[Rating 3.5] I visited a restaurant located about a 10-minute walk from Higashi-Ginza Station. I arrived for lunch and there were no other customers. The interior seemed to have only a counter, with music playing. I ordered the premium beef tenderloin cutlet sandwich half set for 1,100 yen (tax included), which came with a drink. I chose oolong tea. The good points were the polite service and the simple yet delicious cutlet sandwich. The meat was very tender and juicy, with a crispy coating and well-seasoned sauce. Despite having eaten at a nearby restaurant before, I found myself finishing the sandwich quickly. It was juicy, easy to eat, and overall very satisfying. The only downsides I thought of were the slightly inconvenient location closer to Shimbashi Enbujou and the relatively high price. Thank you for the meal.

I visited during lunchtime on a holiday. Beef hire katsu sandwich, full size ¥2,200- comes with salad and a drink. The balance between the bread and hire katsu was good, and the sauce had a perfect sweetness, it was delicious! It seems like the half size would be good for women.

Takeout for baseball watching. I ordered by phone the day before. It costs 1200 yen for a half portion. Comes with a towel and mustard. Payment can be made in cash or with PayPay. It's a lightly toasted sandwich with crispy and juicy pork cutlet. Oh, it's irresistible! Tastes like happiness. Delicious! Even better with the added mustard. This is really good. I feel like this deliciousness could become addictive and I'll find more opportunities to enjoy it. I think it would definitely be appreciated as a gift.

I ordered the premium beef tenderloin cutlet sandwich (half size) for 1100 yen during lunchtime. I was surprised that a drink was included in the lunch set. It was more affordable than I expected. Unlike the cutlet sandwiches from high-end yakiniku restaurants, this one had a good balance of flavors. The bread was crispy and delicious. I'm satisfied with the taste at this price!

I've been wanting to try this place for a while, known for their Beef Hire Katsu Sandwich. I decided to go with the half size option as I thought the regular size would be too much. The beef was delicious, with a different flavor compared to pork. It was lean with just the right amount of fat. I finished it in no time. Maybe I could have handled the regular size after all with this delicious taste. By the time I finished eating, there was a line forming in the heat. It's definitely popular.

This day I visited Ginza, Higashi-Ginza, and Ginza-itchome areas. This is a science fiction novel published by Kodansha in January 2008, later released in paperback in 2011. It won the 29th Japan SF Award and was adapted into an anime in 2012. The story is set in a post-apocalyptic world where modern civilization has collapsed, revealing a dystopian society. People in this world have telekinetic powers and live peacefully using creatures called "Bakeneko." The protagonist, Saki Watanabe, discovers a self-driving library terminal from a prehistoric civilization with her classmates, revealing the history of the world's collapse. As they gain forbidden knowledge, their fragile peace starts to unravel. The story makes you reflect on your own feelings and actions. Now, moving on to the "Shinsekai Grill Bon Ginza Ken-ten" restaurant. Originating from Osaka, this restaurant specializes in Katsu sandwiches with only two menu items: Ebi Katsu Sandwich and Here Katsu Sandwich. The cozy eatery has about eight seats and is popular for takeout. I opted for the Here Katsu Sandwich, which was beautifully presented with a generous portion of lean meat, pickles, and mustard on the side. The bread was lightly toasted, and the meat had a crispy coating with a tender interior. The vegetable sauce added a hint of sweetness, complementing the savory flavor of the meat. It was a delightful meal that left me wanting more. The experience reaffirmed the deliciousness of lean meat, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I used it for lunch. This place is a shop with many takeout customers, but if you eat inside, you get a salad and a drink, so it's a good deal. I ordered a katsu sandwich with iced coffee. The salad came first, and by the time I finished eating it, the katsu sandwich was brought out. Both the bread and the katsu were crispy and hot, and incredibly delicious. This taste cannot be experienced with takeout, so I recommend eating inside the restaurant.

When passing by the store, I smelled the sweet and sour sauce and saw the scene of a counter-only beef cutlet sandwich shop. I felt like I had seen the name of the store somewhere before, and when I looked it up, I found out that the main store is in Osaka. I remember seeing it when I took the bullet train! There were only two customers at 11:20, so I decided to go in without hesitation. The eat-in customers were sparse, but they seemed very busy with take-out and delivery orders. The menu offers beef cutlet sandwiches or shrimp cutlet sandwiches, available in regular size or half size. Plus, during lunchtime (11:00-15:00), salad and a drink are included at the same price. What a nice service! The regular size seemed quite voluminous, so I ordered the exquisite beef tenderloin cutlet sandwich in half size for 1100 yen. The bread was toasted one after another, and the freshly fried cutlet was sandwiched. The crust of the bread was crispy, and when cut into bite-sized pieces for the half size, it came with pickles and mustard. Now, for the taste test, a freshly fried beef cutlet sandwich is bound to be delicious! The tangy sauce goes perfectly with the medium rare, tender beef cutlet. I occasionally add a punch with the mustard for a change in flavor. This is truly a blissful cutlet sandwich! The beef tenderloin cutlet sandwich has been beloved for many years, and it seems to be open at night as well, serving wine and whiskey. Next time, I'd like to stop by at night and enjoy some wine... It would be a lovely, adult-like experience. I will definitely come back!

I really wanted to eat the Hamburger Steak Sandwich, so after work, I hurried to Bonsan. Just before closing time, they kindly allowed me to eat in. I prefer eating freshly made food on the spot rather than takeout. I am grateful to the manager for that. Ever since I visited Osaka during my university days in Kyoto, I have loved this Hamburger Steak Sandwich. It's been a few years since I returned to work in Ginza, and I made sure to visit to eat it. Even though I hadn't reviewed it before, I used to visit quite often when I worked in Ginza before. The tender and moist beef tenderloin coated in homemade breadcrumbs with a crispy crust, combined with the secret sauce, creates an excellent harmony. It's so delicious. Even though it's filling enough for a half portion for most girls, I always finish a full portion by myself. The manager, who is good at conversation, made sure to engage me in conversation since I was the only customer there. I had a very enjoyable time. Thank you very much for accommodating me just before closing time! I will visit again at a more leisurely pace next time. Thank you for the meal.

Superb Beef Cutlet Sandwich Half Set ¥1,100
Originating from a Western-style restaurant in Osaka, this cutlet sandwich is specialized in Tokyo. The small shop only has 7 counter seats, but the atmosphere and service are reminiscent of a Western-style restaurant.
The lunch set includes a salad and a soft drink, making it a great deal.
The crispy toast is filled with a slightly rare beef cutlet, generously coated in a tangy sauce.
Mini pickles such as carrots, cucumbers, and lotus roots add a cute touch.
The half size includes 6 bite-sized pieces, making it perfect for a light snack.
Reasonably priced wine is also available, making it a great option for a light meal or snack.
During my visit, there were only 3 other customers in the quiet shop. Each order was freshly made with bread toasted to order.
However, as takeout and delivery orders started pouring in, the situation changed.
The 6 toasters on the counter were working at full capacity, toasting 12 slices of bread at a time. The beef cutlets were also being fried one by one, quickly piling up in the kitchen.
Despite the chaos, the 4 staff members in the kitchen efficiently handled their tasks, churning out a large number of beef cutlet sandwiches one after another.
While takeout is popular, watching them prepare the sandwiches while dining in the shop is also a fun experience.

The sandwich shop serving beef cutlet sandwiches with tender meat and crispy bread was a hit as we all tried pronouncing the menu item multiple times. The main branch is located in Osaka and is a well-loved traditional shop. The bread was crispy and delicious, possibly due to toasting. The interior only has counter seats, so when we went in as a group, it felt like we had the place to ourselves! The staff were friendly and patiently answered our random questions, making the experience enjoyable. They were so kind. Next time, I think we'll try to be a bit more subdued during our meal. Haha.

Established 80 years ago... A long-standing restaurant originating from Osaka that calls it "Hire meat" instead of "Filet meat." On my day off... my wife had to work the early shift, so she stopped by here for lunch and also brought me takeout for my dinner.
- Beef Hire Katsu Sandwich, serves one, for 2,400 yen.
As usual, I will follow the heating instructions included. This time, as before...
1. Preheat the oven for 2-3 minutes.
2. Turn off the switch and put the Hire Katsu Sandwich in.
3. Heat lightly for 1-1.5 minutes.
Previously, step 3 was... heat for 1-1.5 minutes without turning on the switch...
Tonight's dinner is just for me... Maybe it's because of my age, but I don't need as much food as before. I enjoyed it with roasted green tea.
Thank you for the meal.

On this day, I was invited by acquaintances to watch a baseball game at Tokyo Dome. As a thank you for arranging the tickets, I got "Beef Hire Katsu Sandwich Half" for ¥1,100 each for everyone to take out. The tender beef cutlet was a perfect match with the sandwich and received great reviews from everyone.

At the Kabukiza Theater, they sell a beef fillet cutlet sandwich from Bon as a bento box, and I was able to eat it inside the store for the first time in 7 years. Due to the pandemic, they couldn't offer dine-in service in the afternoon. The menu includes the "Premium Beef Fillet Cutlet Sandwich" in half size, and the "Shrimp Cutlet Sandwich" in half size, as well as several types of soft drinks. The shrimp cutlet sandwich is limited in quantity. I was curious about it, but I think I'll go with the beef fillet cutlet after all. I used to order the half size, so this time I ordered a full portion. When I tried it, the toasted bread was crispy. The beef fillet inside was warm and delicious! Freshly made is definitely different! It's so delicious. The four types of pickles in front of me also add a nice accent as I eat. The pickles are carrots, celery, cucumber, and lotus root. They are small, but this size is just right. The main star is the beef fillet cutlet sandwich, after all.

Recently, I have noticed an increase in the number of high-end tonkatsu sandwich shops popping up in department stores. I saw a sign saying they raised their prices this year, but I found the balance between price and quality to be good, and I left feeling satisfied. The shop was crowded with people eating at the counter, but I was able to get a takeout without much of a wait.

"Beef fillet cutlet sandwich" from the popular "Shinsekai Grill Bon" is a hit for gifts and takeout ☺︎ With 2 stores in Osaka and only 1 store in Tokyo, here in Higashi-Ginza. It's said that Kabuki actors also love it, being close to the Kabuki-za theater. The menu consists of just the "Beef fillet cutlet sandwich". Truly a specialty store♪ By the way, "Here" is the Osaka term for fillet. I had the half size, and each piece is thick, giving a satisfying bite♡ The meat inside is slightly rare, very tender, and amazing. The secret sauce made with carrots, onions, apples, etc. is sweet, rich, and flavorful... It's been passed down for over 70 years! Without a doubt, the most delicious cutlet sandwich I've ever had ❤︎

A long-established beef cutlet specialty store with its main store in Osaka's Shinsekai district. The Ginza store, located near the Kabuki-za theater, is frequented by Kabuki actors. This small restaurant has about 7 counter seats, and when I visited just before 12:00 on a weekday, there was only one group of customers, but by 12:00, it was full. The menu consists of only Beef Cutlet Sandwich and Shrimp Cutlet Sandwich!
☑︎ Premium Beef Cutlet Sandwich Set for One Person ¥2200
This is the specialty menu that most customers order. It comes with salad and a drink. When you place your order, they first set the bread in the toaster and start frying the cutlet. (For one serving, you get 4 slices of bread...!) Once the bread is nicely toasted, they generously spread sauce on it, sandwich the fried cutlet, and then cut it with a knife to finish. The cutlet is cooked to medium-rare in the center, making it moist and tender. Despite being thick, it is soft and easy to bite into. The sauce is rich and flavorful, with the essence of vegetables and fruits concentrated. I ordered one serving this time, but I started to get tired of it halfway through, so I recommend getting the half size. There were also many customers coming in for takeout, showing that it is indeed a popular restaurant.

With a rating of 3.67 on Tabelog, this long-established restaurant located in Osaka's Shinsekai district, near Tsutenkaku Tower, has been in operation since 1963. Known for its popular souvenir item, the "Beef Hire Katsu Sandwich," the restaurant "Shinsekai Grill Bon Ginza" also offers dine-in options. The "Hire Katsu Half" dish priced at ¥1200 features a rare fillet (known as hire meat in Osaka) that is cut into a single slice from a block, aged for a day to firm up, seasoned with black pepper, and then turned into a katsu sandwich, giving it a punch of flavor. The sauce, which is the essence of the Hire Katsu Sandwich, is also outstanding. Made from a base of chicken bones, onions, carrots, ginger, celery, cabbage, and a variety of vegetables and fruits, the sauce is simmered for about a week with added sake, tomato sauce, and Worcestershire sauce to bring out richness. This labor-intensive sauce enhances the flavor of the Hire Katsu Sandwich without overpowering it. The harmony of the bread, sauce, and Hire Katsu is simply irresistible. Bon appétit!

"Shinsekai Grill Bon Ginza" is a long-established restaurant with 80 years of history originating from Osaka's Shinsekai. I ordered the premium beef tenderloin cutlet sandwich for 2200 yen. The sandwich had a vibrant color with a tenderloin meat slice that still showed some redness. The thin and crispy bread encased a thick and crispy cutlet, which was juicy and tender. The sweet sauce added to the deliciousness, and it paired well with mustard. It was really delicious.
