I went to a yakiniku restaurant that opened in Ameyoko in Ueno. To celebrate the opening, they had discounted prices for black wagyu kalbi and black wagyu yukke. They also had half-priced draft beer. The restaurant was spacious with no private rooms, but the tables were roomy and comfortable for a relaxing meal. They served raw meat, and I ordered the sirloin this time. It had just the right amount of fat and melted in my mouth. The portion size for the price was great. It would be nice if they offered smaller portion sizes as the fat got a bit overwhelming towards the end. Overall, I was satisfied with the tongue, kalbi, and loin as well. Great value for money! The garlic was tasty and the staff were all friendly and made the meal enjoyable. Although they just opened, I think this place will become popular. There is also a branch in Asakusa. I will definitely go back again.

I had a New Year's party with my son and his girlfriend, and we decided to have a meal in Ueno after running from Ikebukuro to Ueno during the day. We went to a public bath called "Juyu" before eating, and it was fantastic. It had a large outdoor bath in the city center, which was amazing. After cleansing ourselves at the public bath, we took a leisurely walk to the restaurant. We had reserved a 2.5-hour all-you-can-drink course for 5,000 yen. The course included various dishes such as kimchi, namul, Chijimi, grilled beef tongue, assorted grilled meats, kuppah, and dessert. The service was excellent, and we enjoyed cooking and eating the different types of meat. I would love to visit this restaurant again. (The next day, I had a terrible hangover and couldn't leave the house, but I was happy. Thank you for the meal!)

We used this restaurant for dinner after visiting the Mexico exhibition. We ordered a platter of rare cuts of meat, kalbi, beef tongue, and kupa, and they were brought to us quickly and were delicious. The rare cuts of meat were tender. The staff were polite and the service was good. If I had to say something, the heat seemed a little strong, so it might be better if it were a bit lower. Thank you for the meal.

The impression of the store is a bit old-fashioned, but we were guided to a semi-private room at the back. The lunch set felt like a great deal. The highly popular restaurant was known for its delicious Yukke, but upon arrival, there was a 30-minute wait with no reservation. Unfortunately, by the time they were seated, the Yukke was already sold out. The other dishes were limited to only three options, which was disappointing. They ended up ordering Galbi and Harami, and were looking forward to the all-you-can-eat beef tongue curry and soup with white rice. However, the Galbi and Harami were thin and the beef tongue curry didn't taste like tongue at all. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, but individual opinions may vary.

I visited "Ittoboshi Yakiniku Gen Ueno Ameyoko Store" located a 3-minute walk from Okachimachi Station. I arrived just before the store opened on a Sunday and there was no line, so I was able to enter as soon as it opened. I ordered the Black Wagyu Beef Yukke Lunch for 1,000 yen, which came with salad, kimchi, and namul. Rice, soup, and self-service beef tongue curry were also included. The food was served promptly. I placed the yukke on top of the rice to make a yukke bowl. The yukke had a rich flavor and was delicious, especially when combined with the egg yolk and sauce. The self-service beef tongue curry surprisingly had a lot of tongue meat and was tasty. I enjoyed the meal until the end.

The popular Ameyoko area is definitely getting more crowded. Still can't take off the mask, right? Strolling around, oh "Ittoumai Yakiniku Gen," I remember seeing this somewhere before. Ah, in Asakusa! Lately, my friend who used to dislike meat has started eating it more. He used to say, "I'm not really into meat..." I, on the other hand, am a meat-eater who dislikes vegetables. It seems like my friend became interested after seeing me eat meat so eagerly. Come to think of it, there are a lot of "Ameyoko Yakiniku" places these days. It's been years since the doctor told me, "Don't eat meat." I've been holding back on eating meat, except for occasional indulgences. As a light eater and vegetable lover, I didn't really go for yakiniku much. When I used to go to yakiniku restaurants in the past, it was usually with male friends. We could eat without worrying about anything back then; it was a feast. Nowadays, when I start eating, I feel like there's a brake on. Looking at the menu board, there are various lunch options like Yakiniku Lunch for 1,000 yen, Special Yakiniku Lunch for 1,900 yen, Kalbi Yakiniku Lunch for 1,200 yen, Kalbi and Harami Yakiniku Lunch for 1,300 yen, Kalbi and Rosu Yakiniku Lunch for 1,300 yen, and Black Wagyu Yukke Lunch for 1,200 yen. With the permission of my eyes, I decide to enter the shop. Let's go up, there's an elevator so it's easy. Oh, the 4th-floor restaurant is almost full. No need to worry about the number of customers; it's bustling. Maybe it's popular. It's impressive to see a busy restaurant on the 4th floor; they must be good at business... I've been restraining myself, a meat-loving species, for ten, twenty years. I've been holding back, and I didn't go to yakiniku restaurants much. In the past, it was normal to have 10 servings of Kalbi. "Black Wagyu Kalbi," "Beef Kalbi and Beef Harami," "Beef and Pork Kalbi," "Beef Tendon Curry." There's a risk factor with A5 Black Wagyu. It feels like A4, with a safe level of fat and a beefy smell, good texture, a bit beyond the usual yakiniku mood. Even with the cheap menu "Beef and Pork Kalbi," the beef kalbi is impressive. It's amazing, there's a proper umami flavor even in the cheap Wagyu Kalbi. Wow, I'm satisfied with this at lunch, holding back as a meat-eating species. It's not uncommon to see restaurants with few reviews lately. I wonder why; they must be popular. It's not easy to have a busy restaurant with many reviews. I was impressed by the contents. When the atmosphere calms down a bit, I'd like to have a yakiniku and drinks with my light-eating friend. The Kalbi isn't too greasy and easy to eat. The Harami is packed with flavor and delicious. It's tender and moist. Self-serve curry is all-you-can-eat, and it's amazing that there are chunks of beef in it. It's not too spicy, making it recommended even for children. It's on the 4th floor of the building, but there were more customers than I expected. The staff were bright and handled things efficiently, making it a pleasant experience. It's a good place to go when you want to eat yakiniku easily. I left the restaurant feeling unexpectedly impressed. Currently, the team rankings around the yakiniku base are as follows. I saw a yakiniku restaurant in Ueno that I had never seen before, but it had high ratings so I was curious and decided to visit. The location is a bit hidden on a back street. I had some business in Ueno, so I visited a yakiniku restaurant that I had been curious about. The location is in a lively area. The interior of the restaurant had a slightly low ceiling which bothered me a little. For lunch, you can choose from options starting at 1000 yen with all-you-can-eat soup and curry. I ordered the 1300 yen set of black wagyu kalbi and loin. The meat was well marbled. The curry was beef tongue curry and both the soup and curry were full of ingredients. Drinks during lunch are a good deal at 200 yen. I was able to eat to my heart's content and was very satisfied. I would like to visit again if I'm in the area.

I made a reservation for 6:00 pm on a holiday and was seated right away. The meat was excellent and reasonably priced, just like the Asakusa branch. It was nice to be able to try the yukhoe, which is not available in Asakusa. However, perhaps because it is a new opening, the operation seemed a bit unorganized, with some delays in getting our orders. A little disappointing.

Ate Yakiniku Gensuen Ueno Ameyoko Branch in Tokyo, Taito-ku, Ueno 4-7-3 Comro Building 4th floor. Certified safe and secure establishment for eating raw meat. They serve fresh Yukke and meat sashimi. A5 rank Wagyu beef assortment of 6 dishes selected by the chef. On this day, they had Zabuton, Shinshin, Matsuzaka beef premium Kalbi, Ichibo, top raw tongue, and lamp. They have a special raw tongue that has never been frozen. The Wagyu beef Kalbi and Yukke are a must-try for raw meat lovers. Inside-inside was my first time trying and it was delicious, with the fat melting in your mouth. You can enjoy eating raw meat that can only be found in health department approved restaurants at a reasonable price. I highly recommend it and will definitely go back. It was so delicious!

Stamina Yakiniku Lunch 1,000 yen Today, I had lunch in Ueno for the second day in a row. I visited this place that opened on September 23rd on the 4th floor of a building diagonally across from the tempura restaurant I visited the previous day. I entered at 12:03, with one customer already there and 11 customers coming in after me. The lunch set includes beef tongue curry, rice, and soup, all you can eat. While I was getting those, the meat, salad, kimchi, and namul arrived at the table. The meat consisted of 4 pieces of pork belly and 7 slices of kalbi. I went light on the rice but loaded up on the beef tongue curry. The beef tongue in the curry was tender and delicious. I ate it as is, without pouring it over the rice, like a stew. The kalbi had a slightly dry texture, with a decent amount of fat, reaching an okay level. The pork belly was irregularly thickly sliced, making it difficult to cook through. Even when grilled, it was too tough to chew, which was a bit disappointing. I made the wrong choice. Ueno is a fierce battleground for yakiniku, and if they continue to serve meat at this level, they might not last a year. But since the beef tongue curry was delicious, I'll let it slide. In September 2022, they opened a new branch in Ueno Ameyoko. I visited for the first time during lunchtime to see if it's not too crowded yet. The third-floor shabu-shabu pot tree is a familiar building to me as I have visited it a few times before. The interior of the restaurant consists of around 10 tables with smokeless roasters. Orders are placed using tablets, which is a modern system. The lunch menu includes curry, soup, rice, and self-service water refill. To be cautious of COVID-19, vinyl gloves are provided for self-service. - Wagyu Kalbi + Yonezawa Pork Set (1,000 yen including tax) Curry, soup, rice, and free refills. Comes with salad, kimchi, and bean sprout namul. The beef curry, with a European touch, is surprisingly delicious with plenty of meat. The best part is that you can have free refills. You can dip the yakiniku in the sauce or the curry, or even make a curry rice bowl. Eating too much during lunchtime might be a challenge. Personally, I am satisfied with just a slightly larger portion of rice (laughs). A lunch service that allows you to have a yakiniku set with plenty of beef and free refills of beef curry is a cheat code. I think it offers the best value for money for yakiniku lunch in the Ueno to Okachimachi area.

I went to the newly opened Yakiniku restaurant, GENU, in Ueno and enjoyed a lot of top-grade A5 Wagyu beef! The store is new and clean, with spacious seating. We had a platter of 6 types of beef, including premium tongue, Wagyu ribs, Wagyu yukhoe, special zabuton (I forgot to take a picture, but the thick zabuton with its sweet and gentle fat melting on the tongue was irresistible). The variety of cuts available due to buying the whole cow was impressive, and the cost performance was outstanding. The premium tongue was so tender and delicious that you might question if it's really tongue. For those who love marbled meat, the zabuton is a must-try. This is a new yakiniku restaurant that I highly recommend! It was crowded even on weekdays, so making a reservation is a must. I can't wait to go back soon. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I went to Hitokura Yakiniku Gen located in Ameyoko, Ueno! It is on the 4th floor of a building, and the atmosphere inside is quiet and relaxed, perfect for enjoying a meal. The concept of buying a whole cow allows them to offer really delicious food at a great price. The 6 kinds of assorted meats were all delicious, my favorite being the tongue and skirt meat. The black wagyu kalbi was only 800 yen, such a great deal! The raw tongue was served without ever being frozen, so it was incredibly fresh. The thick-cut rare cuts were also amazing, I was just so happy eating there. It's located in Ameyoko, Ueno, so definitely give it a try!

I was able to enjoy various cuts of meat that are not usually available, such as lamp, ichibo, shinsin, and subton, thanks to the "one-head purchase" option! They were all very delicious. I forgot to take a photo, but the stone bibimbap was also amazing with plenty of ingredients. The restaurant was clean, and the staff were friendly, making it a wonderful experience. I came to eat the Kalbi of Kuroge Wagyu beef for its overwhelming cost performance of 800 yen! It was rich in marbling, tender, and I was amazed that I could eat it for 800 yen. I had Zabuton steak for the first time, and I could cut it into my favorite size and enjoy it, so I indulged in a large cut. I love Zabuton, but I had only eaten thinly sliced ones before, so being able to cut it into larger pieces and eat it was pure bliss. The fat was sweet, the meat was tender and melt-in-your-mouth, it was amazing. And the most recommended menu at this restaurant is the 6-cut assortment of one whole cow, where you can enjoy the chef's selection of the best 6 cuts of the day! On this day, it was Upper Beef Tongue, Marbled Kalbi, Tatebara, Thinly Sliced Zabuton, Kameno-ko, and Lamp. Kameno-ko and Lamp are lean cuts with less marbling, so you need to be careful not to overcook them as they can become tough, but the meat at Gen-san is so tender that it seems like it would still be delicious even if overcooked! The thinly sliced Zabuton was different from steak, with the sweetness of the fat and the tenderness of the meat directly coming through, it was so melt-in-your-mouth that it felt like it would melt on your tongue at body temperature. The Upper Beef Tongue is also a recommended menu at Gen-san, made from fresh tongue that has never been frozen from shipping to procurement. It has a moderate thickness that allows you to enjoy the unique texture of the tongue, so I think it's irresistible for tongue lovers. It was so delicious that I added extra to fully enjoy it. I also love raw meat, so I ordered the Yukhoe of Kuroge Wagyu beef, and since Gen-san is certified by the Taito Ward Health Center as a facility for the preparation of certified raw meat for consumption, you can enjoy safe and fresh Yukhoe. You mix it with a special Yukhoe sauce after breaking an egg, and this Yukhoe sauce is sweet and delicious. The meat was cut quite large but tender and incredibly delicious. In addition, there are other items such as Senmai sashimi, Kuroge Wagyu beef sashimi, raw sirloin, raw sirloin sushi, and misuji sushi that can only be enjoyed at certified health department stores, so I would like to try these next time I come.

I visited a yakiniku restaurant called "Ichigashiri Yakiniku Gen Ueno Ameyoko Store" in Ameyoko, Ueno. The restaurant also has a branch in Asakusa, which I had visited a few years ago. This time, I visited the newly opened store in September. They purchase a whole black wagyu cow, so they offer black wagyu kalbi and other rare meats at a reasonable price. They also serve Matsusaka beef, and I was able to enjoy some rare meats. The thick-cut zabuton steak was large and delicious. The beef tongue was served fresh, not frozen, and was tender and tasty. The restaurant has a casual atmosphere and offers great value for money, allowing you to enjoy rare meats. Ueno has many yakiniku restaurants, but since this one is located in Ameyoko, it is easy to drop by, and I would like to visit again. I'm also curious about their lunch menu! Thank you for the meal! The meats I tried this time were the Whole Assorted Meat Platter, Raw Beef Tongue, Black Wagyu Kalbi, Black Wagyu Yukke, and Zabuton steak.
