Tamakuma, located on the top floor of the Tamagawa Takashimaya Shopping Center South Wing, is often referred to as "Tamataka" and is situated next to the ASO restaurant. I finally had the opportunity to visit this restaurant. Looking at the menu, I was pleasantly surprised by the reasonably priced dishes, including individual set meals. It's not common to find set meals under 3,000 yen while enjoying the view of the Tama River from the top floor of Takashimaya. This time, I opted for the private room (with a 10% surcharge) and chose the meat kaiseki course priced at 8,228 yen per person including tax. The dishes were all fairly generous in portion size and tasted delicious. The meat dish at the end was particularly outstanding. Considering the quality of the meat in this kaiseki course at this price point, I believe it offers good value for money. However, the customer service was not up to par with that of a high-end restaurant, and there were quite a few mistakes made, which was disappointing. Overall, it was a satisfying dining experience.

Lunch at "Sakura" set meal. The restaurant has a bright atmosphere with a view of the city below (though the air conditioning is a bit too strong), offering a luxurious Kyoto-style kaiseki cuisine. Each dish is delicately flavored, allowing you to enjoy a variety of delicious foods. From the vinegar dish to yuba, tempura, duck, and dessert, everything was delicious, but the highlight was the Kyoto-style white miso soup, which is rare in Tokyo. It was a satisfying meal where you can have seconds of rice. Thank you for the meal.

I visited for lunch. Located on the 11th floor of Takashimaya's South Wing, this floor only has two stores, so it's a quiet and calm space with few people. The entrance to the store was dimly lit, with warm lights evenly spaced on the floor, which was very beautiful. The view from the window was also beautiful, and I was able to enjoy my meal in a relaxed atmosphere. The sashimi and rice were very delicious. You can also get a refill of rice. I definitely want to go again.

I had a kaiseki meal at this restaurant on the 11th floor of Tamagawa Takashimaya S.C South Building. I chose a private room because I wanted a quiet dining experience. The tatami room was clean and had a nice atmosphere. The high ceiling and windows all around gave a sense of openness and a great view. The natural light made it easy to take beautiful photos. I chose the Wagyu steak "Aoi" to cook myself. The meat was tender and delicious with a good amount of fat. The corn rice was free for seconds. The staff were friendly and provided excellent service, making the dining experience enjoyable.

It was a family-only gathering for my mother's seventh memorial service at "Tankuma" in GW. We chose this place with a Kyoto vibe in mind, and it exceeded our expectations. The food was excellent, and the service and atmosphere were impeccable. Thanks to their thoughtful care, it was a wonderful gathering. It's important to consider the quality of time spent as a measure of satisfaction. This restaurant made me realize that once again. Although in a different industry, there is always something to learn from the service provided. Thank you for the meal.

I arrived at the restaurant before the 11 am opening, but they were busy with reservations. I was finally seated around 11:30 am. The seafood bowl my spouse and I had was delicious with thick and fresh sashimi. The chawanmushi had a unique twist that I wasn't a fan of. The miso soup had a subtle and elegant flavor, perhaps due to being in Kyoto. When I mentioned dietary restrictions for a future reservation, the staff was quick to accommodate with alternative options. The view from the top floor was stunning. I left feeling very satisfied with the meal and service. Looking forward to dining there again.

Luxurious atmosphere, spacious seating. Lunch prices range from 1300 yen to 2500 yen. The waitstaff wear kimonos. You can feel like you're indulging in a luxurious experience. The age group tends to be older. The taste is average, similar to a family restaurant. If you go at 11 am, it's almost full even on weekdays.

Ordered a course with beef included! It felt like a New Year's dish with a few traditional side dishes, but the flavor was a bit too sweet. The portion was small for the price. Had to order a sushi platter as an extra because it wasn't enough. The sushi was really delicious, with slightly sweet vinegared rice. I feel like the previous visit had better tasting dishes...

I received a New Year's special kaiseki meal. Every dish was elegant and delicious, especially when paired with Japanese sake, Juyondai. We paid in a private room, but it was a bit disappointing when the lights were turned off right after we finished paying while we were still enjoying our tea.

I visited the Tan Kumakita Kitakata and Futakotamagawa stores. It is a Japanese cuisine restaurant where you can enjoy dishes made with seasonal ingredients. First, I had an appetizer which included three elegantly prepared dishes: Manju tofu, corn soup, and conger eel with eel. Next, I had sashimi and a two-tiered bento box. The first tier included various dishes like red wine stewed mountain peach, chicken with vinegar lotus root, and deep-fried tofu skin rolls. The second tier had tempura, grilled skewers, and simmered dishes like eggplant. The meal also included special cultivated edamame rice, white miso soup, and jelly for dessert. The view from the 11th floor was amazing, and both the food and atmosphere were very satisfying. I would definitely like to visit again.

I knew that Tankuma Kitamise was located in Takashimaya department store, but it was on the upper floor of the food court, so I had been avoiding it thinking it would be expensive. Tankuma Kitamise North Store is a branch that was opened by the eldest son of the original Tankuma. They seem to actively expand their business in famous hotels and under different names as well. When I looked at the menu outside the store, I was surprised by the reasonable prices. Plus, they had my favorite simmered anago (eel) rice bowl. So, I decided to go in and ordered the simmered anago rice bowl set for 1,850 yen, which is only available on weekends and holidays. Other sushi sets were surprisingly affordable too. After a short wait, the simmered anago set arrived. The set came with three side dishes, a salad, and a chawanmushi (steamed egg custard). The simmered anago was large and came with wasabi and shredded cucumber. It was tender, delicious, and paired well with the sweet sauce and rice. The portion size was generous, and I would definitely consider visiting frequently to try more of their sushi dishes.

Today, for the first time in a while, my family decided to have a meal together, so we chose Japanese food. We selected the renowned restaurant "Tankuma" with its main branch in Kyoto. It was my first time visiting, even though we had ordered New Year dishes from Tankuma this year. The restaurant is located on the top floor of Futakotamagawa Takashimaya, a place not many people have been to because it only has high-end stores. We were greeted by a elegantly dressed woman, and since we had reserved a private room, we were led to the back. The private room was amazing. The view from the room was a sight I had never seen in Futakotamagawa before. We toasted with champagne. The course included tempura, sashimi, and soup, a full course of Japanese cuisine. The dashi was delicious, and the tempura was fried perfectly. The sashimi was incredibly fresh and tasty. Although there was a fee for the private room, it was definitely worth it for the quality of the space. It was a good experience spending time with my family in such a wonderful setting. Overall, it was a great restaurant! Thank you for the meal!

We made a reservation for lunch with our family on a regular day. The restaurant is located on the 11th floor of Takashimaya in Tamagawa. The view is amazing on a sunny day. The restaurant was about 80% full. We had a birthday lunch this time. The red rice was served in a dish shaped like a sea bream. We enjoyed seasonal Japanese dishes such as sake lees tofu, grilled conger eel, corn soup, red wine stewed mountain peach, vinegar lotus root, grilled chicken with pine mushrooms, shrimp wrapped in yuba, and red Omi konjac. We also had grilled sea bream with miso, salt-grilled sweetfish with tade vinegar, and somen noodles with pumpkin dashi jelly. The food was delicious, but it would have been even better if there was at least one fried dish (such as tempura) included.

I had the sukiyaki set meal. There is a weekday special set for 1,900 yen. It may not look like a lot, but there is actually plenty of meat included. There was a lot of onions in it, which I found interesting. Maybe it's a Kyoto style? I was dining at the counter, and the chef gave me some delicious miso-marinated mackerel.

You can enjoy a meal while overlooking the Tokyo scenery on the 11th floor of Takashimaya. The location alone is worth a visit. I had the simmered conger eel bowl. It was delicious, with a light and fluffy texture that you would expect from a sushi restaurant's conger eel.

The Tanukuma Kitakitaten is located on the 11th floor of the Tamagawa Takashimaya S.C. Shin Minami-kan in Futakotamagawa. I had visited this restaurant with my family before, but this was my first time having lunch there. I arrived at around 10:30 am to meet with some neighbors, as it had been a while since I visited this area and I wanted to enjoy the view from the top floor of Takashimaya. When I arrived, there were already a few groups waiting in front of the restaurant. Since there are only two restaurants on the top floor, it seemed like everyone was waiting for one of them. I wrote down my name as the 5th group in line, and soon more customers arrived, filling up the floor quickly. At exactly 11:00 am, my neighbors arrived and were surprised by the crowd. When the restaurant opened, reservations and waiting list names were called, and we were able to enter in about 5 minutes. We ordered the seasonal lunch set, but unfortunately, it was already sold out. We had to choose a different option, but luckily our order for another set was just in time. By the time we finished ordering, the restaurant was full, and they were already announcing that the next available seating would be at 1:30 pm. Tanukuma Kitakitaten is known for its relatively reasonable lunch prices, which is why it is so popular. The seasonal lunch set costs 2,000 yen (tax included) and was of high quality. The sushi was particularly delicious, with tuna, seared nodoguro, and toro sushi. The fish salad was served in a cute container, and the side dishes and grilled items were also enjoyable. For 2,000 yen, including coffee and dessert, it was a great deal. Despite some mixed reviews about the service, I did not notice any issues during my visit. In addition to the seasonal lunch set, they also offer lunch menus ranging from 1,000 to 1,500 yen. I also looked at the dinner menu, which was relatively affordable compared to the Kyoto main store, making it a recommended option.

Two weeks ago, I made a reservation over the phone for two people at 11:30 on Sunday. When I called, they said we would decide on the menu for the day, but when we arrived, the menu was already decided. The Sakura Kaiseki Bento (excluding tax) costs 4,180 yen and includes various dishes such as appetizers, sashimi, tempura, and miso soup. When we entered the restaurant, the receptionist was on the phone, so we were not guided by anyone else, which was disappointing. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was very beautiful, and being on the top floor of Takashimaya, we could enjoy the view. However, the serving was quite sloppy, and the clattering of tableware was distracting. The overall service did not match the ambiance of the restaurant, which was disappointing. Despite that, the restaurant was fully booked due to reservations, showing the power of department stores. The restaurant has a rating of 3.09 on Tabelog as of March 2021.

I went to a lunch sushi restaurant without making a reservation, but the meat dishes were actually more delicious than the sushi my second son was eating. It was my first time visiting this place and it cost us 16,000 yen for three people...kind of expensive. It's summer vacation, so I should have made a reservation. Everywhere was fully booked! There were two groups of noisy babies sitting next to us. As for the crab, it had a strong frozen smell and I couldn't eat it. Maybe the market is not doing well during this Bon season? I regret not checking that beforehand.
