This seems to be a famous bento shop around here in the Edogawa area. I ordered the Mayo Mentai DX. It consisted of rice topped with cabbage, seaweed, mayonnaise, and a mixture of spicy cod roe, which alone made the rice delicious! It also came with fried chicken, fried white fish, croquette, and fried fish cake. A fantastic combination. I opted for extra rice for an additional 43 yen, which was worth it. There are various options like meat dishes available as well. It was my first time visiting, so I didn't fully understand the system, but if you're looking for a hearty bento, this is the place to go. This time, I ordered a grilled meat bento box. I think I waited about 5 minutes for it to be cooked after ordering. It was around just before 2 p.m., but even at that time, customers kept coming in one after another. Freshly made bento boxes are definitely popular. I will visit again when I feel like eating freshly made bento boxes.

I'm driving back from Kumagaya Station and feeling hungry, so I decided to stop by for some takeout at O-Bento Ichiban Matsue store. There are about 3 people waiting outside. I ordered a "Karaage Bento for 550 yen" and a "Niku Nasu Peppers Bento for 680 yen" including tax. After waiting for about 10 minutes outside, I was called in to pay. I received my food and added a little heat in the microwave for 30 seconds. First, I tried the Niku Nasu Peppers Bento. It had eggplant, bell peppers, pork, and onions in a soy sauce base. It had a slightly spicy and charred taste, with little sweetness. The meat was lean, so it lacked richness. The rice was a bit firm and dry, but it was made with domestic rice. Overall, it was a good value for money, and I would consider coming back for takeout again. Next time, I wonder what I should try.

I bought a bento for the first time in a while. As expected, the fried chicken bento here is delicious. However, I felt the recent wave of food price increases. The fried chicken bento, which used to be around 460 yen 1-2 years ago, was now 550 yen. It may have been just a coincidence, but I feel like the fried chicken pieces have also gotten a little smaller. Despite all the negatives I mentioned, the fried chicken here is still big and satisfying.

I was planning to have dinner, but it was already past 7 pm and most of the restaurants were closed. My friend and I were driving around, saying "If we don't find a place soon, everything will be closed" and looking around. Luckily, we found a restaurant that was still open and decided to buy bento boxes. There were a few customers waiting outside the restaurant. I decided to go for the steak bento for 615 yen. The steak was thin, lean, and decently sized. The rice had a sesame salt flavor with a pickled plum on top. The side dishes included shredded cabbage, spaghetti, and shredded pickled radish. The steak was tender and marinated in a sauce. The cabbage was a bit salty when eaten with the sauce. The spaghetti was a bit dry. My friend got the limited 10 servings of ginger grilled beef bento for 939 yen. We exchanged a piece of meat and found the ginger grilled beef to be tougher with a chewier texture. Perhaps the fact that they still had servings left after 7:30 pm was why it was tougher?

I wonder if they raised the prices a little due to inflation. Well, the bento here is delicious and has a good portion, so it's still a good value. This time, I tried the meat and eggplant bento. It was tasty - I'm satisfied with it for 630 yen.

Freshly made bento boxes from this bento shop are delicious after all. And the cost performance is good. I think the Nori Deluxe Bento Box had this much in it and was 442 yen. I am working remotely, so I will go buy it again.
