There are quite a few unique variations of deli sandwiches popping up. A chikuwa sandwich with chikuwa tempura inside... It's not bad. The seasoning is made to match the bread, so it's not bad at all. The salad sandwich has macaroni salad inside. It's a carb overload. It's not bad, but... The frankfurter sandwich is pretty standard, but the frankfurter is thick! That's a pleasant surprise. I forgot to take a photo, but I also tried the cheese dog. It has a chunk of cheese inside. I'll need to try a few more things before I can give a proper evaluation. Maybe next time.

In any area, there should be a nostalgic bakery. In East Musashino, this shop should be the one. It is located along the Edo Kaido, blending in with the surroundings so well that you might miss it if you don't know about it. The exterior has a Showa era charm, making you feel the history and pride of the shop. I decided to enter and found neatly arranged bread in the old glass case. I chose the croquette bread (120 yen), frank cheese (200 yen), and minced meat (230 yen) for brunch. Even with these three items, it was just a little over a coin. If you're buying bread at a convenience store, this place is definitely better. The croquette bread is said to be the most popular here. The bread has a unique elasticity and weight, with sweetness coming out with each bite. The large croquette is firmly sandwiched, providing enough satisfaction for just 120 yen. The value for money is great. The frank cheese has sausage topped with cheese, seasoned with mayo and ketchup. While similar items can be found at convenience stores, the quality here is different. The minced meat cutlet has coleslaw and cucumber slices as accents. It is surprisingly meaty and satisfying. This bakery has been around for 46 years. It is loved by the locals, so it will likely continue across generations. Hopefully, it will celebrate its milestone 50th anniversary without succumbing to COVID-19.

Today I visited the area around Higashimurayama, Kumejima, Yasaka, Takanodai, and Ichikawa Gakuen. There are many different train lines running around here, mostly on the Seibu Line - Seibu Shinjuku Line, Seibu Haijima Line, Seibu Tama Lake Line, Seibu Kokubunji Line... With so many lines intersecting, it can get confusing. Now, this bakery is located near Yasaka Station, which is on the Seibu Tama Lake Line. About a 10-minute walk west from the south exit of Yasaka Station, you'll find "Itou Bakery." The exterior has a nostalgic feel, with a rare use of white in Tokyo. The entrance is a glass door with a faded sign, evoking a sense of nostalgia. Inside the store, you'll find a quaint and nostalgic atmosphere. The front display showcases bread and pastries, while the left-hand side features a showcase filled with bread. The display case exudes a sense of history. They must have been around for a long time. I tried the following items: - Spicy Curry Croquette: A plump croquette filled with curry in a soft bun. The spiciness is mild, suitable even for children. The filling is mainly potato, and the bun is fluffy. - Cheese Roll: A bread roll covered entirely with cheese. The bread has a slight elasticity. A simple and delicious cheese-flavored bread. - Hamburger: A hamburger patty sandwiched between sesame seed buns. The patty is soft and homey, seasoned simply with salt and pepper. - Chikuwa Sandwich: A chikuwa (fish cake) sandwiched in a bun. A straightforward chikuwa filling that goes well with the nostalgic atmosphere of the bakery. It's like taking a trip back to the Showa era in the Reiwa era. The appearance and taste of the bread evoke a sense of nostalgia.

I use it regularly. All prices are tax included. Cheap. British bread for 210 yen... Yamagata type. When toasted, it is crispy and light. It can also be used as a substitute for baguettes. Cut the 8-slice toast into about 8 pieces, top it with salad and cheese (sheep or cottage cheese), and drizzle with balsamic dressing for a happy meal. Bread for 180 yen... Square type. Compared to the Yamagata type, this one is moist. It has a gentle sweetness of wheat. It would be nice to have jam, ham, fried eggs, or just butter for a regular breakfast. Cheese dog for 130 yen... A nostalgic cheese dog that is rarely seen these days. It has a slightly sweet and soft waffle dough with a square stick of processed cheese inside, just that nostalgic taste! It's like a snack. I think in the area around Higashimurayama, the taste and price are top-notch. Well, I haven't conquered all the bakeries in Higashimurayama, but there is no bakery cheaper than this one, and the taste is delicious, so if you suddenly need bread, you might just go to Ito Bakery. If you use their bread for everyday meals, your satisfaction with home-cooked food will greatly increase. And the best thing is the pricing that can be used for everyday meals.

I went to "Itou Bakery" near Higashimurayama Chuo Park. All the items were priced at 200 yen or less. Most of the deli breads were in the 100 yen range, making it a great deal. I bought croquette bread, fish cutlet bread, shrimp cutlet, red bean paste bread, and chocolate coronet. The deli breads had a chewy texture that complemented the generous fillings. The chocolate coronet was a hit with the kids, with a sweet bread flavor. Toasting it really brings out the flavor. I had visited a few times before but they were closed, so I was lucky this time. It reminded me of the old famous bakery, Bonjour, in Kokubunji.

■I visit this bakery a few times on weekends. The first time I came around 2 p.m., but the cooking bread was already sold out, so I started coming in the morning and bought the cooking bread I wanted. ■I must admit that the appearance, interior, and atmosphere of the bakery look a bit run-down. I was aware of its existence but never paid much attention to it. I finally gathered the courage to step inside, and I'm glad I did. Although the shop is very small, the showcase is filled with delicious-looking bread that gets me excited. ■Food - "Menchi Pan" (230 yen): The menchi is huge! It's not just for show, it's really big. It's packed with minced meat and thick menchi, and one piece is enough to fill you up. It's as delicious as they say, and I'm very satisfied! - "Ebi Chili Croquette Pan" (160 yen): Spicy ebi chili flavor with plump shrimp inside. It has a slightly mature taste and is delicious. - "Salad Pan" (120 yen): A salad-flavored bread with macaroni, potatoes, carrots, onions, and mayonnaise. It has a refreshing taste and is delicious. - "French Toast" (136 yen): Bread soaked in egg and milk, topped with plenty of corn and mayonnaise. The corn is sweet, with the flavor of the egg and a hint of mayonnaise sourness. Delicious! - "Mask Melon Pan" (105 yen): Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. It's mildly sweet and delicious. - "Pizza Toast" (126 yen): Covered in plenty of cheese on soft bread. Delicious! ■Cost-Performance Cheaper than buying bread at a convenience store, incredibly tasty, and very filling. The cost-performance is excellent! ■Impressions Despite passing by frequently in the neighborhood, I had never noticed it before. The simple flavors of the bread make me feel nostalgic. They are all really delicious, and so far, I haven't had any disappointments. I plan to continue visiting frequently and aim to try all the cooking bread and other varieties.

When searching for bread in this area, Itou Bakery, which has high ratings, stands out. The store along the street has a nostalgic feel, and the inside is small, about the size of three tatami mats. If you go in the afternoon, you'll find that the bread in the showcase and on the shelves is running low! Popular items like the croquette bread are often sold out. I ended up buying a meat bun for 230 yen and an onion bread for 150 yen from the remaining selection of savory bread. The meat bun had a mild seasoning with minced meat mixed with onions, topped with a refreshing sauce. It was so big that the meat spilled out of the bread, but it was delicious and didn't cause heartburn. The onion bread had a firm texture with plenty of onions and mayonnaise, making it a tasty savory bread. You could easily eat two or three of them. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I heard there is a popular bakery right in the middle of a residential area and decided to visit. They are open on Sundays too. They open at 8 am, but I wonder if people going to work in Tokyo can make it in the morning... Maybe it's for locals or high school students nearby? For food, I chose the chicken fillet fry pan and croquette bread, which are popular items. The prices are reasonable and the portions are generous. The fried food itself is delicious. I also tried the peanut bread, which has a unique shape and is filled with plenty of peanut cream. It's cheaper than buying lunch at a convenience store.

I visited a bakery in December 2014 on a holiday evening and decided to try their takeout after seeing good reviews on Tabelog. The bakery looked like a typical one in town from the outside and inside, nothing particularly stood out. I bought a roll bread (100 yen excluding tax) and a loaf of bread, the classics. When I got home, the bread was still soft so I tried it without any spreads. And... I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was! The richness of the filling was amazing. It's packed with flavor and yet so tasty. And it's cheap too. With this level of quality, I would expect it to cost at least 500 yen for a loaf. But it's actually less than 200 yen. I haven't had such delicious bread in a long time.

Ah, this was a shop that I wanted to visit and write about by the end of this month. I had tried to visit this place once in the hot early summer, sweating and walking there, only to find a sign saying "temporarily closed." Since then, due to the distance from my workplace (considering the risk of this place being closed), I couldn't bring myself to go back. But before my transfer, I decided to give it one last chance! And when I visited this time... they were open! I arrived at 13:30. The shop was small and had a somewhat plain interior, but it had a nostalgic feel with its aged decor. It perfectly embodied the atmosphere of a Showa-era bakery in a town. The display case was almost empty, so I chose the "Camembert Roll," "Red Bean Bun," "Croquette Bun" (each 105 yen), and "Salad Bun" (115 yen). A friendly and polite lady served me with a smile. She was not overly friendly but not cold either, just right. I paid 430 yen for the four items. The value for money was so good that it made buying a drink from a vending machine seem silly! I sat on a bench in the East Musashino Chuo Park covered in fallen leaves and started with the Salad Bun. It was a round flat bread with a salad-like filling. Surprisingly delicious, with more filling than expected and a balanced taste with a hint of potato texture. Next was the Red Bean Bun, a slightly dry bread with a dense red bean paste. The paste was not too sweet and had a substantial texture. It would have been perfect with a glass of milk. The Croquette Bun was similar in style to the Salad Bun and was also delicious. The croquette had a perfect balance of Worcestershire sauce and a small amount of cabbage for crunch. Lastly, I saved the Camembert Roll for dessert. Layers of bread and cheese created a beautiful and rich flavor profile. The combination of bread and cheese was a delightful surprise. Each bite brought a small delight, building up into a joyful experience, much like a milk crepe. The craftsmanship and thoughtfulness put into these items were evident. The prices were unbelievably low for the quality. Despite the small size of each item, the taste was exceptional. I couldn't help but worry about the shop owner and whether they were making a profit with such reasonable prices. Overall, I had no regrets about making this my last meal before my transfer. However, as I write this review now, I deeply regret not visiting this place sooner. I could have experienced so much more.

In the evening, I passed by this bakery and peeked inside. I was hesitant to go in because the variety of bread was always limited and the shop looked old-fashioned. However, after reading a rave review about this bakery on a local gourmet blog in Higashi-Murayama, I decided to give it a try. I went in around 8 in the morning. The chikuwa bread was not ready yet. I bought a menchi katsu bread, a salad bread, a teriyaki chicken bread, a natto cheese bread, a cream anko bread, and a loaf of bread for 958 yen. It was a great deal. I had them for breakfast and they were all delicious. The bread itself was tasty, and the menchi katsu, salad, and teriyaki chicken were all really good. The menchi katsu was crispy, the salad was creamy but not heavy, and the natto cheese bread was surprisingly delicious. Even my husband, who doesn't usually like bread, loved it. My one and a half year old daughter enjoyed the loaf of bread by munching on it. The bakery may not look fancy, but the breads are heartwarming and leave a lasting impression. I'm happy to have a delicious bakery nearby and I might become a regular customer. I included a photo to show how good of a deal it was, I wish I had taken them out of the bag. I apologize for that.

About a 10-minute walk from Yagisaka Station on the Seibu Tama Lake Line. This is a bakery in Higashimurayama Fujimi-cho. The town used to have a clear view of Mount Fuji, hence the name Fujimi-cho. Now it is surrounded by residential areas, so it seems difficult to see Mount Fuji. This bakery has been visited by MyReviewer Aspar and Badulgram. When you enter the store, you will see a showcase with various types of bread, and in the back, a young man making bread. The staff are also young women. It feels good to be greeted by the bright voices of the two young people when you enter the store. I bought some unique items such as Chikuwa bread, Andonatsu, Anpan, and Hamburger bread. The prices are reasonable, starting from around 105 yen for items like Anpan and donuts. Chikuwa bread costs 128 yen. I tried it for the first time and was surprised by how well Chikuwa goes with bread. It's a delicious bread. The Hamburger bread costs 180 yen. It's perfect for when you want to eat something hearty and tasty, with a good amount of spices. The deli bread is also delicious, but the best is still the Anpan. It's a bread with plenty of red bean paste that you can really sink your teeth into. I want to try other bread as well, so I would like to visit again for a different kind of bread.

Today was another day for saving money. I was debating between getting onigiri or bread when the idea of getting a sandwich with various fillings popped into my head. So, I had to go to this bakery that I had been wanting to try with my bread maker for a while! It took me 15 minutes on my bike to arrive in front of the shop. The simple exterior gave off a feeling of being left behind by the times, but in a different way, very different from what I expected. I wasn't even sure if it was open. As I cautiously approached, I could see the bread lined up inside. It seemed like they were open. Gathering my courage, I entered the shop, where a friendly young female staff warmly welcomed me. I had assumed it would be an old man running the place alone, so this was a pleasant surprise! The format of selecting bread from the showcase with the help of the staff was similar to the bakery in Sakuradai, Fujin Bakery. I ordered the chikuwa bread (126 yen) that I had decided on from the start, and the staff kindly responded, "Chikuwa bread, right? Thank you♪". Next, I ordered the croquette bread (105 yen), and again received a polite response. I felt like ordering one more to show my appreciation, but today was all about saving money. With a heavy heart, I stopped ordering. In total, it came to 231 yen. I succeeded in saving money, but there was a tinge of regret. Back at work, I first tried the chikuwa dog. It was delicious!!! The most delicious chikuwa bread I've ever had!! (Only my second time though, haha). The chikuwa was tasty, and the bread was also delicious. Plus, it was quite filling. Next, the croquette bread. It was naturally delicious too♪ Considering the taste, portion size, and price, this bakery might be the pinnacle of sandwich shops. I'm very satisfied to have discovered this great place. I am grateful to the reviewers who I referred to for their reviews. I plan to revisit and eventually try all the varieties! ※ Carrying over 459 yen to next visit (as of 12/4).

Sometimes, I pedal aimlessly to Higashimurayama City! Remembering the nostalgic Higashimurayama Ondo by Shimura Ken, I find myself near "Yasaka Station". I receive a message from my family asking me to buy some side dish bread for lunch and come back. I search my current location and find "Ito Bakery" nearby. I head to the shop right away. I find "Ito Bakery" near a housing complex and a large park. I park my bike and storm into the store! Inside, there are regular sweet breads lined up in front, which you pick up with a tray and tongs to bring to the register. However, on the left side upon entering, there is a showcase with lovely savory breads. There are two types of buns made from coppe dough, one folded in half like a hamburger bun and the other in a regular coppe bread style. I buy a variety of 8 pieces for 946 yen. When I return home, my family is excited and clamoring as I show them my loot. We distribute the breads while making more noise, and eventually end up swapping out half of them, leaving the last one to be the same as the one we just ate... Below are my brief reviews of each bread. Chikuwa Bread: A chikuwa cut in half lengthwise, fried or in a thin tempura-like batter, sandwiched between coppe bread. It has a sauce flavor and some shredded cabbage. Croquette Bread: A large croquette sandwiched between folded buns. It has a sauce flavor and some shredded cabbage. Macaroni Salad? Macaroni Gratin? Bread: Macaroni with white sauce and mayo flavor sandwiched between folded buns. It's very filling. Tuna Cutlet Bread: A tuna cutlet similar to a menchi-katsu sandwiched between folded buns. It has a sauce flavor and some shredded cabbage. All of the breads are delicious! It costs 946 yen for 8 pieces, which is 118.25 yen per piece. Even if it takes me 130 minutes round trip by bike, I will go back again. I hope it gets cooler soon...

In the small town of Fujimi-cho in Higashimurayama City, there is a bakery called "Ito Bakery." When you head west from Yasaka Station along the Edo Highway, you will see the sign for "Ito Bakery" on your right. A highly recommended item here is their cooked bread! Among them, the must-try is the menchi-katsu. The combination of bread, menchi-katsu, and cabbage creates an unparalleled harmony, enveloping you in a sense of happiness with every bite! They sell out quickly, so you may need to go early in the morning to get them. It has been selected as a specialty of Higashimurayama and is known among those in the know. It would be great to buy freshly cooked bread early in the morning and enjoy it in a nearby park or somewhere similar... I visit every week because of the wonderful smiles and attentive service of the staff.

I finally visited this shop that I had been interested in since before June 2014! When you go straight from Yasaka Station along the bus street, you will see a sign! The sign and exterior are still in the Showa era. It's a tiny little bakery. "I wonder what they have..." is the vibe, but when you go inside, there is a tray and tongs on the right, and about 10 cute breads in front of you. The prices are also cheap, starting from 105 yen. And on the left, there are various shining sandwich breads. They are inside the showcase. On this day, it was before 10 o'clock, but there were more than 10 types. They all look delicious and cheap! I've never seen a shop where you can buy so many sandwich breads for under 200 yen. ● Crab cream 130 yen - The chunky crab cream croquette is sandwiched in the bread. When you eat it, ketchup comes out from the side of the croquette, along with cabbage, sauce, and more. It was well made and didn't feel like 130 yen. The croquette was creamy! ● White fish fry 150 yen - You might not be able to buy this for 150 yen in a bakery in the city center! It's solid, with tartar sauce overflowing on top of the fry. There's cabbage in this one too! ● Pumpkin bread 105 yen - A perfect size for children. You can tell there's a lot of filling because of its weight. Not too sweet, refreshing. I devoured it in no time. When I received the three items in a bag, I realized how heavy they were. It's a lot of volume! I thought it was really luxurious to be able to eat all this for 400 yen. The atmosphere of the shop is warm, and it makes you want to go back again!

The station is a bit far from Yasaka Station, and I was worried if the restaurant really existed. When searching for an unfamiliar area on Tabelog and finding a place, it gave me the impression of a historic restaurant known only to locals. In this day and age, you never know... But once I found the restaurant, I felt relieved. However, most of the breads were sold out, and the burgers and chikuwa bread that I was interested in were not available. There was a panda character looking at me. [Panda-chan] for 115 yen had a strangely intriguing expression. It didn't seem to be related to the panda boom, which was actually a good thing. If this was Ueno, I'm not sure if I would have reached out to it. It had a yellowish color. I realized after eating that it had a biscuit-like dough used for melon bread. I actually ended up buying melon bread too, so it was a bit of a overlap, but they are different so it's okay. Inside, there was a cream that exuded nostalgia. I hope to encounter burger-type breads next time, so maybe I should go a bit earlier next time.

I walked over to this bakery while my tires were being changed to winter ones at a nearby car shop. The bakery doesn't have a parking lot, so it's not easy to visit. I bought a variety of pastries for breakfast the next morning, including Stollen, for a total of 1260 yen, which was quite affordable. The Croquette bread, Chikuwa bread, and Salad bread, all priced around 100 yen, received good reviews from my family. In 2012, I tried to do an Advent by buying Stollen twice at the end of November and eating it gradually until Christmas, but we always finished it before Christmas (mainly because the expiration date was way before Christmas). However, this time, starting on December 23rd, we managed to keep the Stollen until Christmas (laughs). The Stollen here was unique as it had a normal bread-like texture with nuts inside, which was a nice change from the overly sweet ones. The simplicity and affordability of this Stollen were great. I might come back for a different pastry when I switch back to normal tires.
