On a regular Monday, 15 minutes before opening at 11:15 am. There are 15 people in line. I had given up on waiting during this time, but today the sun is strong and hot, but I can wait in the shade and occasionally feel a nice breeze. I rarely have the opportunity to come to Asakusa before lunch for work. Moreover, it's only available on Mondays... Alright, I'm going to line up! I want to try the Monday lunch that was mentioned in the previous review. The reason why Monday lunch is good is because you can eat the famous beef stew. If you order the beef stew alone, it costs around 3,000 yen, which is already out of my reach! 10 minutes before opening, there are already 20 people lined up behind me. I'm glad I decided to line up immediately. Let's go inside. I'm seated at a 2-person table instead of the counter. It would have been nice to see the cooking up close at the counter, but it's okay. Of course, I order the "Generous Lunch" (2,000 yen) that I came for! It's a super luxurious lunch for someone like me who is not well off. The Monday generous lunch includes beef stew and Neapolitan as the main dishes. First, the corn soup arrives. I'll have it while it's still hot. It's not particularly special, but it tastes good with the atmosphere of the restaurant. About 10 minutes after ordering, the beef stew arrives! Let's dig into the beef stew right away. I see, it's delicious! A proper stew. The taste is rich and flavorful. The balance of sweetness, acidity, and bitterness is good. And it's not just the ingredients, it's a proper stew. This is the beef stew that a professional would make based on my favorite beef stew that my mother used to make with roux when I was a child. The beef stew my mother made when I was a child is the best, with the nostalgia factor, but this stew is quite good too. The ingredients are substantial, with the meat being properly present. The meat has a firm texture but is tender. It's the type that becomes tender along the fibers. The stew is well blended with the flavors of sweetness, acidity, and bitterness. The vegetables like carrots, mushrooms, green beans, and even fried potatoes were in it. The taste of the stew doesn't overpower the individual flavors of each ingredient. Well, the carrots are sweet and seasoned, I wonder? Well, I want bread or rice! Then, the other main dish, Neapolitan, arrives! But I'll finish the beef stew while it's still hot first... (enjoying the beef stew) It was delicious. Now, let's try the Neapolitan. It's delicious. The pasta is chewy. Al dente? I don't know, who's that? That's the Japanese Neapolitan. It would be nice if there were bell peppers, but still, it's a pretty delicious Neapolitan. What I felt with this Neapolitan is the satisfying feeling of being substantial. It's very satisfying when I finish eating, even though it's delicious. The servers move quickly and efficiently. They clean up as soon as they see you finish eating. They quickly bring out the ice cream at the right time. This ice cream is also rich and delicious. It reminded me of the Lady Borden I used to eat as a child. Well, I don't usually eat ice cream, so it was good. Well, I'm glad I waited in line. Thank you for the meal!
