The highlight was the tuna sashimi, which was fresh and delicious. The beef tendon stew was rich and satisfying. I couldn't resist ordering the crab-stuffed shiitake tempura, which was a delight. The eggplant and shrimp dish in silver sauce was a perfect balance of flavors. The golden-eyed snapper simmered in soy sauce was tender and flavorful. The conger eel rice bowl was topped with fragrant shiso leaves and sesame seeds. Each dish left me completely satisfied. The restaurant offers high-quality dishes that are worth the price. It's a hidden gem in Gotanda that I wish was located in a more accessible area.

☆Gotanda Station East Exit☆ I visited the izakaya, seafood, and lunch set restaurant "Yuyamaten" for the first time for lunch. For the set meal, you can choose from several types of sashimi, grilled fish, and simmered dishes. I decided to try the simmered silver cod. The simmered dish was tender and flavorful, making the white rice even more delicious. Thank you for the meal.

When you get off at Gotanda Station and walk east through the back alleys, you will come across this izakaya nestled in a narrow street. I had the chance to explore the area around lunchtime and was looking for a Japanese lunch option when I stumbled upon it. It seems like they have recently reduced the number of items on their menu, but you can still order not only their specialty fish dishes but also meat-based set meals. The flavors are rich and you can really feel the skill of the chefs at this restaurant. The high quality of the ingredients and their keen selection are evident. I look forward to enjoying some drinks here at night next time.

I went to "Yuyamatei" in Gotanda Ichibangai for lunch on this day. It's located in front of "Shiba". I was seated at the counter and ordered the grilled fish set meal with mackerel. After ordering, I noticed the sign saying "Free extra rice" and felt like I did it again, I should have checked the menu properly. Half a mackerel was served. I thought fish dishes are expensive as I enjoyed it. The mixed plate of fried oysters and horse mackerel that the person next to me was eating looked delicious. When it was 1:30 pm, they started removing menus and empty plates. I felt like I was being rushed out of the restaurant. It seems like they close before 2 pm.

It's lunchtime at an izakaya located down a narrow alley near the east exit of JR Gotanda Station, heading towards Yurakucho. Upon entering, the unpleasant smell fills the air. The dimly lit interior leads to a counter seat for solo diners. I ordered the ginger pork set meal for 800 yen. The food arrives promptly, typical of izakaya lunch service. The thick slices of meat in the ginger pork dish provided a satisfying chew. The ginger flavor was just right. The set also came with a side of rolled omelette and kimchi. Unfortunately, I was forced to pay with cash despite a QR code for payment available at the end.

On Thursday at 12:20 PM on June 5th, I received a strange request to "enter the mountain with bold steps" and felt like I was in an odd situation. So, I decided to visit "Yuuyamaten" for lunch. I was seated at the counter and checked the menu. I ordered the weekly special side dish set for 900 yen. It seemed like just one side dish, but it actually came with an extra dish. The dish arrived in about 5 minutes. The weekly special was "Chinjao Rosu" (sweet and spicy pork). It was stir-fried nicely with crunchy green peppers. The meat was delicious, but the portion was a bit small. It also came with tuna sashimi and rolled omelette, but the amount was like a snack for a kitten. I wished there was more. The rice was piping hot! It seemed to be saying, "Come at me, you sensitive tongues!" and indeed, I burnt my tongue! Lesson learned - don't push yourself if you have a sensitive tongue. The miso soup was average. I wonder if this place specializes in fish dishes. Overall, it was a decent meal. Thank you!

I was taken to this restaurant by a salesperson from one of our clients. It's a quaint traditional Japanese restaurant in the bustling area of Gotanda. The atmosphere felt very mature and sophisticated. We were seated at the counter and enjoyed some recommended sashimi and appetizers, as well as some sake. Everything was delicious! As you grow older, you start to appreciate these kinds of dishes and settings more. If there was a place like this near my home, I would definitely visit every night. I felt like eating delicious fish for lunch, so I came to this restaurant that I had been checking out. The inside of the restaurant was lively and bustling, but there were enough seats so I was able to get in without having to wait. They offer 9 different lunch options including grilled fish, sashimi, meat, curry, and hot pot, so there is a wide variety to choose from. I ordered the grilled fish set meal (grilled Akoudai marinated in sake lees) for 900 yen, with the option of extra rice for free. It took about 10 minutes for the food to arrive, and the Akoudai looked delicious. The rice was made with new crop Koshihikari rice and was fluffy and tasty. The miso soup, tofu, and salad were also delicious. However, the main dish of Akoudai was a bit disappointing. The grilling was not quite right. Overall, the meal was tasty, but it was a shame about the Akoudai. Thank you for the meal.

[2018.10 Visit] I occasionally visit this restaurant for lunch with my colleagues from work. The regular menu consists of fish-based set meals and pork cutlet curry, with a weekly changing set meal option. There are usually 7-8 lunch set options to choose from. Although the sashimi caught my eye, this time I decided on the weekly special, the green pepper pork set meal, which was reasonably priced. It was a bit different as it had glass noodles in it, giving it a slight sour taste. The set meal also came with a side of sashimi and vegetables, so the nutritional balance was good. However, when we arrived after 1 pm, the miso soup was a bit lukewarm... Overall, it was a relaxing lunch. Thank you for the meal~

Katsuni set meal for ¥900. I was drawn in by the colorful side dish in the photo at the storefront. In reality, it was just a small portion of raw vegetables and a slice of rolled omelette. Since it's katsuni, it had eggs in it. I felt a bit disappointed. This place is perfect for those who want to eat a lot of rice. It's tough to find good Japanese food in Gotanda.

I used it on Friday night. I had a variety of sashimi and a few other dishes, all of which were delicious. The sashimi in particular was excellent, with a wide variety and rich flavor. The cuts and presentation were beautiful. Some were seared, showing attention to detail. I think it's a convenient and good restaurant. I would like to visit this place when I have business in Gotanda.

After finishing work, I was taken to this restaurant by a colleague. We ordered sashimi together. It was okay, not great but not bad either, all the dishes were moderately tasty. The attitude of the staff was polite and the timing of the dishes arriving was just right. However, I was a bit bothered by the noticeable dirt on the table before sitting down.

Yuyamadou has become a favorite, so this was my third visit. I used it to entertain customers who like Japanese sake. Unfortunately, both the sashimi assortment and simmered dishes were small in size, and I had introduced it as a good restaurant to my customers, but the quality was completely different from the first and second visits. Of course, the price remains the same. I wonder if there will be a next time.
