The day after White Day is a double anniversary. Occasionally, I wanted to eat BASEL cakes, so I went to "BASEL Takakura Store" where it is easy to park. The shop has about 8 parking spaces in front of it and not many cars passing by. In addition to cakes, they also offer baked goods, bread, and side dishes. I entered the shop, sanitized my hands, and found the slightly dim but stylish and cozy interior. You can also eat in the shop. I chose the following cakes from the showcase: Chocolate and Coffee Mousse (580 yen), Japanese Chestnut Mont Blanc (600 yen), Black Tea and Apricot Mousse (550 yen), Strawberry and Red Bean Pie (630 yen), Cherry Blossom Flurry (580 yen), Gateau Chocolat (500 yen), and Cheese Cake (500 yen). Payment can be made with cash, various credit cards, IC cards, and QR code payments like au PAY, which offers up to 20% cashback until March 22nd. I noticed the promotion only after making the payment. They packed the cakes in a box with a cold pack for the journey and put them in a BASEL logo vinyl bag. I took them home and immediately tried the Strawberry and Red Bean Pie, which was a big hit. It's not common to have red bean paste in a cake, and it was delicious. The combination of cream, red bean paste, and pie is unbeatable! And the Cherry Blossom Flurry was a perfect representation of spring. The middle layer was matcha mousse with a pink cherry blossom-scented mousse enveloping it, and inside the matcha mousse, there were Griottine cherries soaked in Kirsch. The Gateau Chocolat was just like the one I used to enjoy at BASEL in front of Keio Hachioji Station - not too sweet, with walnuts inside. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal! I will definitely go back for more.
