I ordered the fried chicken bento from this restaurant that always has a line of 30 people for lunch. The daily special looked delicious, but this time I tried the fried chicken bento. The volume was so big that the lid wouldn't close properly, and the homemade side dishes were tasty. The grandma working there, though not very friendly, seemed kind of cute in a way. Even though lunch in the Hamamatsucho area can be expensive, this bento was only 600 yen, so it's a good deal. I'll definitely come back again. 😊笑笑

I decided to eat Kawano's bento. I was really hungry, so I bought a bento and quickly ate it in the nearby park. The chunks of bacon were delicious with a nice texture. I love this dynamic feeling that you can't get at chain bento shops.

I visited this restaurant for lunch on a regular weekday. It was crowded at times, with a long line that got me excited. They had about five menu options, and I ordered the daily bento box. The shrimp mayonnaise was creamy and paired well with the rice. For 600 yen, I was very satisfied with the portion size and I definitely want to come back regularly.

Recently... I had a sad experience... I had to resign from a job that I had been working hard at. As I was walking back from an interview for a new job, feeling down, I saw a familiar convenience store in the distance. I had just moved here on October 3rd. It turned out to be a Seven-Eleven near Mr. Kawano's place. After finishing the interview and aptitude test around 12:00, even though I had no appetite and didn't feel like eating, I peeked inside the convenience store to see what the menu was for the day. It was saury, which I like among fish. But I hesitated because it would be inconvenient to carry and I might not even eat it. However, since I rarely come across this opportunity, I ended up buying it. The day was chilly with a slight drizzle, so I also bought soup to warm up along with my lunch. I thought I could maybe eat the soup since it was a cold day. The soup I bought that day was beef kalbi soup, which I chose without looking at anything else. I wanted something warm to drink. Normally, I would have bought the shrimp mayo, which I heard was popular, but I refrained from it since I might not eat it. Resigning was a shock and the work environment was difficult to continue in. I had to quit, but the way I left and the irresponsibility of abandoning the job midway left a bad taste in my mouth. I was angry at myself for not being able to endure it. I have to move on. I decided in my heart to get a qualification, work hard, gain experience, and get a job where I can help others. The beef kalbi soup was as always, full of ingredients and very filling. It warmed me up and filled my stomach. It had beef, wood ear mushrooms, daikon radish, lotus root, green onions, bean sprouts, enoki mushrooms, carrots, tofu, shimeji mushrooms, and burdock, among others. The abundance of ingredients, the umami of the vegetables, and the beef broth made it very satisfying. The rice in the bento was brown rice. I couldn't finish it all that day, so I saved some for dinner and breakfast the next day. The saury was soft and boneless, so I could eat it as it is, and the miso flavor was delicious. The side dish of konjac and white sesame was mild and light, seeming good for the body. I forgot to order "nukinuki," but the cheese croquette was tasty. The bamboo shoots and green beans had a nice color and texture. The bamboo shoots were chunky and I liked the texture. The bento was satisfying for my weakened body. I need to recover quickly, focus on work, gain experience, and work hard to be able to say proudly that I am doing my best for that person I respect.

Kawanos' Famous Fried Chicken Bento (550 yen) - I decided to get my lunch for teleworking at home from a local spot today, so I headed to Hamamatsucho. My target was "Kawanos," which is known as a popular bento shop with long-standing history since 1980. The location is a bit off the beaten path, right in the middle of Onarimon, Daimon, and Shiodome. I arrived around 1:30 pm, avoiding the lunchtime rush, and there was only one customer ahead of me. As I observed the customer ahead of me, I noticed that they received their bento and then went to the self-serve soup station to pour soup into their cup. Maybe the miso soup is a service for bento customers? It turns out it costs 100 yen, but it's a hearty soup with 10 ingredients (that day's was miso soup with grilled mackerel). The customer ahead of me barely put any soup in their cup and filled it mostly with ingredients, haha. The bento menu includes daily specials like grilled beef tongue, fugu sashimi rice bowl, giant spotted halibut, a bento with more side dishes and less rice, as well as the classic fried chicken bento and minced meat cutlet bento. The daily specials seem to offer better value, but as a fried chicken enthusiast, I had to go with the fried chicken bento for my first visit! The bento is priced at 550 yen each, and the lineup includes a variety of side dishes. I bought the fried chicken bento and quickly headed home. The bento was still warm as I had it in my insulated bag, but the side dishes were a bit cold. Nevertheless, I decided to enjoy it as is. The bento had a generous portion, with about five small pieces of fried chicken (including some bite-sized pieces). It also came with croquette, sausage, boiled komatsuna greens, pickled radish, and rice sprinkled with black sesame seeds. I started with the fried chicken, which had a crispy flour-based coating with a soy sauce and aromatic vegetable marinade (ginger and garlic). It was delicious and had a nice balance of flavors. The croquette seemed like it was a frozen one, but it had a moist potato filling with a crunchy exterior. The sausage was the classic red one, which was a nostalgic treat. The boiled komatsuna greens and fried tofu had a nice texture and a mild flavor. The rice was packed tightly and cooked perfectly, making it a tasty accompaniment to the meal. Overall, I was satisfied with the bento, which not only had delicious fried chicken but also a variety of side dishes. The bento was well-balanced and seemed to be a healthier option. The portion size was also generous, making it a satisfying meal for anyone. The price of 550 yen was reasonable, considering the quality and quantity of food. However, I can't help but think that the daily specials or the fish bento might offer even better value. Adding 100 yen for a hearty miso soup with lots of ingredients would be a nice touch. All in all, it was a delicious and satisfying meal, and I would definitely recommend Kawanos for a tasty and affordable bento experience.

The conveyor belt moves fast so you can quickly grab what you want. The regular customers seem to know the menu well, but as a newcomer, I was unsure and ended up choosing the daily special, which had a lot of fried items that I didn't enjoy. It's important to check the menu beforehand. Overall, the quality was decent for the price (550 yen including tax). It was tasty.

I had the daily special bento at a popular bento shop in Shinbashi. Today's main dish was curry croquette, and I chose fried chicken as the side dish. It cost 700 yen in total. The rice today was sakura shrimp rice, which made the side dishes a bit more sophisticated than usual. The side dishes included fried sausage, simmered eggplant and green pepper, cabbage, and mushroom miso soup. They were all quite tasty. While not exceptional, it was enjoyable to have a different menu every day. On another day, the daily special included sirloin steak, fish fry, simmered potatoes, cold chicken and cucumber, and rolled omelette. I was very satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

Hamamatsucho lunch series. Today, I procured a bento from Kawanosan, a bento shop in Higashi Shinbashi 2-chome. It has been 7 years since I last used this shop when it was located in Hamamatsucho 1-chome. This is my first time using this shop. It used to be 500 yen, but now it's 550 yen. Still cheap compared to the area. Cheap and delicious bento. Today, I chose the "fish bento". It was a grilled salted cherry salmon bento. The fish was thick and satisfying. The side dishes were also delicious. Daikon and chingensai with bonito sauce, and mayonnaise-covered noodles, a fried dish. Especially the bonito sauce, it was well made. As a side dish for a bento, it was quite well done. It's a popular number one bento shop that is cheap and delicious, but the purchasing system is confusing. Beginners may be confused. Oh, by the way, congratulations to the shop owner who returned from the hospital.

The place I wanted to try once due to its reputation for great bento boxes. With the ongoing threat of the coronavirus, the options for takeout have become limited, so it's necessary to visit bento shops like this one. When it comes to bento shops, cost performance is key, and this shop offers popular options like fried chicken bento for 550 yen and a hearty fish bento also for 550 yen, which are quite a bargain considering the contents. The side dishes are also extensive, with options like macaroni salad and spinach salad for 100 yen each, along with soup for 100 yen. The taste is decent, not bad, and the generous portions make it a great value for money. It may be a bit confusing for first-timers as regulars order smoothly and even pack their own items into bags or pour their own soup. It seems like this bento shop targets foodies who are also budget-conscious regulars.

I had the Fish Bento with Brown Rice (600 yen). The main dish was my favorite, mackerel and spicy cod roe! The rice was delicious. The side dishes of salted radish, dried fish tempura, and green bean stew were all well-balanced with mild flavors. Overall, it was so tasty! Thank you for the meal! ✨

I had the Fish Bento with Brown Rice (600 yen). The fish was oily and delicious! The Menchi Katsu on top of the rice had a nice texture with lotus root. The mustard greens (I think that's what it was) had a surprisingly good flavor. All the side dishes went really well with the brown rice!

I had the fish bento with brown rice (600 yen). The red snapper is large and covers the other side dishes. (laughs) When you move the red snapper, you can see squid daikon and cream croquette as well. This is a great deal for only 600 yen!

I visited during the day, the location and service were the same as usual. I ordered a fish bento box for 550 yen. The rice was dry. The fish was marinated and grilled, but small. It came with vegetable pickles, cream croquette, and sweet potato in syrup, which were okay. Overall, it was decent for the price, but one bento box wasn't satisfying enough. It felt like they were trying to compensate with the sweet potato today.

After my chiropractic session today, I went to "Obento no Kawanoya" again. I had the fish bento with brown rice (550 yen). It seemed like they were having a New Year's first sale because there was a barrel filled with rice crackers next to the register! The staff even said, "Take some rice crackers home with you." There was a sign that said "Help yourself to a handful," so I gratefully took some before leaving.

Visited during lunchtime, located near Onarimon Station and Daimon Station at a crossroads. The menu for the day can be checked on a blackboard. The service was a bit rushed. It's better to confirm the order at the signboard first. The daily special bento (meat) costs 550 yen. The rice is delicious. The main dish is roast beef scraps. The potato salad has pickled radish in it. The fried food has curry flavor with cheese inside. The rolled omelette and syrup-soaked sweet potato are average. Overall, it's a good value for the price. Today's side dishes were so-so. The fish bento was sold out.

I wanted to eat something specific and went to Komyo Ikiki Plaza, but it was sold out. So, I reluctantly went back to Italy Street. I passed by the location of the first office of the company I used to work for. The bento shop I used to frequent back then is still thriving. I got a fish bento with freshly grilled culture mackerel! It was a generous portion. Thank you for the meal.

Before December 2018, whenever I passed by this lunchbox shop, there was always a long line. I was curious if the food was really that good. This time, I was able to go before 11:30 AM and luckily there was no line. The daily lunchbox was 550 yen, and that day it was something like pork liver. It was quite filling and the flavor was decently rich, overall a good experience. However, I would prefer to avoid the long lines, so if I go again, I'll try to go at a different time.

Shiodome (Higashi-Shimbashi) Italian street corner. A popular bento shop. Known as the "bento shop with a line," it has been featured on TV gourmet shows. The menu includes about 5 types of bentos, all priced at 550 yen. Options include daily bento, fish bento, today's bowl, healthy bento without fried food, menchi bento, and karaage bento. You can choose between white rice or brown rice at the same price. You can also customize the portion size for an additional fee. Side dishes are all 100 yen and include fried foods, omelettes, simmered dishes, vegetables, and pickles. The rice is quite tasty and the overall balance of the bento is good. The lineup changes almost daily, making it convenient for those who can't decide what to eat. The shop starts to get busy around 11 am, but the line moves quickly. If you change your mind, there are other options nearby like "Donmaru" or the café "Green Grass" for curry bentos or curry. Always a delicious meal.

A bento shop in Shinbashi where long lines form. During lunchtime, it's crowded with office workers. They offer daily specials, fish, fried chicken, minced meat cutlets, and rice bowls, but I usually go for the daily special or fish. Today, I got the fish bento with salt-grilled Kinugasaba. When I opened the bento, I was surprised by the size of the fish - it was overflowing from the box! And all this for only 550 yen. I opted for brown rice instead of white rice for some extra fiber. It was delicious, but I am completely full now. Thank you for the meal.

I made a mistake by not checking the daily lunch box menu and ended up with croquettes which I don't like.
