A Sichuan and Cantonese cuisine restaurant located along a street one stop before the First Keihin from Hamamatsucho Station. The restaurant has a simple and stylish appearance with three floors. During lunchtime, the first floor is non-smoking while the second floor allows smoking. Their signature dish is the "Sichuan Mapo Tofu." I visited during a weekday lunchtime. The first floor had two female and one male staff wearing white shirts and black pants. There were two 8-seat round tables on the left side and four 4-seat tables on the right side. As usual, solo diners are seated at the round tables. A slim, fair-skinned girl with a ponytail took my order in somewhat hesitant Japanese. She seemed to be from the north. A bit of a type...maybe. The Sichuan Mapo Tofu set meal cost 850 yen. The girl confirmed, "Is normal okay?" "Huh?" "We can make it less spicy." "Normal, or rather, please make it spicy." Apparently, here, spicy is considered "normal." Now, the Sichuan Mapo Tofu has arrived. Homemade Sichuan pepper is sprinkled on top, looking very spicy. I took a bite, and it hit me hard. Oh! This is spicy, but delicious. After 2-3 bites, I started sweating on my forehead. After eating about a quarter of the Mapo tofu, more than half of the rice was gone. This is bad! Since I have a small appetite and they don't offer rice refills, I need to eat in a balanced manner. I took a break and had the creamy egg and seaweed soup. Then, I tackled the super spicy Mapo tofu again. It's spicy but addictively delicious. My stomach is complaining about the spiciness. I finished it while sweating. I wanted to top the leftover chili oil and Sichuan pepper on rice, but I refrained due to my small appetite. The almond jelly was rich and tasty too.

After a 5-month hiatus, I made a reservation for an all-you-can-drink course with the members in the Tokyo area and visited Tangbun Ki. The shrimp chili goes well with highballs. And for the finale, we indulged in Marubou-don, which the members always look forward to. Is it the chef today or the combination that's good? It's less distinctive than last time and delicious. ⭐︎⭐︎⭐︎

Friday, reservation visit with a 2-hour all-you-can-drink course for 5000 yen including tax! The pace of food delivery is good. First, 3 appetizers arrived - drooling chicken, jellyfish cold dish, and Chinese-style dried tofu salad. I like the drooling chicken. The large prawns in chili sauce are firm and delicious. Dim sum combo (steamed shrimp dumplings, black pork shumai). Black vinegar sweet and sour pork is delicious! The pork tastes like chicken. Mapo tofu with a hint of flower pepper aroma, served with rice. It's nice that rice is included. Today's dessert is almond jelly with strawberry sauce.

I visited on Friday afternoon. It had been a long time since I last came. I had the mapo tofu set lunch for 1,000 yen. The taste was a traditional Sichuan-style mapo tofu. The tofu was firm. I usually prefer silken tofu, but firm tofu gives a nice texture and chewiness. I remember it being quite spicy when I had it years ago, but today it was just the right amount of spiciness that I could enjoy without feeling stressed. It's interesting how our taste buds change over the years. Thank you for the meal. The mapo tofu alone was quite filling.

Finally, it seems like the end of the COVID-19 pandemic is near, and with mask mandates being relaxed, we were able to enjoy a real-life gathering followed by a social event. We had a private room with all-you-can-drink options, and it felt like we were back to pre-COVID times, haha. The shrimp chili and mapo tofu rice bowl were delicious! ⭐︎⭐︎⭐︎

I had been curious about this restaurant for a while. They had a sign saying they had served 80,000 servings of mapo tofu. So, I decided to order the mapo tofu set meal. Oh, I just realized I've had mapo tofu twice in a week...haha. The mapo tofu here is delicious with a strong flavor of Sichuan peppercorns. It's spicy but not too overwhelming. The minced meat doesn't seem to be pork, but it's also tasty. I finished it in no time. I want to try their hot and sour soup noodles next time, so I have to go back!

The atmosphere of the restaurant is neither good nor bad, more suitable for company or friends' gatherings rather than dates or business meetings. The food is delicious and the cost performance of the course menu is very good. With round tables available, it is recommended for large group meals or gatherings.

I went to Hamamatsucho for work and had dinner with friends. It was delicious! The mapo tofu was spicy but tasty, just the way I like it! The flavor of the meat mixed with the tofu was perfect. The tantanmen had a strong sesame flavor and was delicious. The gyoza had a chewy skin and was filled with juicy meat. It was so spicy that I hurriedly ate the almond jelly dessert in one bite. I took some photos afterwards. There was a rotating table in the Chinese restaurant, so I want to come back with a large group next time and try it out.

I'm not a fan of spicy food, but sometimes I crave it. I don't like extremely spicy dishes though... I prefer mildly spicy ones. I ordered mapo tofu and spicy chicken, both with a moderate level of spiciness, which went well with beer. I enjoy Sichuan-style Chinese food.

It was difficult to get the staff's attention to place our first order, which left a not-so-good impression on the service. Overall, thank you for the meal. I would like to visit again for lunch and simply enjoy the mapo tofu.

I visited for lunch. The restaurant has three floors, and it seems like smoking is allowed on the upper floors. There were many foreign staff members. I had the "gomoku yu-men" on the first floor. The soup was hot, but the noodles felt lukewarm and unique. It seemed like the noodles were boiled, transferred to a bowl, and then topped with the gomoku ingredients. Perhaps some time had passed during this process, or maybe the noodles were exposed to the air conditioning. Both hot and fresh noodles are delicious, so it was disappointing. They also had low-carb noodles. My companion ordered them, and they were slightly thinner than regular noodles. They didn't taste very low-carb, though.

For the final round of my lunch exploration at the office, I went to Tang Bunkei to eat Mapo Tofu. I always order the "Mapo Tofu set meal," and even though I'm not a fan of spicy food, the level of spiciness is just right and it's delicious. I used to not prefer Mapo Tofu, but the taste at this restaurant completely changed my perception.

I entered the restaurant around 11:30 am on a weekday. I didn't have to wait in line, but it can get crowded quickly due to being in an office district. The food was served in about 5 minutes. When I tried the mapo tofu, I thought it wasn't too spicy at first... but then the spiciness hit me slowly and it was really hot. I couldn't stop sweating. However, if you like spicy food, you would enjoy it. The egg drop soup was also delicious. I wouldn't recommend it to those who don't like spicy food. I would like to try other dishes on the menu next time. Thank you for the meal.

Most lunchtime in restaurants ends at 13:30, but it's okay here even if it's past that time! This time, I ordered a spicy stir-fried chicken and vegetable dish. In about 5 minutes, the dish arrived and it was indeed deliciously spicy, just as the name suggests. Sometimes in other places, the dish can be overly oily, but not here. The level of oil was just right. The seasoning of the vegetables was also delicious, and the balance of the lunch set was good. Of course, I finished it all without leaving anything behind.

I revisited my favorite restaurant in the Shibadaimon area, "Toubun Ki," for their mapo tofu. Even though I'm not a fan of spicy food, the Sichuan mapo tofu here has just the right amount of heat and is deliciously addictive. The round table I sat at had personal dividers installed for each individual.

Attracted by the enticing phrase "Sichuan Mapo Tofu has exceeded 50,000 servings", I entered the restaurant. The interior was clean and well-maintained. I believed the information that you could choose the spiciness level of the Mapo Tofu from 1 to 5, but to my surprise, they were not offering it at the moment. If I had known that they only had the regular spiciness level, I wouldn't have entered in the first place. However, I couldn't just leave, so I ordered the Mapo Tofu, medium-sized rice, and a highball. It was served promptly. The dish had a nice presentation with Sichuan peppercorns sprinkled on top. When I took a bite, I felt a mild spiciness and numbness. It was clearly targeting around a 2-3 spiciness level, not 1. Although it was slightly lacking in intensity, it had just enough kick and I finished it. It would be just right for those seeking a moderate level of stimulation in their Mapo Tofu.

I revisited the Sichuan cuisine restaurant "Tang Wen Ji" in the Shibadaimon area. I'm not a big fan of spicy food, but the mapo tofu here has just the right amount of spiciness and tastes amazing. The soup, zasai, and almond jelly were also delicious.

Located right near Daimon Station. The outside sign of the restaurant is impressive and catches your eye immediately. The staff explain the dishes diligently, which is very appreciated. The food is very easy to eat, with a good amount that satisfies. They were offering a great deal of all-you-can-drink for 1,000 yen per hour. I would definitely like to visit again.

I don't usually eat mapo tofu, but I visited "Tang Wen Ji" for the first time because it is known for its Sichuan-style mapo tofu. Even though I'm not a fan of spicy food, the mapo tofu here was really delicious, living up to its reputation as the signature dish.
