Ninja-themed restaurant in Asakusa underground street. The owner dresses as a ninja. With the return of inbound tourism, there are many foreign customers. Most seats are on the terrace. I had a draft beer with fish & chips. One free candy with each drink. It's nostalgic to have my last outdoor drink of 2022 under the oldest underground street in Japan, under the bare fluorescent lights.

I visited Asakusa for a pub crawl and happened to find this place in an underground mall. The wall covered with one-cup sake was very cute and would likely appeal to foreigners! I also loved that the tables had tabletop games. The drinks and food didn't have much of a standout feature though. The concept of using a sword key for the restroom was fun and the attention to detail was enjoyable! Thank you for the meal.

Category: Favorite Izakaya (Tokyo) Today's walk is towards Asakusa. Avoid the crowded Sumida Park and head underground. Asakusa underground shopping street has a nice atmosphere. Let's take a break at "NINJABAR" for a moment. Starting with a bourbon on the rocks. After visiting two standing bars, we sit at the outdoor table. The concept seems to be ninja-themed. It reminds me of the beloved "Shadow Warriors." Shadows are just shadows. They can never become light. They live in the corner of the world, away from the glitter. Not the ace-level shadows like Hattori Hanzo. They are the sad ones who get killed by those in power. Maybe they are like Zennosuke from the Shadow Warriors Bakumatsu series? Finally, let's have a cup of sake. We'll have the Sasaiichi from Yamanashi Prefecture. It's a rich and delicious honjozo nama sake. A type I love. Speaking of Sasaiichi, they also have a cup with the names of the "Takeda Twenty-Four Generals." I learned history from this cup. Fond memories. Well, it's time to head back. Thank you for the meal! After playing in Asakusa for a bit, I decided to take a look at the underground shopping area on my way back. I ended up having a drink because the popular Kamiya Bar had a long line. Apparently, the opposite side across the passageway has turned into a pub-like place, which used to be busy with inbound tourists. It seems like it's in a dormant period now. Asakusa underground shopping street was established in 1955 and is currently the oldest in Japan. It seems to extend diagonally across the road from the shopping street to Matsuya. The Ginza Line has been around since 1927. I wonder if next year or sometime in the future, when overseas visitors can come again, people will gather in this retro mysterious space.

**Short Review** In the famous underground shopping street of Asakusa, a Ninja-themed bar has emerged, standing out with its overwhelming uniqueness. NINJA, festivals, celebratory toasts, one-cup sake, anime... Japanese traditions are just so festive. The Ninjas, masters of hospitality, warmly welcome you. Full of jokes and anecdotes, this spot is recommended for all alcohol enthusiasts, both locals and foreigners. **Store Info/Service Review** Located directly connected to Tokyo Metro Asakusa Station, within Japan's oldest underground shopping street. 20 seats at the counter and tables. The good-looking Ninjas are always kind and will surely create a fun time for you. Closed on Tuesdays (for Ninja training), open on weekdays from 5:00 PM to 11:30 PM (weekends from 3:00 PM). No reservations, smoking allowed, credit cards and electronic money accepted. **Menu Selection** Refer to additional comments and posted images. When seated, they offer unlimited popcorn with a strong salty flavor to go with your drinks. You can purchase canned foods and snacks on the spot, which is innovative. You get a Ninja card for each drink. Collect 3 cards for a chance to spin the roulette!? **Recommended Drink Menu** Start with the "Festival Highball (280 yen)" for a celebratory toast! Cheers and a longevity charm will appear. And of course, the one-cup sake! A variety from all over Japan. Daily specials, dry or sweet, choose your preferred taste, including the Ninja's recommendation. As a bar, they also have a great selection of standard drinks. "NINJA LAGER BEER (680 yen)" and RTD bottles were available, with labels from a certain manufacturer. **Budget Estimate/Cost-Performance Review** Around 1,000 to 2,000 yen per person. Full of entertainment! A fun time is priceless. Personally, I rate the cost-performance as excellent. **Closing Remarks/Notes** Thanks to the wonderful Ninjas, I had a really enjoyable time. This is a must-visit spot! The owner is definitely a quirky character in a good way (laughs). I plan to invite someone else to the world of Ninjas soon.

This is a place where you can meet real handsome ninja with a charming voice. You can have a fun chat with the friendly ninja manager, enjoy a wide range of drinks from Japanese sake to cocktails, and choose from a variety of snacks like canned food, snacks, and dried foods. And for someone like me who can't drink, they even offered mint ice cream. The background music in the shop ranges from oldies to Western music, making it a fun place where even strangers can easily drink together. I'll definitely come back to visit again.

To be honest, I didn't plan to stop here, I was just passing by on my way to the bathroom. As I walked past the front of the store, BOOWY started playing from somewhere, and as a die-hard fan, I decided to have a drink while listening. The store had a vibe that seemed like it would appeal to foreigners, but the highlight was definitely the store manager dressed as a ninja! With each drink I had, something inside me seemed to burst, and eventually I even transformed into a Super Saiyan, and my wife and kids ended up cosplaying too! It's a great place to have fun drinking with alcohol and cosplay!

◆Asakusa Underground Shopping Street Ninja Bar (NINJABAR) Standing Bar◆ I had some free time in Asakusa, so I decided to check out the newly opened Ninja Bar (NINJABAR) in the oldest underground shopping street in Japan, Asakusa Underground Shopping Street. It's more of a standing bar than a standing drink place. It's quite stylish for a place in Asakusa Underground Shopping Street. I observed while sipping on a highball for only 400 yen. The coasters are in the shape of shurikens. The staff are friendly, making it a good place for a quick drink. It's perfectly fine for a woman to visit alone. If this place becomes popular, it will surely change the atmosphere of Asakusa Underground Shopping Street.

NINNJABAR is located in an underground drinking alley directly connected to Asakusa Station. You can enjoy various types of one-cup sake here. The food mainly consists of canned items, which are warmed up before serving. I was surprised by how much content is actually in the cans. There are dozens of one-cup sake options available, making it a great spot for sake lovers. However, all the one-cup sake is served at room temperature, which can feel too warm especially during the summer. It may be difficult to have a fridge to store all the sake considering the space and variety available at the restaurant. This was the only disappointing aspect. Most Japanese sake is best enjoyed at a temperature lower than room temperature. The owner of NINNJA is said to be a very kind person.
