was pretty ordinary. For the tororo kelp and seaweed toppings, I recommend mixing them only halfway so that the toppings don't get lost in the natto.

I visited Natto BAR Kogin-an Kuramae store for the first time. I bought 7 different kinds of natto, and today I had the Kimchi (300 yen), my daughter had the Zero Ume (300 yen), and my wife had the Tororo Konbu (270 yen). The portions were bigger than I expected. The Kimchi had a strong dashi soy sauce flavor. The Zero Ume had just the scent of plum, it would be better if there were chopped plums in it. The Tororo Konbu had a refined taste. The dried sardines had a memorable sweetness in the sauce, the seaweed natto was just normal, the red shiso natto had a lack of unity with the mixed seasoning like Yukari. The onion natto was also quite ordinary.
