Takebayashi is not available for reservations, but in a way, it is easy to use. The evening session opens at 4:30 pm, so if you go at that time, you are unlikely to be turned away. This time, I had plans in Yurakucho starting at 12 pm, which is a tricky time for lunch. To avoid getting too hungry, I decided to grab a light meal before the event and then wait until 4:30 pm to have an early dinner at Takebayashi. This way, I wouldn't be too full to enjoy the meal. As planned, there were only a few customers when we arrived, so we were seated on the second floor where there were tatami mats and table seating. I opted for the A course set meal, which cost around 7000 yen. The appetizers included simmered sweet potatoes, pickled mackerel, and chawanmushi, followed by a generous serving of sashimi. The liver dish was a bit challenging for me, but the grilled eel in the set meal was delicious. The eel was tender, and the sauce was not too sweet, which I liked. The meal ended with a slice of melon, which was perfectly ripe and very tasty. Overall, the course meal was satisfying, although a bit pricey. Eating eel in the summer gives a nice seasonal touch. The restaurant, which was almost empty when we arrived, gradually filled up as the night in Ginza on a Sunday was just beginning.

The famous restaurant Takebayashi in Ginza does not take reservations. They advised me to arrive around 11:30 when they open to avoid crowds. When I arrived, there were already two women waiting in line. Soon after, five more groups lined up behind me. I thought everyone was here for the eel, but I was mistaken. The popular dishes for lunch are the sea bream and tuna rice bowls, with the eel being the next popular choice. We decided to try the rice bowls as well, and they were delicious. The sea bream rice bowl was exceptionally tasty, and the tuna was of high quality. They finish the meal with roasted green tea, which was a nice touch. The restaurant has a well-thought-out concept that attracts a larger market, especially female customers. Their menu offers flexibility in pricing and a lower waste rate. The eel dishes are lightly seasoned, and the eel bowl is a must-try. The rice is thinly spread, creating a perfect balance with the eel. This is a well-balanced meal.

The eel rice bowl comes with pickles, but no liver sashimi. The steamed eel is soft and the bones are not bothersome. The flesh is somewhat light and slightly bland, but better than overly fatty ones. The sauce is also light, giving an overall refreshing taste. There were mistakes in the order and the politeness of the staff can change based on appearance (switching from formal to casual language). Additionally, the cost performance is not good, so the only reason to come here is for the sense of luxury. Personally, I will definitely not revisit.

I arrived after 2:00 PM. It was just in time for the last order, but they kindly welcomed me in. I chose the eel bowl from the menu. The eel was nicely glazed with sauce, and had a deliciously crispy and tender texture from being grilled slowly. The meat was very soft and fluffy, and overall it was very tasty. The eel bowl had two large pieces of eel on top, and I was very satisfied!

I thought it was quite unusual that there was no ranking like "Matsu, Take, Ume" for the eel oju and kimoyaki I ordered. The atmosphere and price of the restaurant are not bad, considering its location in Ginza. However, if you are looking for just the taste of unaju, there may be better restaurants in Tokyo. Overall, the restaurant gives a sophisticated impression. I saw an elegant elderly person enjoying grilled eel with sake, which added to the picturesque scene. It seems like the restaurant is suitable for such refined dining experiences.

I visited towards the end of the Obon holiday. I arrived a little after 11 o'clock and entered the restaurant for the first round. I ordered a bottle of beer, sea bream cha-don without rice, unagi-don, and liver sashimi. As I was drinking my beer, the sea bream cha-don arrived first, and I enjoyed the rich aroma of sesame. Soon after, the unagi-don also arrived. The taste of the sauce was refreshing and to my liking. The aroma was also fragrant, and I finished it in no time. The price for this location was very reasonable. The atmosphere of the restaurant was filled with a sense of tradition, and it was very relaxing to sit there.

In the summer, I crave eel, so I went to the well-established restaurant Takebayashi in Ginza. I ordered eel rice bowl, pickles, omelette, grilled eel, and eel over rice. The omelette was on the sweeter side, which was unusual but tasty with a hint of dashi. The eel was soft and tender, more on the moist side. The sauce on the eel rice bowl was a bit less than I expected, but it was still delicious. I really love eel! Takebayashi is known for its popular lunch menu, and I want to try their sea bream rice bowl next time. Thank you for the meal.

I fell for the marketing of the midsummer day of the ox and had been craving eel for a few days. I had already eaten eel from the supermarket, but my craving was not satisfied, so I decided to try a popular eel restaurant I noticed in Ginza. This restaurant doesn't take reservations, which is part of its charm. I had to wait a bit, but I was seated without any issues. I ordered the "Unagi Oju" (4,180 yen) which is served in a lacquered box. They explained that it doesn't come with soup, and I said it was okay, but later I regretted not trying the liver soup. The eel was tender and moist, not too fatty, and had a light and elegant sauce. I thoroughly enjoyed the eel box. This satisfied my eel craving for now. I realized that despite being from Kansai, I haven't eaten much Kansai-style eel, so I want to explore that in the future.

I visited Takebayashi in Singapore last month, and this was my first time visiting the Ginza branch. Since reservations are not accepted, I arrived at the restaurant at 7 o'clock, but they close at 8 o'clock, so I quickly placed my order. I had a side dish, eel roll, sashimi platter, along with the original sake from the restaurant called Takebayashi. Finally, I enjoyed an eel rice bowl and successfully finished my meal. I couldn't take many photos due to time constraints, but the eel rice bowl was very delicious!

The taste and service were both excellent! My friend and I went together and we were both very satisfied. The staff were kind and it made us happy. We had to wait in line, but surprisingly we were seated fairly quickly, maybe because it was a weekday. It was my first visit based on my friend's recommendation, but I would love to go again!

I always wanted to visit Takebayashi. If you want to have a leisurely course dinner at night, you might want to go to the main store, but if you want a quick lunch with eel rice bowl, the Ginza store is more convenient. I arrived 10 minutes before opening on a weekday afternoon and there were about 15 people waiting in line. Normally, you might have to wait for about an hour at a regular restaurant, but while sipping beer and picking at the rolled omelette, the eel rice bowl arrived in about 20 minutes. This speed was quite pleasing. The eel was tender and the sauce was delicious without being too sweet. There was plenty of rice, so if you don't eat much, you might want to go for the eel bowl instead. You should definitely try the liver for an extra 300 yen. The rolled omelette was on the sweeter side. I was able to relax in the cool restaurant. The staff were experienced and very friendly. I had no complaints at all!

I don't usually go out on weekends, but today I visited Ginza for the first time in a while because I wanted to eat eel. I arrived late but they were still open! I was so happy 😊 The eel at Takebayashi is delicately seasoned, and I love how they pair it with sansho pepper to bring out each other's flavors. I wish they would offer it as a set with the liver sashimi. I will definitely come back again. It was delicious, thank you for the meal!

I couldn't make a reservation at this eel restaurant, but I was able to get inside in about 5 minutes and then sit at my table in another 5 minutes. The portion of rice was just right, and the food was very delicious. I wish they could take reservations as it's tough to line up in the scorching sun.

Hmm, the taste and portion size are kind of underwhelming. I want to try eel dishes with better service and variety. It seems like this place might not last long. I had high hopes, so I'm really disappointed with this bento. I hope they learn from Nishimura. Actually, maybe they should just try Nishimura's eel dishes themselves!

I visited "Takebayatei Ginza Store". [Food log 3.56] Just a 1-minute walk from Ginza Station, located on the corner of Ginza 4-chome intersection, opposite Ginza Mitsukoshi, this is a long-established eel restaurant that has been in business for over 100 years since the end of the Edo period. There is also a branch of Takebayatei in Kansai that was founded as a branch of the Tokyo Takebayatei. This restaurant does not accept reservations. On Sunday around 5:45 pm, it was bustling, with only 2 tables left in the basement table seats. - Eel rice bowl 4,180 yen When you remove the lid of the bowl, you will meet the fluffy eel. The eel is soft and the sauce is light, with sufficient volume. I was a little concerned about the small bones (maybe more than others). The service, such as pouring tea and water, was polite as expected from a long-established restaurant. The eel rice bowl, which can be eaten without hesitation, seemed to be what my body needed, already feeling exhausted from the sudden heat. Considering the prime location, the price was reasonable. There were about 5 people waiting in the store when I left. It seems that tickets are issued at lunchtime. Thank you for the meal.

I went to Ginza without making a lunch reservation and everywhere had long lines. Luckily, I happened to pass by Takebayashi-tei, which had space for one group. Yay! I couldn't decide between eel and sea bream tea-soaked rice, but I ended up choosing eel! I opted for an eel bowl instead of an eel box since I didn't think I could eat that much. The eel bowl seemed to have a similar amount of food as the eel box...maybe it's a good deal. The tender eel and rice was delicious. I enjoyed it very much.

On a regular day, I visited Takehachi Gintei in Ginza for a slightly late solo lunch. The location is just a 1-minute walk from Ginza Station, across from Mitsukoshi. Takehachi Gintei has a great location in Ginza and is a very convenient eel restaurant. I arrived around 2:00 PM. The elegant facade and interior of the restaurant caught my eye. There are a total of 70 seats from B1F to 2F. I chose a table seat on the 2F. There is sansho pepper on the table and chopsticks are already set. After being seated, I was served warm tea and a hot towel. Takehachi Gintei offers only one type of eel dish, without different grades (they also have eel bowls). This time, I ordered the Eel Oju (4,180 yen) in a large portion, and the liver (330 yen), totaling 4,510 yen. The dishes arrived in less than 20 minutes. The eel was not too soft, but had a fluffy and easy-to-eat texture. The sauce was not too sweet, making the overall eel dish very elegant. With no different grades and this quality for 4,180 yen, the cost performance is quite high considering the location and current market prices. The liver is also a must-order at 330 yen. With its great location and ample seating, Takehachi Gintei is a convenient choice for entertaining guests in Ginza at short notice. I recommend visiting this restaurant.

Arrived at 11:20 on Sunday. The ticket number was 27. They opened at 11:30 and served up to number 25, so I waited for about 30 minutes. I was seated and ordered, and the eel rice bowl and eel liver soup arrived at 12:20. The wait was worth it for the unchanged deliciousness. Eel is something I always crave when it gets hot. Compared to other famous eel restaurants, this place is relatively affordable, but I hope they don't raise their prices.

The eel nanbanzuke was refreshing and elegant, a delicious dish. The dashimaki tamago was slightly sweet. The simmered vegetables were tasty and light. The eel was tender, the sauce was not too strong, and the rice was slightly firm and delicious. The only downside was that some dishes arrived too quickly, causing them to cool down.

I suddenly had to eat eel and found out that I could eat it quickly at Takehatei. I have been here before, but I always find the small eel bones annoying. This time, the bones got to me again, haha. The shrimp shinjo and mozuku were delicious though! ⭐️5⭐️ I want to come here again. I love it so much that I don't want to tell anyone about it. ⭐️4⭐️ If someone asks for a recommendation, I will introduce this place. ⭐️3⭐️ Maybe I'll go again. ⭐️2⭐️ Hmm, I'd prefer to try a different restaurant if possible. ⭐️1⭐️ Personally, I don't recommend it ‍♀️ Instagram @tokyo_gourmet_yokutaberuko Tabelog: Yoku taberu ko / Tokyo gourmet On Instagram, I only introduce restaurants that I rated 4 or 5 stars on Tabelog ✨

I was able to walk in without waiting during the day. The sea bream in the sea bream tea pickles was plentiful, but it didn't feel as rich, so I ate it as a bowl instead of tea pickles. Compared to the famous sea bream tea pickles shops in Ginza, it felt a bit expensive. The restaurant was spacious, so I was able to relax.
