CADET Yamadaya, located a 3-minute walk from Shinjuku-sanchome Station in Tokyo, offers a simmered flounder set meal for 1210 yen. It is a lunch at a long-established blowfish cuisine restaurant. I arrived around 1 pm and was seated in the basement. When I placed my order verbally, a hot water bottle with a towel and tea were brought to me. The food arrived in about 10 minutes, and in addition to the main dish, there was a small dish of minced chicken and simmered hijiki seaweed, along with a small bowl. The flounder was big and had a rich flavor, very delicious. The small bowl contained enough white rice for two more servings, and the rice was also delicious. I topped it with the minced chicken and hijiki and finished it all. I am satisfied again today. Thank you for the meal!

I wanted to eat fish, so I found a lunch spot near Shinjuku Sanchome Station, just a 5-minute walk away. It's a fugu (blowfish) restaurant, but their lunch set meals are reasonably priced and offer good value. I ordered the flounder simmered in soy sauce set meal. It was a lunch that made me want to come back again. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the restaurant for dinner and all the dishes served were delicious. Especially the blowfish sashimi and fried chicken were outstanding. They were served with ponzu sauce and grated daikon radish. It was convenient to have private rooms available. The dishes were served promptly without much waiting time. I might try going for lunch next time.

I ordered the highest course, which is mainly a blowfish full course. It's a shame they don't have grilled blowfish. The standout dish is the thickly sliced blowfish sashimi. The blowfish milt sake is sweet and has a taste similar to sweet sake. The fried blowfish is as big as chicken wings.

This is a restaurant located in the izakaya district of Shinjuku Sanchome. It is a traditional Japanese pub where you can enjoy fugu (blowfish) at night. They also serve lunch due to being surrounded by offices. During lunchtime, this popular spot can get crowded, but they have seating available on the basement floor with a decent capacity. One of their popular dishes is the simmered flounder for 1,100 yen. It is a seafood izakaya dish with plump fish simmered in a rich sauce, perfect for pairing with rice. They also serve side dishes, soup, and minced meat, which all go well with rice. If you're ever unsure about where to eat for lunch in Shinjuku Sanchome, this place is a good choice. Thank you for the meal.

In Shinjuku Sanchome, there is a fugu (blowfish) restaurant. I haven't tried their fugu dishes, but I often use this place for lunch. Originally, the main branch was in Ginza, but they opened here independently 30 years ago. The lunch menu includes fugu dishes, but I usually choose between two options. The first is Kagoshima black pork stew, which I order most frequently. The second is butter-grilled salmon. The lunch set includes rice, miso soup, three side dishes, a mini salad, and pickles. The portions seem more generous than before, especially the pork stew. The fatty, tender meat with a sweet stew sauce goes perfectly with rice. They have individual counters, so you can eat as much as you want. The butter-grilled salmon has a moist texture and a buttery aroma that makes it hard to resist. I sometimes think I should try the sea bream tea rice, but I always end up choosing between the pork stew and salmon.

I attended a slightly early year-end party at this restaurant for the first time. I heard that they have been in Shinjuku for 38 years since moving from their Ginza main branch. They have spacious private rooms which seem suitable for business entertainment. I had a full course meal of blowfish, from sashimi to deep-fried blowfish and porridge, all with an elegant and rich flavor. The sweet potato shochu that I drank with the meal was also delicious. The atmosphere of the restaurant, with its traditional and calm ambiance, provided a soothing space amidst the hustle and bustle of Shinjuku. Thank you for the wonderful meal! (*´ω`*)

Today's lunch was at a slightly fancy restaurant! Oh, the lunch at Fugu Yamadaya sounds good! I come here about once a year, but this is the first time I'm writing a review! My top recommendations at Fugu Yamadaya are the braised pork belly and the butter-grilled salmon! I feel like having salmon in the fall, so let's go with the butter-grilled salmon! The salmon is grilled to a crispy and fragrant finish, with the butter soy sauce bringing out its umami flavor! The side vegetables are nicely colorful, giving a Japanese-style feel. The small side dish of gelatinous fugu scraps goes well with the rice! But don't worry, you can have unlimited refills of rice in the traditional wooden rice container, so you can eat to your heart's content! I can't eat as much, but the homemade refined nukazuke and the dashi-flavored miso soup make the meal complete! I'm feeling a bit sleepy now after getting full, but it won't affect my afternoon work too much! I'm already looking forward to trying the fugu course for dinner next time!

During lunchtime in Shinjuku, I was drawn to the exterior of a restaurant and decided to go in. The lunch menu included dishes like simmered flounder, Wagyu beef with oil, and sea bream rice bowl, but I ended up choosing the braised pork belly set meal. There was also a blowfish lunch menu available. At first, I thought there was a lot of fat in the pork belly, but it had a nice sweetness and paired well with the rice. The fat melted in my mouth. The way the rice was cooked was just to my liking. The vegetables served, like potatoes, also had a delicious flavor. I wanted to pour the broth over the rice as a finish, but I was dining with business associates so I refrained. When it came time to pay, I was surprised to hear from the proprietress that this restaurant was a sister establishment of "Wanofu" in Tsukiji, where we had a business dinner last week.

The name sounds modern with a mix of English, but the actual restaurant has a traditional and charming atmosphere. You can enjoy a meal in a comforting space. The sashimi is consistently thick and beautifully sliced, with a satisfying texture. The hot pot is also good with typical ingredients. The shark fin sake is flavorful and you may feel like having multiple cups. The service from the staff is gentle and pleasant. The only downside is that the stairs smell unpleasant. Despite that, I still think it is a good restaurant.

On a steamy hot day like this, I had a lunch of fugu sashimi at Yamadaya in a backstreet-like location in Shinjuku San-chome. It's a fancy building with Yamadaya everywhere. It was bustling with local businessmen. I was led downstairs. The fugu sashimi set meal costs around 3000 yen. I haven't had enough fugu sashimi to appreciate its goodness, but it was delicious. The simmered dish was also flavorful. You can eat as much rice as you want. There were other dishes like braised pork belly that looked tasty. It seems very convenient to use.

The sea bream tea pickles for 1,300 yen were too good of a deal for the portion size. It was delicious, so I want to go back again. ☺️

I was invited to try the salmon butter sauté set meal with unlimited refills of rice. It comes with plenty of side dishes that go well with the rice. The restaurant has a calm atmosphere.

It is likely that you may not understand fugu, but the fugu sashimi is slightly dry and the restaurant is nothing special. The point is that you can eat in a calm atmosphere even though it's in Shinjuku.

I treated three people who helped me while living in the United States. We had made a reservation for three people and arrived about 20 minutes early, but we were warmly shown to our room. The room was a private space and had a nice, calming atmosphere. We ordered the blowfish course menu, but unfortunately, the blowfish didn't taste good. The blowfish sashimi seemed like it had been sitting in the fridge for a while. The blowfish fin sake was the only saving grace. I feel like places like Torafugu-tei or Genpin Fugu offer much tastier blowfish dishes. Paying nearly 60,000 yen for three people for this experience is not acceptable. I wanted to treat my benefactor who came all the way from the United States to Japan to blowfish, something they can't eat in the US, but it was disappointing.
