YACCI
Ikebukuro Station is less than 5 minutes away, and this area is bustling with redevelopment, with old buildings being renovated into new ones, showing a different face each time you visit. After visiting Sunshine, I stopped by a shop near a cafe I used to frequent. The shop is on the second floor of a building, with a slightly old staircase leading up to it. Upon opening the door, there is a bar counter in the front, and tables and sofa seats at the back. There are few unnecessary pillars, making it more open than I had imagined. A TV is installed near the ceiling in the center, and on this day, soccer was being broadcasted. It can also be used as a sports bar.
- Appetizer: Thinly sliced roast beef with sprouts and sesame dressing.
- Caprese with fruit tomatoes: Juicy and sweet fruit tomatoes with classic Genovese sauce.
- Beef wasabi: Thinly sliced beef paired with wasabi. It's like the meat version of octopus wasabi from izakaya, and the wasabi flavor is very strong.
- Garlic edamame: A dish with a garlic-flavored sauce that is irresistibly delicious and goes well with alcohol.
- Grilled vegetables: Broccoli, asparagus, baby corn, bell peppers, grilled simply with oil and salt. Be careful as the cherry tomatoes are hot.
- Gorgonzola cheese gnocchi: Gnocchi, a favorite dish, is on the menu, and it's great that there are plenty of non-meat options. The gooey cheese goes well with the gnocchi.
- Warm roast pork: Roast pork cooked at the perfect temperature, not too tough, juicy, and tender. Served warm, with a Japanese-style sauce and yuzu pepper for seasoning.
- Acqua pazza: A dish with sea bream as the main ingredient, along with mussels, clams, and plenty of vegetables. The rich broth with plenty of umami flavors was delicious, and we enjoyed dipping the bread until the end.
- Frozen cake: A slightly unusual frozen cake with a combination of berry sauce and chocolate cake.
- Overall, we had a satisfying meal, and considering the price, it's definitely unique to Ikebukuro. If you're with a group, the course menu might be worth considering. Thank you for the meal!
