In a townhouse-style building that looks like it could be in Gion, Kyoto, a Chinese restaurant opened last November after an Italian restaurant called "Dahiarosso" sadly closed last fall. Located right behind Takashimaya S.C. South Wing, at the eastern corner of Yanagikoji. It's about a 3-minute walk from Futakotamagawa Station on the Tokyu Denentoshi Line. I visited on a Sunday to try their newly introduced lunch menu. The restaurant has a chic and woody atmosphere, with both table and counter seats still intact from before. In front of the counter seats, you can see ingredients like salted eggs and yellow fungus displayed. Apart from set meals, there were also several options for noodles. Unfortunately, there were no yakisoba dishes available. After much deliberation, I decided to go with my favorite fried dish. I ordered the Chicken Karaage Set for 1,180 yen, which came with soup, dessert, and three side dishes. I was pleasantly surprised by the generous portion of egg soup with a rich dashi flavor, a mound of delicious rice, and three side dishes including braised fuki, tofu skin, chingensai, and yellow fungus salad, as well as a radish dish mixed with tuna. All the side dishes had a light seasoning. The dessert turned out to be a unique combination of yellow fungus, wolfberries, and jujube fruit in syrup. The highlight of the meal was the perfectly fried chicken karaage, served with a generous portion of cabbage and mayonnaise on the side. The chicken was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and seasoned just right. It was absolutely delicious! If I have the chance, I would love to try their noodles and gyoza next time.
