There is a saying that goes "prefers the color of heroes," and Hiroyuki mentioned that one of the top 3 things that successful people have in common is having a strong sexual desire. The 3rd place is "speaking bluntly without considering if the other person will be hurt," and the 2nd place is "being disliked by a certain number of people." This seems to be true for some business leaders I know. Natural-born leaders are sometimes called "self-made," but recently there has been a lot of attention on Breaking Down, a group of ambitious individuals aiming for a life-changing breakthrough. When it comes to self-made success, I think of Eikichi Yazawa, who originally started in the 1970s as a rock band, and the band name is #CAROL. Today's morning spot is #CAROL, which I saw opens at 8 am online, but in reality, it opens at 9 am. The menu they offer besides morning sets is extensive, making it hard to decide. I ordered the #light meal set. The spacious interior of the restaurant was a bit cluttered with a pop feel. The meal arrived after about 7 minutes, and the plate was filled with a substantial amount of food. First, I tried the thick #toast, which was crispy and chewy, making it delicious. The #omelette that followed had a creamy buttery taste, which was also tasty. The fresh #orange juice was delicious too. The #salad had a beautiful presentation, with a base of #potato salad mixed with eggs, perhaps? The dressing had a unique flavor, and the sweetness of paprika and corn made the salad delicious. Despite the generous portion, I was satisfied, and finishing with strawberry yogurt and a leisurely cup of #coffee made me feel happy. I'm curious about the curry menu, so I definitely want to come back again.

Here is a review of the restaurant known for its baked curry. I finally visited during lunchtime and tried the baked curry plate. It was full of vegetables, came with yogurt and coffee, and was priced at 900 yen. The curry was nostalgic and the generous amount of cheese was delicious. My husband had the baked curry as well, which was served piping hot. The restaurant has a retro interior and a welcoming atmosphere. I would love to try their sandwich menu next time.

I ordered the pork kimchi aiming to conquer all of Carol's menu! There was a lot of rice and a lot of pork kimchi, so I couldn't finish it by myself, and I had my partner help me finish it! It was very hearty and satisfyingly delicious!

Located next to the Nishiazabu Fire Department Nihonenoike branch, next to Boulangerie Seiji Asakura, this shop exudes a retro Showa-era coffee shop vibe. The overall taste is satisfactory, with set menus offering generous portions (almost too much for me). The menu includes retro Showa-era dishes, and the master chef, who runs the place alone, can sometimes be slow when it gets busy (though he seems to be making efforts to serve quickly). A few days ago, I ordered the Roll Pan Plate for ¥800, which came with two roll pan sandwiches (egg and vegetables), salad (homemade dressing), yogurt, orange juice, and coffee on a large plate. The egg filling and homemade dressing were excellent! Today, in a similar situation, I ordered the Egg Sandwich Plate for ¥800. It came with two pieces of egg sandwich (equivalent to 2 slices of toast), salad (homemade dressing), and coffee on a large plate. The egg sandwich was delicious, but the portion was so large that I couldn't finish the whole thing. The menu also includes Showa-era retro dishes like Napolitan, which I would like to try next time.

I found a cute cafe restaurant in Shirokanedai, which I thought lacked many dining options. The menu is mainly Western food, and I ordered the recommended baked curry. I was worried if it would be enough, but it came with salad and the baked curry was generously topped with cheese, enhancing the spiciness of the curry. It was delicious and filling. The food was tasty and reasonably priced, so it seems like it will become a regular spot for me.

Visited "Seijiasakura" next door on a day with heavy rain, where my umbrella was useless and the buses were still not running. I sought shelter from the rain at this shop. Ordered a cafe au lait for 500 yen. The warm cafe au lait was perfect for my cold, wet body. It had a mild and gentle taste, with plenty of milk in the coffee. Ideal for a relaxing morning on a holiday. The interior had a handmade feel with a touch of age. The colorful chairs with green backs and the red bookshelf gave off a Pinocchio-like impression. Despite the colorful decor, the atmosphere was calming, perhaps because everything seemed to have aged gracefully. The Western-style menu with dishes like curry and ginger pork all looked delicious. I would like to visit again, this time not for the bakery but for the cozy atmosphere and tasty food. This place seems like a rare find in the area, resembling a good old-fashioned diner. The kindness of the staff was also appreciated. Thank you for saving me from the rain!

I have been passing by this restaurant for years without paying much attention, but recently I heard good things about it so I decided to give it a try. It's a small place that can only fit about 12 people, and the menu is 100% Western cuisine. They offer trendy items like baked curry instead of the old-fashioned ones. I ordered the dry curry that I had heard about. Wow, the portion size is huge... I think it's equivalent to three bowls of rice + hamburger, chicken, and fried egg on top, which is really satisfying. The hamburger and chicken were juicy and flavorful, and I enjoyed them. You might feel that the dry curry tastes a bit bland at first, given the amount, but it gets better as you eat. So, for those with a small appetite, it might be good to add some pickles for extra flavor. I usually don't eat pickles, but I tried it this time and it was delicious. It was my first time thinking that pickles are so tasty. Maybe it was a good match with the dry curry. I will definitely go back again. I might even go this week. Haha.

Carroll is a place where you can enjoy the famous Taknawa-style baked curry. Located next to Boulangerie Seiji Asakura, it has an old-fashioned town cafe atmosphere. I ordered the vegetable baked curry. It takes a bit of time to bake in the oven. After waiting for about 15 minutes, a bubbling skillet is brought to the table. It is generously topped with cheese, and bubbles of cheese magma appear and disappear. When you eat it with a spoon, you'll find layers of curry, chunky vegetables, and cheese, creating a delicious balance. The vegetables, such as potatoes, eggplants, carrots, pumpkins, broccoli, and cauliflower, are cut into large pieces and have a delicious texture. I enjoyed the Taknawa-style baked curry.

I went to a retro coffee shop in Takanawa. I tried the egg sandwich and dry curry, both of which were very filling. And delicious. I prefer this hearty coffee shop meal over fancy cafe food. Plus, it's a great value for under 1,000 yen for a set. Although the baked curry is a specialty, I didn't try it this time. I want to try it next time. Thank you for the meal.

Next to the super bakery, Boulangerie Seiji Asakura, there is a cafe that has been dominated by a long line of customers waiting for bread for many years. From the outside, it looks like an ordinary cafe. It gives off a worn-out, makeshift, and cheap Napoli-style vibe. They even boldly advertise themselves as a famous dish in Takanawa, like baked curry, which made me feel hesitant. However, I had the opportunity to try it out. Even at 2:30 pm, they still had lunch menus available. The baked curry is apparently popular, so I ordered the set with beer. I was surprised! The curry had a generous amount of cheese, was piping hot, and had various ingredients mixed in the special curry roux. The rice was dry curry. It was incredibly delicious. The owner is calm and kind. The place is always packed. I was so impressed by this hidden gem.

I bought bread at the bakery next door and decided to have lunch at Carol's. The Napolitan was delicious! The master said it would take some time, but it was worth the wait. Soup and pasta for 800 yen, plus 200 yen for a salad and drink. The salad was plentiful in a small bowl, and the iced coffee was poured with care and delicious! Thank you, master. I will definitely go again.

On a sunny and warm spring holiday, I visited a place near the entrance during a walk and ordered the famous Takano specialty, "baked curry." It was a dry curry with plenty of vegetables like pumpkin and carrots, topped with lots of cheese. It came with a satisfying salad and soup, so I left feeling full. My companion ordered the "egg sandwich plate," which was also very filling. The peaceful atmosphere and the leisurely passing of time in the quiet restaurant made me feel content both physically and mentally. Thank you for the delicious meal.

A cozy café near Takanawa Fire Station Nihon'enoki Branch. The small interior exudes a nostalgic atmosphere. It's a cluttered space, reminiscent of old-fashioned cafés. Sipping on cold coffee, a student in jeans reads a book. The smoke from the cigarettes in the neighboring ashtray drifts through the cafe. But nowadays, it's not like that anymore. I had an egg sandwich. It came on one plate, generously filled with eggs. As I ate, the eggs spilled out. When I left the café, I was on Nihon'enoki Street. Takanawa still has some old shops remaining.

In late November, in between remote work, I had lunch with my family. The restaurant is a 10-minute walk from Takanawa-dai Station, and although you can also walk from the new Takanawa Gateway station on the Yamanote Line, it's quite a steep uphill climb. Next to it is a very popular bakery. Since we had dinner plans a bit later in the day, we opted for a hearty lunch. I chose the vegetable option for the baked curry, which you can add for an extra 100 yen. For the set drink, I went with the delicious iced coffee I had enjoyed before.

Vegetable Baked Curry Set (Soup, Salad, Drink) ¥1000-
Egg Sandwich Set (Mini Salad, Drink) ¥800-
When the curry arrived, it was bubbling hot and looked very appetizing. This is the true charm of baked curry, I thought. I took a bite of the piping hot curry - it was rich with plenty of cheese, large chunks of vegetables, and flavorful pilaf-style rice underneath. The combination was excellent, and it was very satisfying. Next, the egg sandwich set arrived. It came with a mini salad and drink on the same plate. The sandwich was much more substantial than it looked on the menu, with a generous amount of boiled egg filling between toasted bread. The eggs were mixed with slightly sweet mayonnaise, and there was so much filling that it was overflowing. It felt like it could be made from about 3 or maybe even 4 eggs. Both dishes were delicious, and if I had come alone, I wouldn't have been able to decide between the egg sandwich and the baked curry. I enjoyed a generous serving of slightly bitter iced coffee after the meal, feeling very satisfied with the lunch. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

In mid-October, during a break from work, I had a cafe time. The cafe is a 10-minute walk from Takanawa Station, and it's also within walking distance from the new Takanawa Gateway Station on the Yamanote Line, but it's quite uphill. Next to it is a popular bakery, so it might be nice to do some shopping on the way back. I had an iced coffee for ¥500, which was the recommended drink at the cafe. It had a strong bitter taste, served in a large glass, and I was able to relax and enjoy it as the place was not crowded. The curry toast is popular during lunchtime, so I would like to try it next time I visit for lunch. Thank you for the meal (^。^)

I visited Carol in Takanawa-dai after a long time. It is located in the Nihon Enoki Shotengai near the Takanawa Fire Station. It used to have a 1000 yen fixed price menu, but now you can also order individual items. I ordered the baked cheese curry. I have tried the authentic version in Moji before, but honestly, I think Carol's version is tastier. Plus, unlike the shop in Moji where you have to wait in line, you don't have to wait at all in Carol. The coffee, salad, and soup that come with the meal are also delicious, making it a great deal. However, recently, they have started to get TV coverage. After being featured on TV, the number of customers has increased. With good reviews on food websites, it might become a popular restaurant. I don't want it to become too well-known, but at the same time, I want to promote this amazing place.

Today, I ordered pasta for the first time. I was looking forward to a nostalgic Napolitan dish here, and as expected, a Napolitan with onions, finely chopped green peppers, and Vienna sausages appeared. The ketchup flavor was slightly stronger than I prefer, but it was a nostalgic Napolitan and delicious. The pasta was also filling, and the delicious food at this restaurant always leaves me satisfied. Thank you for the meal ☆

I came to the restaurant because I wanted to try the sandwich my friend had last time. I ordered the thick egg sandwich because my friend said it was very filling. Even before eating, I could see that there was plenty of egg inside, and I was happy to see that it came with salad and coffee. It was messy to eat because the egg and bread kept falling apart, but they were both delicious and I couldn't stop eating. I was very full by the end. The coffee served after the meal made me feel happy and satisfied. Thank you for the meal! ☆

Visited the restaurant with my colleague after 12 o'clock. It was my first time there, so I ordered the famous baked curry, and my friend ordered the egg sandwich plate. The baked curry came with salad and soup, which were served first. The salad had a variety of ingredients and was very colorful, which made me happy. The egg sandwich plate my friend ordered came with salad and a drink, all served together on a plate. The egg sandwich was thick with plenty of eggs, and the bread was delicious too, according to my friend. They seemed really full in the afternoon (laughs) (I want to try it next time). The baked curry was bubbling when it arrived, with cheese baked around the pot. It was even more delicious when eaten with a spoon, with lots of cheese in it that matched perfectly with the baked curry. It made me feel warm after eating, even though it was cold before (laughs). This is definitely a specialty dish. I want to eat it again on a cold day. Thank you for the meal.

Next to Boulangerie Sei Asakura is a long-established Western-style restaurant that opened in 1971. I decided to try their famous Takinawa-style baked curry after seeing it on the menu. They first served soup and vegetables. The baked curry was very hot, so it may not be suitable if you are in a hurry. I was worried about the portion size, but I managed to finish it without leaving any. The taste was nothing special, not enough to make me want to come back again. I felt satisfied having tried it once. This restaurant allows smoking even during lunchtime, which may be good for smokers but a bit uncomfortable for non-smokers.

I went to an open campus event with my daughter and we decided to grab lunch during the break. We stumbled upon a cafe called "Carol" since we hadn't done any research beforehand. The cafe was small with around 14-16 seats and it seemed popular among regular customers. They offered a variety of lunch options like spaghetti, egg sandwich, and daily specials, but their specialty seemed to be the "baked curry," so I ordered that. The meal started with a salad and soup, both of which were delicious and seemed to be made with fresh ingredients. The atmosphere of the cafe was nostalgic with a retro feel, which I found charming. The baked curry arrived piping hot with a generous amount of cheese on top, making it more like a cheese curry. It was served in a small gratin dish and was quite filling. For drinks, I opted for their recommended iced coffee, which turned out to be really tasty. The ice in the coffee was freshly crushed and added a nice touch. The whole meal, including the baked curry, salad, soup, and coffee, cost 1000 yen. I noticed that the neighboring table of young men had ordered the daily lunch special, which came with a large portion of main dish, two side dishes, salad, pickles, and miso soup. It seemed like a great deal for those with a big appetite. Overall, I thought the cafe could use a bit more cleanliness, but that added to its old-fashioned charm. It was a satisfying meal.
