I bought "Hiyoko". This is a Tokyo-exclusive "Black Tea Hiyoko". Inside the box, there are 7 Hiyoko, arranged in 3 rows of 3. The crispy skin contains black tea paste with Japanese brown sugar. The elegant aroma and sweet paste have a surprisingly good combination. The cute shape is so soothing to look at. 7 pieces for 1080 yen. Piyo Piyo♡

Good morning. Before my flight, I bought a bento box. Among many options, I chose the "Chicken Trio" for 760 yen. The shiny chicken meat with sweet sauce was delicious. It had a combination of chicken mince and scrambled eggs, which was very tasty. P.S. This time, I'm heading to Fukui Prefecture for a project to fill in the map of Japan.

On the weekend, we had plans to visit our grandparents so we flew to Yamaguchi Ube with our family. This time, we decided to stay at a hotel for two nights. For lunch on the day of departure, we bought food at "PIRE" in the 2nd terminal to eat on the plane. The item we selected was the "Chibi Musubi" (¥493 tax included), which includes 4 mini rice balls and pickles. - Salmon Mayo: The moist texture of the salmon paired with mayonnaise was excellent. The ikura (salmon roe) on top added a nice touch. - Karaage (fried chicken): Bite-sized karaage that can be enjoyed together with the Chibi Musubi. - Nanohana and Umeboshi: White sesame seeds added an accent to the nanohana rice ball. The sourness of the umeboshi was delicious. - Chirimen Jako (dried young sardines) Tsukudani: Well-seasoned chirimen jako that paired well with the rice and seaweed. - Pickles: Included red turnip pickles, Nara pickles, and takuan. It was nice to be able to enjoy a variety of pickles. - Edamame: Plump and sweet beans that were delicious. Thank you for the meal!

Weekend morning. I bought an iced cafe latte from the neighboring 3rd Seaside Cafe and had breakfast together. Haneda Airport. Inside the departure gate on the 2nd floor of Haneda Airport Terminal 2 (ANA side), to the left after security checkpoint C. Between gates 62-63. Next to the 3rd Seaside Cafe. There are 3 PIER stores in Haneda Airport Terminal 2. Between gates 58-59, between gates 62-63, and near gate 70. They sell souvenirs and light snacks for takeout. There are chairs for waiting around. There are standing tables next to the 3rd Seaside Cafe. The "Whole Pumpkin Bagel" for 183 yen was delicious. It was slightly sweet, dense, moist, and chewy. A satisfying breakfast.

In May 2016, I used Haneda Airport in Tokyo. The weather was nice and I felt thirsty. I had some time before boarding, so I decided to visit a bar. They had a variety of soft drinks, beer, sake, and snacks. I bought a Premium Malt beer for 260 yen and enjoyed my time until boarding.

Located near Gate 63 on the 2nd floor of Haneda Airport Terminal 2, this pier is situated just past the Departure Security Checkpoint C. It is connected to the adjacent 3rd Seaside Cafe. This place is always crowded due to its convenient location. While the Seaside Cafe offers draft beer, it lacks a variety of snacks, so it's best to grab some snacks here! One recommended option is the "Happy Turn" snack from Ajika Co., a subsidiary of Kameda Seika Group, priced at 108 yen for a 36g pack. These snacks are not individually wrapped, but the powder coating is delicious. It may get your hands dirty, but once you start, you won't be able to stop. Enjoy the lucky deliciousness of Happy Turn!

This is a shop near the boarding gates at Haneda Airport's Domestic Terminal 2. It is operated by Japan Airport Building Co., Ltd., the owner of the terminal building itself. I came across a display of onigiri from Ohashi Shinkurou Shoten when passing by here around 8 o'clock in the morning on a business trip. These onigiri are a collaboration between the small, long-established seaweed shop Ohashi Shinkurou Shoten in Omori and Japan Airport Delica. Despite being on sale for quite some time, the fact that they are still available suggests that they are quite popular. As someone who loves their roasted seaweed and seasoned seaweed (such as Hi-Ha seaweed), I couldn't ignore the mountain of these onigiri. Feeling a bit hungry, I decided to purchase the Chicken Gomoku onigiri for 200 yen out of the 5 varieties available, which included Kishu Nankou Ume, Hidakonbu, Red Salmon, Spicy Cod Roe, and Chicken Gomoku. I sat down at a seat near the gate to eat before boarding and found that the seaweed was indeed delicious. It had a strong seaweed flavor. However, the downside was that the moisture from the cooked rice had seeped into the seaweed, making it quite wet. It's not like it has to be crispy. I actually think it's delicious when the seaweed and rice blend a little, but this was a bit too much blending. I expect a bit more moderation in their relationship.

Last year in August, my family decided to travel to Okinawa for sightseeing, as it has been a while since our last visit. The main purpose of our trip is to participate in a marathon held in Nago City. Before boarding the flight from Haneda to Naha, we decided to buy some dorayaki. We don't visit airports often, only a few times a year for personal trips, so we were naturally interested in the shops inside the airport. Last time we visited Haneda Airport, we bought dorayaki from a different shop, but it was not homemade and didn't sit well with us. This time, we found a dorayaki called "San Dora Ichigo" at the ANA Festa shop run by Bunmeido. The "San" in the name caught our attention, but we decided to buy it without delving too much into its meaning. Within Bunmeido, the San Dora is positioned as a Western-style dorayaki compared to the traditional Mikasayama dorayaki. We bought the San Dora and moved to the boarding lobby. Normally, we would weigh the dorayaki at home, but we forgot to bring our kitchen scale this time. The dorayaki seemed to weigh around 60g. Considering the price of ¥110, it was not a particularly large size. The dorayaki consisted of 10 different food additives, giving it a well-rounded flavor. The slightly pancake-shaped skin was moist and had a good texture. The fine texture melted smoothly in the mouth. The white bean paste base with strawberry was smooth and enhanced the sweetness and acidity of the strawberry. However, the paste was slightly dry, which was a minor downside. The flavor was relatively light, making it a good choice for a snack at the airport, especially considering the price. Next stop, Okinawa!

I am heading back to Akita for a visit. Since I have a midday flight, I was debating whether to grab a quick bite at a restaurant or bring a bento box on board to eat. I decided to go with the bento box since it would be more relaxing to eat on the plane. There were so many bento box options to choose from, with delicious-looking ones and some with unique varieties stacked up. Although I was tempted by the Tottori prefecture's hatahata sushi, a limited edition Fukuoka mentaiko and Sendai beef tongue bento caught my eye and I chose that one. I love Fukuoka's mentaiko and beef tongue, so I was curious about how they would taste together. The bento also came with kinpira gobou and tamagoyaki as side dishes. The cost of 1080 yen seemed reasonable for this in-flight meal. Despite the turbulence during the flight, I couldn't resist opening the bento box and enjoying it with a can of beer. The beef tongue was thinly sliced and not too strong in flavor, while the mentaiko added a nice kick when paired with the beef tongue. The rice with mentaiko was especially delicious. Overall, the combination of mentaiko and beef tongue worked well together, and the bento box was satisfying.

At Haneda Airport, after passing through baggage inspection, there is a shop inside ANA's boarding lobby selling various types of bento boxes, sandwiches, and souvenirs. This time, I tried the "Yonesuke's Specialty Tempura Rice Ball" (650 yen). The tempura rice ball includes five types: "Shrimp Tempura Rice Ball," "Pepper-Flavored Shrimp Tempura Rice Ball," "Scallop Tempura Rice Ball," "Chicken Tempura Rice Ball," and "Lotus Root Tempura Rice Ball." The shrimp tempura rice ball had plump shrimp with a pepper-flavored touch, and the tempura sauce jelly was placed underneath the shrimp. The fact that it's not a liquid is a unique touch for an in-flight meal. It's nice that the amount of jelly is not overwhelming. The scallop and lotus root tempura rice balls were also enjoyable, but the chicken tempura rice ball lacked a strong chicken flavor, and the rice was slightly firm, which was a bit disappointing. It's a great shop to enjoy various bento boxes during the busy pre-flight period. Compared to train station bento boxes, it still has room for improvement, but I hope to see further enhancements in the future. <Menu> Yonesuke's Specialty Tempura Rice Ball: 650 yen Komehachi's Inari Sushi: 450 yen Yoshikami Cutlet Sandwich: 680 yen...and more. <Store Information> Address: Haneda Airport 3-3-2, Ota-ku, Tokyo Phone: 03-6428-8711 Business Hours: 6:00 AM - 9:00 PM Closed: None Parking: None (Non-affiliated airport parking available) <Star Rating Criteria> 1 = Won't visit again. 2 = Average, neither good nor bad. 3 = Decent, would revisit if the opportunity arises. 4 = Must-visit when in the area, recommended to friends. 5 = Will definitely revisit this place.

[2013 Souvenirs] I received souvenirs. The project team, mainly consisting of sales staff at Haneda Airport, developed a private brand product series. The first installment is Happy Couhens, the second is Happy Sablé (available in maple and chocolate flavors), and the third is Happy Maron. I received all three types. - Happy Couhens: There are two flavors available, vanilla and chocolate. They are small doughnut-shaped cakes, individually wrapped, making them perfect for sharing with colleagues or others. The taste is honestly quite ordinary. - Happy Sablé: These are shortbread cookies shaped like airplanes, available in maple and chocolate flavors. They have a crispy texture and are visually appealing, making them great souvenirs. - Happy Maron: A friend going to Tokyo was requested to bring back this snack. It is a dome-shaped Baumkuchen with a chestnut inside. The moist texture is more fluffy than dense. It's quite delicious. I received Happy Maron as a souvenir multiple times at work, and it seems to be well-received. I've conquered the first, second, and third installments! I wonder if there will be a fourth in the future? I hope to receive it again. Thank you for the treats!

After visiting the Qianhikiya main store at Haneda Airport Terminal 2 South Pier, I purchased a pack of Yonehachi's rice ball inari for ¥450 at this shop. There was also a pack of 5 available for around ¥740. There were various small rice ball bento boxes from different manufacturers, but I was drawn to the chestnut in the center. In addition to the popular inflight meals, mackerel sushi, and pork cutlet sandwiches, they also sold Junoesque bagel sandwiches and rusk. I found a window seat near the boarding gate, so I enjoyed my meal while watching airplanes and my son's favorite "working vehicles." The surface of the rice ball was slightly dry, but the chewy texture of the glutinous rice and the strong sweetness of the fried tofu skin were comforting. One rice ball is about two bites in size. The beans require good chewing, so even a small amount is satisfying. It was nice to be able to eat three different types of rice balls - red bean rice, chestnut rice, and mountain vegetable rice. I was surprised that the beans next to the chestnut rice ball were salty. I wondered if I had unconsciously chosen vegetarian dishes, as I recalled the inari sushi and nori rolls served at a wake.

Tokyo Campanella's limited edition item for spring is a strawberry flavor called "Fresh Phrase". It is a crispy tart with a mild sweetness and tangy strawberries on top, sprinkled with pie crust. It's honestly a bit difficult to eat because the pie crust tends to crumble, but it was delicious. It might be a good choice for a hand-carried gift as you can eat it with your hands. However, if you plan to bring it back to Osaka, be prepared for the weight as it comes with a large ice pack. I found out they also have a chocolate version, but I was impressed by the strawberry flavor, so I'm curious about the chocolate one too.

Haneda Airport limited edition - Cafe Chocolatwich collaboration between Sanbon Coffee and La Maison Shirogane! Sanbon Coffee's coarsely ground coffee is mixed into Belgian Couverture chocolate, sandwiched between crispy cookie dough. Enjoy three flavors: bitter chocolate "Coffee", white chocolate "Café Latte", and caramel-flavored chocolate "Caramel Latte". I tried the Café Latte flavor and it was not too sweet, crispy, and had coffee beans in the chocolate! Very elegant and delicious - a taste of the city! Also, another shop called HIGASHIYA in Ginza offers two types of treats: ginger and Daikokuji natto. Very stylish! It seems like they can appeal with good taste that can't be achieved with typical sweets. I'll report again after trying them!

In December 2014, this bento box also served as a souvenir for my eldest son's business trip. The bento box was the "Taimeiken Western-style Pork Ginger Bento" (made by Taimeiken). Taimeiken in Nihonbashi was established in 1931 as a Western-style restaurant. Their signature dish is Omu-rice, and they even have the recipe available on their website. The Pork Ginger Bento consisted of rice topped with pork and sautéed onions, seasoned with a ginger sauce that gave it a spicy flavor, stimulating the appetite. The pork was made with lean loin meat, giving the bento a rich and hearty taste. The other side dishes included Napolitan, rolled omelette, and pickled string beans.
