The owner was running the shop alone. I was able to make a reservation even at the last minute, so I reserved an hour before. I didn't choose a menu in advance, but decided on the spot. The counter can seat a maximum of 9 people. The efficiency in serving drinks and snacks was impressive, and I was amazed by the quality of the tempura. I would like to come back when I want to indulge again.

Daily visits. Today I came with a guest. We had the chef's choice tempura and the famous simmered pork omelette rice in a large portion. It's great that it's fried in rice oil, so you don't get indigestion even if you eat it every day. I always enjoy a Black Nikka highball (9%), but maybe I'll try sake next time.

I have been going to this restaurant five times a week this month. If there were a family there, it would be me. (laughs) I recently discovered a menu item called "Tenbara Chirashi" and I really like it. The seasoning is perfect and it still tastes good even when it's cold. I also enjoy eating the pork belly, whether it's melt-in-your-mouth or freshly made, both are good.

We always enjoy visiting this restaurant with our family. The main dish here is the crispy tempura, fried in high-quality rice oil so you can eat a lot without feeling heavy. Ordering the "omakase" option allows the chef to choose a variety of tempura dishes for you. As for a la carte options, the recommended tempura additions are clam tempura, shrimp toast, green onion, and sweet potato. If you order the "endless tempura" option, they will keep serving tempura until you say stop. The side dishes are also excellent, such as smoked potato salad, braised pork, meat dishes, pike conger with sansho pepper (seasonal), and duck and vegetable stew. A hidden gem on the menu is the "braised pork omelette rice," which I am a big fan of. I have tried all the tempura and side dishes, and there are no disappointments. The white rice and mixed rice cooked in a clay pot are also great! If you can't finish your meal, they will pack it up for you. They offer a wide variety of drinks including whiskies like Yamazaki, Hakushu, Macallan, sake, shochu, and wine. I personally enjoy the 9% Black Nikka highball. For those who can't decide what to order, they have set courses for 5000 yen and 7000 yen which provide a balanced selection of appetizers, tempura, and a closing dish. It's truly a miracle and a blessing to have a unique and talented chef running a place like this in Musashi-Koyama. Despite its unassuming appearance, the skilled and impressive dishes at Kakuitsu will leave you wanting more. Be sure to give it a try!

We felt like having tempura for our family dinner and decided to try this restaurant. We ordered the 6500 yen course and were able to eat until we were full! We enjoyed various seasonal ingredients, and the homemade soba at the end was very delicious. However, some of the tempura was greasy and not well drained, which was disappointing. Overall, the meal was satisfying and we will definitely visit again for casual dining. Thank you for the meal!

When I was on my way to Tonkatsu Taiyo, I often passed by a store that caught my attention. In November, during oyster season, I saw a sign saying "Oyster Tempura, New Soba" and decided to visit Kadoichi. The stylish restaurant with glass windows made me a bit wary, but all my worries disappeared once I tasted the delicious food. The timing of the dishes coming out was excellent, and the pork loin tempura was as good as what you'd find at Taiyo. The fresh oysters were amazing, and I'm already worried about whether the quality will be the same next time. The fried clams with shells were also surprisingly flavorful. The soba noodles were to my liking, with a punchy dipping sauce that matched the level of a soba restaurant. It turned out to be an unexpectedly great meal.

First, I ordered sashimi, today's special was medium fatty tuna. Then I had 5 pieces of tempura before finishing with braised pork belly. Very satisfied.

After a long time, my family enjoyed a full course of tempura together. The specialty "Tenbara Chirashi" for the finishing touch was truly exquisite and I could eat as much as I wanted. It's delicious even when cold.

A small soba restaurant located in a side street off the shopping street of Musashi-Koyama. It feels more like a place to drink soba than a traditional soba restaurant, with a counter lined with Japanese whiskey bottles. The soba is hand-made, and you can see the tools displayed. There is only one restroom. The interior is not particularly clean, but the dim lighting creates a cozy atmosphere. The young owner manages the place alone. He has a sharp personality and seems dedicated to perfecting his craft. The dishes are well-prepared, with delicious appetizers like abalone. It's more about enjoying the appetizers while drinking than focusing solely on eating soba.

The owner said it's a soba restaurant, but the real standout here is the appetizers that precede the soba. The soba and the closing dish of cooked rice are all crafted with skill. I believe this place boasts one of the top levels in Tokyo. I wasn't expecting much at first, but I was pleasantly surprised. If you want to eat delicious food, enjoy a tasty meal with drinks, and impress the person you bring along, I recommend this restaurant to you.

I was craving tempura and stumbled upon this place where roast beef was served as an appetizer. It's a bit of a mix of different styles, but it was delicious. The owner apparently shops at Tsukiji Market every day, so the sashimi and seafood were very fresh. As a fan of sake, I started with Zaku and enjoyed the owner's recommendations. I mainly had vegetable and seafood tempura, and the light batter was amazing. They also served tempura dipping sauce, but the owner recommended trying it with salt instead, and it was perfect. Lastly, I had soba noodles made from 100% buckwheat, which I enjoyed with salt, seaweed, and wasabi. I didn't even need the soba dipping sauce. I will definitely be back. Thank you for the delicious meal.

In October 2016, I revisited the restaurant and noticed that the assistant was no longer there, leaving the owner to run the place alone. The service felt rushed and lacking in politeness, with a sense of desperation apparent. The atmosphere was uncomfortable, and the clientele seemed different. I decided to leave quickly after having one drink (with a small appetizer) for ¥1600. It seems the owner had mentioned before that "this is not a cheap restaurant". Thank you for the meal. On my first visit in October 2015 at 10 pm, I found a clean and modern restaurant with only an L-shaped counter (the neighboring store had a different business). I ordered a draft beer and tried the owner's recommended "kiss fish tempura". The fish was light and fluffy, but the batter was heavy and not to my liking. I also enjoyed the smoked potato salad, and added a glass of red wine. The soba noodles were thin and slightly uneven in thickness, but served as a good end to the meal. The soba broth was a bit light and tasted average. The assistant was friendly and engaging, making the experience enjoyable. Despite the high prices for drinks, the food was reasonably priced. The high chairs were comfortable, and the restaurant had a bar-like atmosphere with the convenience of being able to have a meal. I liked it overall.

On a weekday night when I was quite tired, I decided to visit this place that I had been curious about for some delicious food. The exterior of the restaurant looked like a trendy cafe, but inside, it was filled with carefully crafted dishes. The interior had only a counter, and I found a seat at the end of it. I started with a beer - a draft beer served in a metal cup. In this season, beer always tastes good and helps me relax and unwind. Before ordering any dishes, a generous appetizer platter was served. It included items like mushrooms, winter melon, small deep-fried crabs, okra, all reflecting the seasonal feel. At this point, I could see the true skill of this restaurant and got excited. After the appetizers, I ordered several tempura dishes, with the exception of potato salad. The menu included smoked potato salad, oysters, squid wrapped in shiso leaves, Kamo eggplant, and corn tempura. The smoked salad was also delicious, with a hint of pickled daikon adding a nice touch. The tempura dishes were all cooked perfectly. My favorites were the oysters and corn tempura. I always enjoy corn tempura, and this one was particularly enjoyable. Feeling a bit tired, I didn't order much, but I would like to try their soba next time as it looks promising. I have found a great restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

A shop I casually visit about once every six months. It used to be near the station, but now it's run by a young owner who has branched out on their own. The shop is located near the Palme shopping street, just a 5-minute walk from the previous location. - I love the small appetizers that keep coming. They are all refreshing, perfect for hot days in early summer. - I absolutely adore raw oysters and would order them anywhere. The rock oysters were available, a bit early in the season, but they were large and creamy with a rich flavor. - The corn tempura was delicious with the natural sweetness of the corn kernels and the crispy texture of the tempura coating. It was a delightful experience in the mouth. - I also ordered dishes like raw fish marinated in soy sauce, pickles, and conger eel tempura. Everything had a well-balanced taste and made for great snacks with drinks. The restaurant has only counter seating and a bright interior with glass walls, making it a comfortable place for women to visit alone. I plan to go back next time for a light meal by myself.

I happened to be walking around in 2016 when I saw a sign in front of a shop that caught my eye. I hesitated about going in, but decided to stop by. I ordered the grilled shirako (milt) and debated between getting tempura or grilled, but ended up choosing the grilled option. I also had shrimp tempura and soba noodles. The presentation was neat and the food seemed to be made with care. It had a simple and delicious taste, with the ingredients shining through. The restaurant had a modern feel rather than a traditional one. It was a great meal.
