At the end of the year, we went to our family's annual event of shopping at an outdoor market. It's 6:30 in the morning, but some shops already have long lines. The famous owner is also selling tuna at the market. I spotted some delicious-looking fish cakes and when I was paying, I noticed strawberry daifuku next to me... it looked so good. I asked the shopkeeper if I could buy just one, and they said yes. You can choose from 5 different flavors of daifuku, so I chose custard. The strawberry had a good balance of sourness and sweetness. The shop in Tsukiji seems to specialize in daifuku, but this time I tried the banana juice with a shelf life of 15 minutes! It's made without sugar so you can fully taste the sweetness of the bananas. I ordered the chocolate banana juice which had added sugar, and it was delicious with the texture of the chocolate and the sweetness of the bananas. I also tried a sip of the plain banana juice my friend ordered, and the banana flavor spread wonderfully in my mouth, making it more banana-forward. If you find yourself thirsty while walking around Tsukiji, definitely give it a try!
