BLANY
Shibuya Scramble Square, also known as "SSS". On the 12th floor, there is a sushi restaurant called "Matsuei" offering authentic sushi for a reasonable price during lunch. The lunch menu includes the "Rin" omakase course for 7,600 yen, and the "Kagayaki" course for 13,200 yen. There is also the "Keyaki" course with 11 pieces for 4,620 yen, and the "Kaede" course with 8 pieces for 3,520 yen. This time, I tried the "Keyaki" course with 11 pieces of sushi, 2 side dishes, a soup, and dessert for 4,620 yen. At Shibuya SSS, you can choose your favorite topping for the 11th piece of sushi. First, I had two side dishes - jellyfish salad and seaweed. The jellyfish had a perfect crunchy texture, not too firm nor too soft, which was interesting. The seaweed was average. The sushi included: red snapper, amberjack, medium fatty tuna, scallop, golden eye snapper, tamago, red miso soup, white shrimp, sea urchin, marinated tuna, blackthroat seaperch, conger eel, and torotaku roll (the last customizable topping). The blackthroat seaperch was delicious anywhere you eat it. The golden eye snapper, which can vary in taste depending on the chef, was also delicious here! The torotaku roll at the end was tasty, but I think it would have been better as a regular piece of sushi. It's like experiencing high-end sushi in a mall setting. The industry jargon used in the restaurant could be toned down a bit. The restaurant is clean and located in a beautiful building. I found out that they have a main branch in Ebisu. I might visit there if I have the chance.
