I went out to a Spanish restaurant with a friend and enjoyed various dishes such as Iberico ham, omelette with spinach, aioli salad with white beans, octopus Garcia style, Moroccan-style chicken skewers, squid ink paella, and homemade sangria. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was cozy. It was a great dining experience overall.

We visited Bar Arara for a company drinking party. We started with a toast with beer and then switched to Sangria. We ordered a few snacks and kept enjoying the Sangria until it ran out, then we wrapped up the party. Every dish was delicious, especially the Paella. The staff were also friendly, so I would like to visit again.

Today, I visited this restaurant. I really like paella, so I am quite particular about Spanish cuisine. I have been curious about this place for a while. This time, I opted for the course with all-you-can-drink. The appetizer platter includes spicy salami, prosciutto, omelette, olives, and other basic Spanish appetizers. The garlic shrimp is made with small prawns and is deliciously plump! The CAVA keeps flowing. The stewed dish is tripe stew, and the richness of the offal comes through nicely. I also ordered some additional dishes - Ezoshika sausage and Iberico pork. Finally, the eagerly awaited paella. It is delicious with a strong seafood flavor! I also want to try the squid ink paella next time! I would like to visit again when I want to leisurely enjoy wine and paella in Gotanda. Thank you for the meal!

Blog "Tokyu Line, Foodie Walk" https://asante.blog/ ---- This day was a drinking party. Depending on the person, I think the state of emergency and the mandarin fish have been lifted, and it seems that people are gradually returning to the streets. Although we still cannot let our guard down, as a lover of dining out, I am delighted to see people coming back and it's good news for the restaurant industry. On this day, we went to this restaurant. It's a small Spanish bar located not far from Gotanda Station, and even though it was a weekday, the seats were full. The menu had all the classic dishes that Japanese people would think of, and we ordered a variety of dishes. A platter of cured ham, salad, garlic shrimp, Spanish omelette, cheese platter, and paella. We started with Spanish beer and then switched to wine by the bottle. I think I drank about one bottle per person. The cured ham was freshly sliced at the counter, the garlic shrimp was piping hot, and the paella was full of shrimp and lobster, making Gotanda feel like Barcelona that day. The open atmosphere was nice, the delicious food and wine made the conversation lively, and we ended up drinking too much. It was fun and delicious, but it cost almost 10,000 yen per person, so it might be a bit pricey for a bar... If we hadn't overindulged, it might have been within a reasonable range. Let's just be happy because we had a good time. Bon appétit.

On a Saturday evening filled with the anticipation of the impending lifting of the state of emergency in Tokyo, I decided to have a takeout dinner from "Bar Arara." Located in Gotanda, I found this Spanish bar by chance on the internet and placed my order over the phone the day before. I picked up my order at 5:00 PM in the rain. I had ordered small shrimp ajillo for 800 yen, Iberico pork and vegetable sauté for 1,000 yen, Moroccan-style chicken skewers for 500 yen each, mixed paella for 1,200 yen, and squid ink paella for 1,200 yen. I reheated the ajillo in the microwave and transferred the rest of the dishes to plates without reheating. I also prepared a salad and baguette from a nearby store. I opened a bottle of Veneto rosé sparkling wine to pair with the seafood dishes. The ajillo was delicious, and I couldn't stop eating the bread dipped in the flavorful oil. The Moroccan-style chicken skewers, although advertised as such, were actually a classic Spanish dish with a unique blend of spices and herbs. The Iberico pork and vegetable sauté was simple yet tasty, with perfectly cooked pork and well-seasoned vegetables. The paellas were the highlight of the meal - the squid ink paella was rich and flavorful, while the mixed paella was more mild and comforting. Both were delicious, but I couldn't help but wish they were served piping hot in traditional paella pans. Overall, the meal was satisfying and a great way to enjoy restaurant-quality Spanish food at home. I look forward to visiting the restaurant in person to experience their dishes fresh from the kitchen. The total cost of my order was 5,200 yen, but I only paid 4,800 yen upon pickup, which may have been a special takeout discount.

Thursday afternoon feels like Spain. So, I decided to visit "Bar Arara," which I discovered was now offering lunch. As I entered the restaurant, I noticed a slight Spanish atmosphere. I took a seat at a table and quickly checked the menu. The lunch options were categorized as A to C, all priced at 1000 yen. I was torn between which to choose, but I ended up selecting option B, the "Clam Bouillabaisse." After placing my order, the dish arrived promptly. I dug in right away. The taste was not extraordinary, but rather simply delicious. It was satisfying to get my zinc intake from the clams. I look forward to trying option C next time if I have the chance.

[Location] 4 minutes walk from Gotanda Station [Date/Time/Queue] August 7, 2019 (Wednesday) 13:00 No queue [Food/Price] Lunch 1000 yen, Iced Coffee 200 yen [Impression] A Spanish bar in Gotanda. I visited for lunch and ordered a one-plate paella, typical of a Spanish bar. The taste was decent, but the portion size may be slightly small.

This Spanish bar, which used to operate only at night for many years, was open during the day when I passed by around the time the cherry blossoms were blooming. It is located in a relatively quiet street in Gotanda along the JR train tracks, with a Spanish flag waving 24 hours as a sign. When I entered around 1 pm on a hot day after the long rainy season, there were two female customers dining alone before me. The staff consisted of two men and women. While the TV was showing a wide show, the speaker was playing a radio broadcast by a female DJ with Matsutaka Ko as a guest. There were two types of lunch plates available, including seafood paella, but I chose the following: - Sauteed Iberico pork with sherry wine for 1000 yen (tax included) Comes with salad, bread, omelette, and prosciutto Drinks are available for an additional 200 yen The salad only consisted of lettuce and tomato, and the prosciutto was about 2-3 cm in size, so it might be better not to mention it to give a better impression of the size. The main dish had a decent portion, with Iberico pork simmered well in sherry wine, along with shiitake mushrooms, enoki mushrooms, and broccoli. With four slices of baguette, my stomach was full. I wish they included a drink with this lunch plate - the service was minimal... Overall, I'm not sure if I would revisit this place.

For lunch in Gotanda that day, I went to a Spanish bar near the station. The weather was nice and it felt good. The doors outside the restaurant were all open, so I chose a seat closest to the outside. The menu had two options: paella and a meat plate, but I was in the mood for paella. I chose the "Sweet Shrimp and Clam Paella for 1000 yen." The plate came with paella, salad, baguette, salami, prosciutto, and Spanish omelette. The paella was a bit lukewarm as some time had passed, which was a bit disappointing. But the baguette, salami, and prosciutto were delicious, and they seemed like they would go well with alcohol. The restaurant is quite casual, but it seems like you can enjoy authentic Spanish cuisine at night. This place seems more fun in the evening than for lunch. It's recommended for when you want to casually enjoy Spanish cuisine.

Based on a friend's recommendation, I tried authentic Spanish cuisine! The restaurant was very busy and already full by 6:30 pm, so I was glad I made a reservation. There were so many dishes to choose from, all looking delicious. I had to try the recommended paella, and it did not disappoint. It was my first time trying black paella, so I was excited to taste it. When the paella was brought to the table, I was surprised by its size. It was huge! I took a bite and it was delicious! The rice was crispy and fragrant, unlike Japanese paella. Truly authentic. I want to go back again soon!

I went to the second party. We arrived just before midnight because the store closes at 1 am! I went with a friend who is a regular at the shop, and I heard that the paella is excellent, but unfortunately, I was too full. If I had a little more room in my stomach, I would have definitely ordered it, so I was frustrated. We ended up with wine and snacks, and I left with regrets. There are many attractive restaurants in Gotanda, so if you stroll around, you never know where you might end up. I want to make sure to plan to eat paella and visit Gotanda.

The food was delicious, but unfortunately the service style did not suit me. I arrived on time with a reservation, but my table was not ready. When I agreed to sit at the counter, I was surprised when the staff pulled my arm and asked me to wait. The dishes were all tasty and I wanted to enjoy them slowly, but I felt rushed when they asked if they could take my plate even though I hadn't finished. Other customers, who seemed like regulars, were offered more bread, but our bread basket was taken away right after we finished. It was just two people running the restaurant, and it was around 7pm which might have been a busy time.

The store is open so it's easy to enter even if you're alone. It's a bit expensive when dining alone. However, baguettes are refillable, so I ordered aioli and liver pate and ate a lot of baguettes. When there are two people, I want to eat paella.

The restaurant has about 20 seats, providing a sense of safety with the distance between customers. All the dishes were delicious, especially the paella. Although not far from Gotanda Station, it is away from the drinking district, giving the impression of having many regular customers. I would like to visit again. Thank you for the meal! (^^)

Not widely known, but highly recommended for those familiar with Spain. The taste is similar to the bars in San Sebastian. Especially the mushroom and sausage dish, and the aioli salad are excellent. However, note that the bread basket is not complimentary, it is an additional charge.

The tapas here are noticeably more delicious compared to other Spanish-style bars, making you feel nostalgic for Spain. While it's easy to focus on the cost performance, I believe this is the place to take someone special. Even if you're alone, sitting at the counter makes it comfortable even if you don't eat much. The store size seems to lead to many private bookings, so it's better to make a reservation even if you're alone. Highly recommended.
