We both love soba noodles. My colleague ordered the ten-seiro, while I had the regular seiro with some chimaki and a little bit of bottled beer. The soba had a good texture and we both enjoyed it, but the dipping sauce was a bit lacking. It's the first time I've seen so little sauce. It was enough, but still a bit disappointing. I'll just drink the remaining sauce at the end. It's a shame it was so little. Also, I didn't get to finish my soba-yu because I eat slowly and they took it away. Oh well.

Delicious soba restaurant. A hidden gem. I went to Musashimurayama City to try Murayama udon, but it was already past lunchtime and all the udon shops were closed. I was at a loss for what to do, but then I found this soba restaurant! The reviews seemed good, so I decided to give it a try. The exterior of the restaurant looked old-fashioned, which made me a little hesitant to go in, but the interior had a nostalgic feel that I personally really liked. Maybe because it was not crowded, it was a calm and relaxing space. We ordered the seasonal limited kaki udon, shrimp tempura udon, and squid tempura. They served us warm tea, which was comforting, and then the squid tempura arrived. It was plump and tender. The oyster udon had lots of big oysters in it. The grilled oysters and green onions added a nice smoky flavor. The udon noodles had a good texture. The soup was delicious too. There was something about the water itself that tasted good. The flavors showed that they put effort into their work. It felt like I had finally reunited with delicious udon after a long time. The shrimp tempura udon also had large shrimp! My dining companion, who works in the food industry, also enjoyed the meal. They mentioned that they use good quality ingredients. The kind old lady who served us was adorable and comforting. The atmosphere was nice, and the owner seemed friendly. It's a bit far for me to visit often, but I would love to come back if I have the chance. Next time, I definitely want to try their soba.

If I could go back to being a child, I would want to make a comparison study of the soba restaurants in the neighborhood as my free research project. I visited a soba restaurant with the same name near my parents' house out of curiosity. It was 12:30 pm, with 2 groups of customers already seated, and the owner, a motherly figure, welcomed us in. We ordered a seiro (660 yen) and waited for our food. The hand soap in the restroom was hardened, so I had to wash my hands thoroughly with water. After about 25 minutes of waiting, the soba finally arrived. It was a 80% buckwheat soba, slightly thicker and with a unique texture. The aroma was mild, but the taste was rich and the noodles had a good chewy texture. The soba dipped in the sauce was sweet and easy to eat. I finished it quickly and enjoyed the soba-yu and a homemade pineapple sherbet for dessert. Despite the wait and the soap issue, the delicious soba, reasonable prices, and the charming service from the owner made it a lovely dining experience.

Located in Motochō, Musashimurayama City, this soba restaurant offers a seasonal limited edition dish called Small Shrimp Tempura Soba (1100 yen). The soba is served cold with small shrimp tempura, nori, grated daikon, and kaiware. The soba is freshly ground in the shop, resulting in a smooth and refreshing texture with a satisfying chewiness. The reviewer found the soba to be extremely delicious and satisfying, and even though they initially planned to add a lot of shichimi pepper for an extra kick, they found that the soba was so good on its own that it didn't need any additional seasoning. The reviewer also received a dessert as a service, although it's unclear if this is a regular offering at the restaurant. Overall, the reviewer highly recommends trying the simple zaru soba on their next visit.

■Visit Date I visited the restaurant on a Saturday morning after watching "An" at AEON Cinema, enjoying delicious handmade udon at Nakamura Kazusho, and eating grilled dango at Fujiya. It was just before 1 pm. ■Access Located on the left side immediately after turning left at the Musashimurayama Ichinaka Nishi intersection on the Shin-Oume Kaido. There is a spacious parking lot that can accommodate about 5 cars in front of the store. ■Exterior, Interior, Atmosphere The exterior has a fairly subdued and slightly run-down atmosphere. The interior is spacious with a folk art-style decor, featuring 4 table seats and 6 table seats for a total of about 40 seats. There was a hint of incense in the air, which turned out to be mosquito coils burning. Nostalgic. ■Customer Base The restaurant was completely reserved on this day. ■Food and Drinks The menu featured mainly soba and udon dishes, with buckwheat soba also being made in-house. I ordered the two-color soba. After placing my order and waiting for a while, I casually glanced back at the kitchen to find the owner in the midst of making soba. Lucky coincidence! I decided to patiently wait and ordered a draft beer. "Draft Beer Glass" 350 yen (excluding tax) The two-color soba arrived, featuring buckwheat soba and regular soba. First, I tried the buckwheat soba, which had a yellowish-brown color. It was not spicy as described, with no bitterness or astringency. The noodles were firm and medium-thick. The regular soba had a slightly starry light brown color with a good thickness for slurping. The flavor of the soba was subtle but quite delicious. The dipping sauce had a straight, uncomplicated flavor of bonito dashi. The soba broth was thickened with soba flour. ■Service The young man who made and served the soba was friendly, and the elderly woman who took care of the floor seemed to be the owner and his mother. Both provided kind service. ■Cost Performance The two-color soba at 1,000 yen is a good deal. The overall prices are standard, and the cost performance is quite high. ■Overall Impression I was surprised to find that the restaurant was run by a young owner, given its exterior appearance. The homemade soba was delicious, and I was impressed by the dedication to making the buckwheat soba in-house. Although the restaurant was reserved on this day, it seems like a place that could attract more customers. However, it might be slightly intimidating to enter, so I suggest making the curtain crisp and putting up a "Open" sign. I felt that some improvements could be made. I would definitely like to visit again to support the hardworking young owner. Thank you for the meal.

This is a restaurant in my city that has been operating for quite some time. I used to pass by here often, but had never visited before. I was intrigued by the reviews saying that the soba noodles are freshly ground and delicious. I arrived after 11:30 AM and hesitated a bit at the entrance, which seemed a bit upscale, but I gathered my courage and went in. The interior of the restaurant was surprisingly spacious with only table seating, no counter seats. There was also a raised tatami area on the right side, which would be comforting for families with children. There were no other customers, perhaps due to it being a weekday before lunchtime. I sat at a table on the left side as soon as I entered. A slightly older woman, who I assume was the proprietress, brought me a cup of cold tea. I couldn't find a set menu with both soba noodles and katsu-don, so I asked the woman if it was possible to have a set with both, and she said yes. I ordered it, and I think it was around 1103 yen. I wish they included tax in the price. There was a kitchen in the back where the woman went in to start cooking. After about 10 minutes, the tray arrived. The katsu-don bowl was not very deep, but it looked large from the top. The soba noodles had a good texture, although I didn't smell much aroma. The broth tasted a bit sweet, which I found a bit strong. The soba noodles were easy to eat and I finished them quickly. The katsu in the katsu-don was fried just right, hot, and had a good amount of salt and pepper seasoning. The broth did not overpower the taste of the katsu, which was excellent. The broth was served in a large pitcher, which was nice. The katsu-don was satisfyingly delicious, and I think this restaurant is recommended. They also have other set menus, but I couldn't capture all the menu pages due to my shaky hands. When it was time to pay, a young woman, who I assume was the daughter or daughter-in-law, took care of the bill. The food was delicious, so I would like to visit here again when I crave katsu-don and soba noodles. It was truly delicious.

I had my usual casual lunch (^o^)丿. The weather forecast from the Japan Meteorological Agency was spot on this time (>_<) It's snowing heavily... (・.・;) They say it will stop in the afternoon, but I wonder if that's true~ Anyway, for my usual casual lunch, I went to "Moto Roku," a self-milled stone mill hand-made soba restaurant located on the Seibu Shinkin Bank side at the intersection of Shin-Ōme Kaidō and Murayama Ichichū in Musashimurayama City. The menu is cold in this weather, so I went for the hot tanuki soba in a large portion for ¥893. The soba is warm and has a nice firm texture. The broth is just right, not too strong or weak. The soba is made with carefully selected self-milled flour, hand-milled with a stone mill, and is of high quality. I'm looking forward to trying the cold soba when the seasons change. It was delicious (laughs). ★★★☆ Moto Roku, a self-milled stone mill hand-made soba restaurant Musashimurayama City, Tokyo, Honcho 2-110-7 Closed: TBA.

We met by chance through work. It was a wonderful encounter for a chance meeting. The parking lot and the exterior of the shop were unremarkable. Without much expectation, we entered through the curtain. Inside, there was a very calming "Japanese" atmosphere. The background music of the koto was fitting. It seemed to be a family-run business, with the mother welcoming us with a big smile. The man in the kitchen looked quite young, probably the son. The seasonal menu looked good. You could feel the sincerity. The mountain vegetables were from Akita, so I ordered the "Mountain Vegetable Tempura Soba" without hesitation. The light batter was crispy. The slight bitterness was irresistible for adults! The soba was also quite good. It had a chewy texture like Dattan soba. The aroma was rich. The texture may vary depending on personal preference... The dipping sauce was slightly above average. It wasn't a sharp Edo-style sauce, but I thought the balance was good. It's amazing that they offer three different types of soba. It's rare for a shop with such a "local soba shop" appearance. Even the sherbet was homemade. And they seem to always have three or more flavors available. I was curious, so I also tried the "Strawberry Milk Sherbet." It was delicious! Enjoying the soba, finishing with soba, and then this is the best! It may be slightly biased towards sweetness, but I highly appreciated their homey yet dedicated approach to cooking. And the mother's smile. The son seemed serious too, and I really liked that. The only downside I can mention is that the menu prices were without tax. It would be even better if they were listed with tax included. It would make ordering easier and less confusing. It might not be a place you would go out of your way to visit, but I think it can cater to various situations, from casual dining to gatherings.
