Located halfway between Roppongi Station and Roppongi-itchome Station, along a main street about a 10-minute walk away, is a familiar black storefront. They operate on a non-stop system, with prices varying based on the amount of food consumed. Even if you try all the options, it will cost you just under 10,000 yen, which is quite a steal. While some reservations are already filled, there are still openings for certain time slots, especially in the second half of the week, making it easier to secure a reservation. I remember being taken to the Naka-Meguro branch by a friend a year ago to enjoy some yakitori. My friend praised the yakitori by the renowned Nakamura-san, and although I'm not particularly accustomed to eating delicious yakitori, I visited with high expectations and was truly moved by how delicious it was. This time, I managed to make plans with the same friend to visit the new Roppongi branch where Nakamura-san has relocated. We enjoyed various yakitori items such as sasami, sunagimo, kabu, momo, kawa, uzura, hatsu, moto-nanohana, liver, chouchin, shokudo, tamane-gi, nakaochi, and hatsu-teba, with a finale of mapo eggplant. Each yakitori had a strong charcoal aroma that pierced through the nose, but it was complemented by the rich flavor and juiciness of the chicken meat, which still retained moisture and was excellent. We were able to fully enjoy the texture and flavor of each part. The saltiness was to my personal liking, with a slightly strong salty taste. The daikon radish for palate cleansing was delicious and I could eat it endlessly. We also tried the Kenzo Estate wine "Asatsuyu" for the first time, and it was really delicious. It started fruity but had a strong lingering taste towards the end, which paired perfectly with the yakitori and balanced well with the saltiness. For the finale, we had choices like tamago kake gohan, soboro gohan, yaki onigiri, and mapo eggplant. We were intrigued by the new attempt at the Roppongi branch by Nakamura-san with the mapo eggplant, and we chose it. The mapo had a very strong minced meat flavor, chicken aroma, and the spiciness of Sichuan pepper, making it extremely delicious! The eggplant was separately grilled over charcoal, allowing us to enjoy the smoky aroma while also savoring the juicy and delicious eggplant itself. It was truly delicious! Thank you for the meal!! We will visit again!!
