[Taste] Delicious [Appearance] Taiyaki [Ambiance] Takeout [Cost performance] Average Taiyaki taken out. It's not freshly made, but it's decently tasty without any unpleasant flavors. It's not packed full of red bean paste, but it's just right, making it a normal, yet delicious taiyaki.

In January 2017, I took a stroll around Mizue Station on the Toei Shinjuku Line. There is a taiyaki shop on the basement floor of the building in front of Mizue Station where Don Quijote is located. I often go for lunch around Mizue and stumbled upon this taiyaki shop. I ordered the cream taiyaki for 130 yen, and it was delicious. The filling may look small in the photo, but it was satisfying. The main branch of this taiyaki shop seems to be located in Miyagi Prefecture. Overall, I would rate it 3.00 out of 5.

I used it for lunch on July 9, 2016. I had planned to go out for dinner, so I tried to resist eating lunch. But I couldn't resist ( ̄▽ ̄) lol It was already past 3pm, so I couldn't eat a heavy meal. Then I found a taiyaki shop! And they had a limited-time menu with chilled melon taiyaki!? I decided to give it a try (=゚ω゚)ノ I ordered the chilled Furano melon taiyaki (180 yen). When I received the product, it was cold! The taiyaki shop here uses a chewy dough, which is totally different from regular taiyaki. It does go well with melon. I will definitely try it again when I pass by ( *`ω´) I hope this information is helpful.

Ruiju Station is right next to it, on the basement floor of Don Quijote. It is adjacent to a Summit Store. I visited around 1 pm on a weekday. It is a taiyaki specialty shop, but there are not many types of taiyaki available. Red bean paste, cream 130 yen, Ghana milk chocolate, sakura mochi-style taiyaki 170 yen. Since it was March 3rd, Hina Matsuri, I decided to try the sakura mochi-style taiyaki. The taiyaki with what appears to be red bean paste is stocked in the showcase, but the sakura mochi-style taiyaki that I ordered had to be taken out from the back in a styrofoam container. Well, it can't be helped, but styrofoam... it kind of ruins the mood. If it was freshly baked, I would have eaten it on the spot, but I'll have it when I get home. It's slightly small for 170 yen. When you cut the pure white taiyaki, you see pink filling, which looks beautiful. When you taste it, the chewy texture of the dough combined with the fragrant and appropriately sweet sakura filling really gives you the feeling of eating sakura mochi. Due to its location, it seems like many customers use it on their way back from shopping. There were about 2 more groups waiting after me. The people after me were buying multiple red bean paste taiyaki, so maybe the red bean paste taiyaki is also delicious.

During my shopping trip, I couldn't resist buying freshly baked taiyaki after hearing the announcement. I prefer cream filling, so I bought both the crispy-skinned and soft-skinned taiyaki with cream. The crispy one was indeed crispy, but it had hollow spaces inside probably due to the thin skin. Although the cream was decent, I was a bit disappointed with the hollow spaces. On the other hand, the white taiyaki had a chewy skin and was filled with cream from head to tail. While preferences may vary, I personally preferred the white taiyaki and would like to have it again. Additionally, both the red bean paste and cream taiyaki cost 100 yen each. They are a good snack option for when you're feeling a bit peckish.

Oh, this place has a kind of B-class gourmet feel to it, right? The white taiyaki here is pretty good. If it's 100 yen, it could be a nice little souvenir maybe, since the white color is somewhat unique. I wanted to try the custard filling, but my boyfriend insisted on red bean paste, so I ended up getting white bean paste. However, the bean paste was not too sweet, had a good texture, and I ended up liking it. The only disappointing thing is that you can't eat it fresh out of the oven! Maybe it's because it's only 100 yen, but it's just sad when they hand it to you from the stock next to the register. Once the taiyaki boom is over, I hope they bring in Tsukiji Gin-dako!

This is a taiyaki shop that opened in one corner of the supermarket. As a taiyaki lover, I was very curious about this shop from the beginning. They offer two types of taiyaki: thin-skinned and thick-skinned, with fillings such as sweet bean paste, cream, and seasonal flavors (changing monthly?). I prefer thin-skinned taiyaki, so I ordered the sweet bean paste filling. While you can eat it on the spot, it was late so I took it to go. When I tried it, the thin skin was crispy as expected. The sweet bean paste was just the right sweetness and to my liking... but the texture of the skin was oddly different. I wondered what was different as I ate, and realized when I reached the edge of the taiyaki! The base of the skin is the same as the thick-skinned taiyaki. That's why it has a texture that I don't like, a bit chewy. ...I still think that the standard wheat flour thin skin is delicious. The filling is very much to my liking, but I probably won't buy it again.
