I finally had the opportunity to visit a restaurant recommended by a follower, K-san, which was the reason I started using Tabelog. The restaurant was located in a place we had never been before, a bit of a walk from Hamamatsucho or Daimon. The interior was average when we entered, but it soon became almost full, and the service improved from one person to two. The owner, perhaps, was very attentive, timing the serving of drinks and dishes perfectly. The food was delicious! Despite being an izakaya, it was a long time since I encountered such wonderful fish dishes. All the fish was fresh produce from the Hokuriku region, delivered directly. - Tuna white roe with ponzu sauce: Delicious! It was my first time trying tuna white roe, and it was different from fugu or pufferfish white roe in terms of flavor and texture. - Sashimi platter: A luxurious five-piece assortment with the origin of each fish specified, which was a nice touch. - Fried dried young sardines with daikon salad: The fish salad was incredibly delicious, with a crispy texture from the dried young sardines. - Black sea bream grilled in alcohol: The chef's special was a fantastic dish with amazing flavor. - Edamame with garlic pepperoncino, egg tofu with yuzu scent: A refreshing dish with a gentle seasoning. - Mackerel and summer duck tempura from Wakasa Obama, sweet long pepper: The tempura was outstanding, with a crispy texture and unique flavor that I couldn't replicate even if I tried. - Steamed red snapper from Iki Island, with hot vegetables and udon as the finishing touch: The red snapper and udon were so delicious that my family fought over them, and the dashi with kelp was so good that my husband and second son drank it all. The restaurant's dishes were at the level of a high-class Japanese restaurant, with a variety of wonderful dishes. Special thanks to Kuidouraku-san for recommending this great restaurant. It's a shame that they haven't been active on Tabelog recently due to being busy.

After several months, I visited Uoshun for the first time with a few members from the Kanto region. It's not just about Hokuriku, but also includes seasonal dishes from Kyoto. The staff informed us that conger eel is in season, but as a Kyoto native, I politely declined. Instead, we ordered the staff's recommended specialty! I'm not sure where the oysters came from, but the oyster fry after a long time was delicious! :)

The atmosphere of the restaurant is calm with an old-fashioned feel, and the staff seem dedicated, but... the staff next to us forgot to bring the ordered sake, the food was slow to arrive, and the bill for 2 beers, 2 highballs, and the dishes shown in the photo came to a total of 9000 yen, which is too expensive. I don't think I'll be going back again.

I have always wanted to try this restaurant. This time, I made a reservation for a business dinner. The course menu is cost-effective, and the sashimi they offer is truly outstanding. I am very satisfied with the experience. It's a great place for a lively gathering with all-you-can-drink options.

Located about a 5-minute walk from Daimon Station, just off the main street, this restaurant seems to be quite popular with already two other groups of customers when we arrived around 5:15 pm on a Saturday. We didn't have a reservation but were able to get a table. We ordered a sashimi platter, tempura, fish kimchi, green tea soba, and Thai grilled dish. The total bill, including two soft drinks, came to just over 8,000 yen, which we found reasonable. The food was excellent, with thick and fresh sashimi, flavorful fish kimchi, well-fried tempura, and refreshing green tea soba. However, the restaurant was a bit cramped, and the service was slow, taking at least 15 minutes for each dish to arrive after ordering.

I made a reservation for a seat on this site and visited the restaurant. It seemed to be a popular place as it was almost fully booked. The first floor is non-smoking, while the second floor is for smoking. Therefore, the second floor was almost like a smoking area. Luckily, I was seated by a window that could be opened, so I could avoid the cigarette smoke. The menu for Japanese sake was very extensive, allowing for tasting comparisons, which was great. The dishes were served quickly, and there were many delicious options to go with the sake. The selection of grilled and simmered fish dishes was wonderful. I would like to take my time and dine on the first floor next time.

It was a nice izakaya with delicious sake and fish. The restaurant had three floors, with the first floor being non-smoking, the second floor smoking, and the third floor for parties. The interior was clean and pleasant. I enjoyed being able to choose three types of sake from the menu for a tasting. The food was carefully prepared and delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Fish lovers will be in heaven here. The seafood menu from Hokuriku is extensive. Even just the grilled fish selection is rare and impressive, with dishes like deep-fried baby shrimp that you can eat whole, and small plates like cheese with seeds. The wide variety of sake is truly remarkable. It seems to be a popular spot for locals to unwind after work, but it would also likely be well-received by foreign residents and travelers. The restaurant has seating on both the first and second floors, with tatami mats and semi-private rooms available for a relaxed dining experience.

The fish is fresh and delicious. It's not very convenient as you have to walk 7-8 minutes south from the Daimon intersection, but it was quite crowded on Friday night. The sashimi platter, grilled fish, and simmered blackthroat seaperch were really delicious. There were still many menu items I wanted to try, so I would like to go back multiple times. There is a wide variety of alcohol choices, which would be irresistible for sake lovers. With that quality at that price, I thought the cost performance was very good.

Seafood izakaya. Visited for lunch around 12:10 pm. Arrived alone but had to wait outside as it was full. Worried about being forgotten and losing my spot to others who arrived later, so I re-entered when a customer left. Seems like they forgot about me... Sat alone at a table for four as there were no counter seats. Thought it would be better to have diagonal seating for solo diners at a four-person table. Ordered the seafood bowl for 1100 yen, which looked delicious. It arrived in about 5 minutes, but the amount of sashimi seemed lacking. The taste was okay, but for 1100 yen, I might not come back again.

I was searching for a restaurant near Hamamatsucho and found this place through a search. It's a bit of a walk from Hamamatsucho but still within walking distance. The restaurant seemed crowded even on weekdays, with many people coming after work. The tables were packed with customers. I think it was around 8 o'clock when I went, and many dishes were already sold out, which was disappointing. I ordered a boiled fish dish, which was delicious. They had a wide selection of sake from Hokuriku. Thank you for the meal♡

I visited for lunch on a regular day. It was 11:50 and about half of the seats on the first floor were taken. I was quickly seated at a table for two. By 12:05, both the first and second floors were full with groups of 4 to 6 people. I ordered the "Sashimi Assortment and Today's Grilled Fish Set" for 950 yen. It was served in about 6 minutes. The grilled fish of the day was "hokke". It was a small but plump half fish, well grilled with good bone separation, making it easy to eat. The sashimi consisted of 3 pieces of tuna and 2 pieces of white fish similar to sea bream. Although the pieces were small, they were delicious, with the white fish having a sweet flavor. Despite the small portions, both the grilled fish and sashimi were tasty. Thank you for the meal.

I had a long-awaited dinner with a junior colleague who is about 20 years younger than me. We went to a restaurant that my colleague had been wanting to visit. We made a reservation for a visit at 7:00 pm on a weekday (Friday), and the restaurant was not very crowded. After toasting with beer, we had sashimi, fried squid, grilled squid, edamame, and various types of sake. Since it had been a while since I last had a meal with my junior colleague, the three hours passed by quickly, and it was already closing time. Honestly, the food didn't leave a strong impression on me, but I was happy to see a decent variety of sake available. It may be more suitable for younger people looking for a party atmosphere. The total bill came to 9,882 yen. Thank you for the meal.

This is a restaurant where you can enjoy fish from the Hokuriku region. The sashimi platter and tempura were both fresh and light, making them easy to eat even though I thought they might be a bit heavy. I forgot the names of the fish, but the longest piece in the tempura had a subtle seasoning and was recommended.

I thought it was a shop in Kyushu, but it was actually in Hokuriku. Still, it was interesting. The soy sauce-marinated edamame was a big hit! The sashimi was a bit loose. Well, sashimi needs a not too sweet soy sauce, right? That's understandable. I didn't take any photos, but I tried the seasonal tempura. They serve alcohol in proper drinking glasses here, so the quality is really high like a real izakaya. You know, when they bring you a bottled beer in a small glass that's pure white, with a cool, dry texture when you touch it, and just the right amount of foam when poured! Thank you for the meal♪

I went a little south of the business district in Hamamatsucho and had lunch at an izakaya. I chose a set meal with fried chicken and grilled fish, which was mainly fish-focused. The grilled fish of the day was saury, and the set came with two pieces of fried chicken for 950 yen. The portion was generous, and the fact that you could have unlimited refills of rice and miso soup was a great service.

This is a fish and seafood izakaya that mainly focuses on fish from the Hokuriku region. The lunch menu also revolves around fish dishes, attracting many office workers from the area. You can dine on both the first and second floors. The second floor has table seating arranged in an L-shape around the windows, with a raised platform in the center featuring traditional sunken kotatsu-style tables. I tried the seafood bowl, but the sashimi portion was disappointingly thin and lacked in quantity. The taste was decent, featuring fresh Hokuriku fish, but the slices were too thin and not stacked high enough. It was an average seafood bowl, so I was a bit let down. I don't think I'll be revisiting this place. If this is their recommended specialty dish, I don't have high hopes for the rest of the menu. The fact that they offer free rice and miso soup refills attracted a male office worker clientele during my visit.

It's been a while since my last visit. This time, I came for lunch. The restaurant was busy and full of customers. There were various lunch menus available, but I decided to order the daily special set meal. It came with bonito sashimi and chicken karaage. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

This restaurant is located just before Mel Park Tokyo, right after crossing the first Keihin expressway from Hamamatsucho towards Shiba Koen. Although it is called the Hamamatsucho branch, the main branch is actually in Shinyoshiwara, which I visited about 2 years ago. They specialize in natural fish from the Hokuriku region and Japanese sake. I ordered a sashimi platter and grilled fish. The prices were reasonable, and the taste was decent, but some of the fish seemed a bit thawed. Given the current circumstances, I understand that maintaining freshness is difficult, but I hope they continue to strive for improvement. Thank you for the meal.

I visited this restaurant with a former colleague for a New Year's gathering, recommended by a friend. I was worried that they might not have fresh fish after the New Year, but I was able to enjoy delicious sashimi. It's a bit pricey, but it's worth it for the tasty food. I will definitely visit again.

This is an izakaya recommended by a senior on Tabelog who said, "It's really good!" The restaurant specializes in local fish from Hokuriku, but it originally started as a fish market, which is a somewhat unusual background for a restaurant. Upon further research, I found out that aside from the main store in Gotanda, there are also affiliated stores in Yokohama and other locations. Our visit to the restaurant, "Uoshun Hamamatsucho," was motivated by a desire to learn more about its unique qualities, as the Tabelog ranking as of R1.12 is currently 3.39 stars, indicating a moderate rating. When a fellow foodie, Mr. Ajikko, mentioned that he would be visiting Tokyo from Kyushu and suggested meeting up for drinks near Shinagawa, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to enjoy a night of drinking together. The visit took place on a weekday evening at 8 pm. We were led to the second floor with many private booths, where we were greeted by a friendly staff member. Mr. Yakitate!! Japan arrived shortly after, apologizing for the delay in check-in. He was a calm and pleasant gentleman with a warm smile, and we quickly struck up a friendly conversation. We started the evening with a toast of beer at Uoshun, and the staff recommended Hokuriku sake to complement our meal. The restaurant offers a variety of sake from Toyama, Ishikawa, and Fukui, and although the prices may seem high at first glance, the quality and presentation of each serving make it worth the cost. The sashimi was fresh and delicious, and the lunch sashimi set, priced at 1200 yen (tax included), was a great value. Personally, I found the Heshiko-stuffed mochi Isoyaki to be particularly interesting. Heshiko is a traditional dish from Hokuriku made by salting and fermenting fish like sardines, and the combination with mochi was surprisingly tasty. It paired well with cold sake and left a satisfying taste in the mouth. During the meal, we also had interesting discussions with other foodies, including Shokugeki no Soma, about various topics beyond just Tabelog reviews. Overall, the experience at Uoshun made me realize the importance of authentic reviews from real customers, and the value of honest feedback in the world of restaurant reviews.
