Located near the stream at the east exit of Shibuya Station, there was a long line of foreign tourists on a weekday. After waiting for 40-50 minutes, I finally got a seat. The pork cutlet was thin and easy to eat, with a juicy flavor when cooked properly. It was great that you could enjoy it with various condiments. Although it was a bit pricey, it was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

I wanted to try the popular Gyukatsu Motomura for lunch. I ordered the Gyukatsu set with one piece of meat. You can cook the gyukatsu yourself to your liking. The hot gyukatsu was very delicious. However, some people may not like it because the meat is a bit fatty. Even one piece is 130g, and it comes with rice, miso soup, potato salad, and cabbage, so it's quite filling. When I arrived at 11:00, there were already over 20 people waiting outside. I waited for about an hour and a half before being able to enter.

I visited this restaurant for the first time. It was around 7 pm on a weekday and there were 8 groups ahead of me in line. The restaurant was small, so I had to wait for about an hour. The beef cutlet was delicious, but it was too greasy for me and I struggled to finish it. The space was so cramped that my shoulder touched the person next to me, and strangely, all the customers were Korean. I didn't feel very comfortable there, so I quickly left. I probably won't come back again.

There has been a line since an hour before opening! Mostly foreign tourists enter and order right away, with each cutlet being carefully fried. It's delicious when eaten with wasabi soy sauce, and the generous amount of fat makes the cabbage side appreciated. I used to finish it all easily when I was a student.

The 130g beef cutlet set meal (1630 yen) with an additional side of grated yam for 100 yen is still delicious. I have been to several beef cutlet restaurants, and it seems like the standard is becoming to let customers adjust the cooking level themselves. However, with the recent rise in prices, I can't help but feel that dining out has really become more expensive. I remember that grated yam used to come as a default side dish, but now it's an extra charge (sigh). Also, the slow turnover at the Shibuya branch is quite noticeable. The restaurant was full within about 5 minutes of opening, and even though I was the first in line to wait, I didn't get seated until 40 minutes later. Of course, the speed at which customers eat also plays a role, but I wouldn't recommend using this restaurant when you're in a hurry.

I visited Motomura in Shibuya for a late lunch. I've always been curious about this place, but it's always crowded. I arrived around 2:30 PM and there was still a line, with a 45-minute wait. Despite the boom being over, it's still very popular. Most of the people in line were foreigners, showing the owner's desire to introduce Japanese culture through their beef cutlets. The meal is a rare beef cutlet that you finish cooking yourself. As a fan of rare meat, I loved it. I also had grated yam, pickles, miso soup, and added mentaiko for an extra 100 yen, which was also delicious. I would definitely go back if there wasn't a line. I also want to try their other locations.

It's a self-grill style restaurant. The fire may go out after a while, so it's something to watch out for. There were many foreign customers as well. The restaurant is located underground, but it was crowded with many customers. (Visited around 6:00 PM on Tuesday)

After going to the improved hot spring, I visited Shibuya for the first time in a while. This area has changed quite a bit, I was surprised to see the famous ramen shop Ninkitoriken here! It's really delicious, even though the beef cutlet boom is long gone, there is still a huge line. I was shocked to find out that they only have 9 counter seats! It's more popular than some high-end sushi restaurants. The wait was about an hour, but the beef cutlet was as delicious as ever. The Motomura pork cutlet is always tasty. I tried the beef tongue cutlet for the first time, and it was crispy and delicious. It's really good with lemon juice and salt, but I can't handle waiting for so long. I'll avoid Shibuya next time I go.

This shop, which seems to have been a boom at some point, was visited before 8 pm on a weekday, but there was a wait for 3 groups. I decided to line up and waited for 25 minutes before finally getting in. The shop is narrow with only 9 counter seats, and it is underground, so it feels a bit cramped. I ordered the most basic menu item, the "Beef Cutlet with Barley Rice and Grated Yam Set Meal for 1400 yen including tax". The set meal arrived in about 10 minutes. There was a hot stone plate in front of me, and the beef cutlet meat was rare, so I was instructed to cook both sides here while eating. It was like eating yakiniku and quite delicious because it was freshly cooked. However, considering the taste, I couldn't help but think that if it's going to be cooked, it doesn't necessarily have to be a cutlet. You can eat it while adding wasabi, rock salt, soy sauce, and sesame sauce-like sauce in your preference, but I found that "putting wasabi and soy sauce" was the most delicious. Interestingly, half of the customers seemed to be Korean. There were also menus in Korean, so perhaps it's popular on social media or something? Thank you for the meal.

Beef cutlet with barley rice and grated yam set meal for ¥1,400. The restaurant is quite small, so I had to wait a bit. But once I sat down, the food came out quickly. It's nice that you can eat it with your preferred level of doneness and seasoning. It was my first time trying beef cutlet, and it was delicious.

Um, I tried it. Sorry. Really. It was delicious, right? Motomura-san. It seems like a style where you cook it yourself. The wheat rice was also delicious. But, I think it's a bit expensive, but the meat seemed good, so I thought it was worth it.

I go down the stairs a little off from Meiji Street and enter a narrow shop where customers keep coming in. I've been to other shops like this before, so I know the drill. The beef bowl is served rare, which is the best way to eat it. You eat it while it's still slightly seared on the surface. I like to dip it in soy sauce and wasabi. You can get one extra serving of rice, cabbage, or miso soup. I chose cabbage. It's just so delicious. Thank you for the meal.

When it first opened in Shibuya, the restaurant Gyukatsu Motomura was very popular, with long lines forming. However, many reviews said "It may not be worth waiting in line for so long." Despite this, I heard that the hype has died down and decided to visit. I went on a weekday around 2 o'clock and there were only 3 groups waiting. Even though the boom has passed, there are still some people waiting in line, which is impressive. The staff takes your order while you wait, so it's not too stressful. The restaurant's goal is to make Gyukatsu a part of Japanese food culture and they offer a Gyukatsu and Tongkatsu set for 2600 yen. The Gyukatsu, cooked medium rare and seared on a hot plate, is delicious. It has a crispy texture from being fried and can be enjoyed with wasabi soy sauce, sauce, salt, grated yam, or lemon vinegar for flavor variations. The Tongkatsu, on the other hand, loses some of its flavor when fried. Overall, the Gyukatsu is delicious and worth trying, especially with the current shorter wait times.

【Nearest station】5-minute walk from Shibuya Station 【Visit time】Friday, around 9:00 PM 【Purpose】Dinner 【Regular holiday】Irregular holidays 【Reservation】Not required 【Waiting time (outside the store)】None 【Number of users】2 people 【Budget】1,000-2,000 yen 【Payment method】Credit card and electronic money accepted 【Order content】Half-size beef cutlet & beef tongue cutlet with barley rice and grated yam set meal for 2,000 yen 【Overview】"Gyukatsu Moto Mura" is a restaurant that operates with a strong passion for "adding beef cutlets to Japanese food culture." The medium-rare fried beef cutlet is seared on a hot stone and eaten with wasabi soy sauce, creating a delicious dish. A few years ago, when it first opened, there were long lines and it was difficult to find a seat, but now it has calmed down a bit and you can enter without waiting. The teppen boom may have passed, but it's still delicious. If you work in Shibuya, be sure to visit! (There are also many stores in other major areas such as Shinjuku and Ikebukuro) 【Review】 I ordered the half-size beef cutlet & beef tongue cutlet with barley rice and grated yam set meal for 2,000 yen after considering the "beef cutlet barley rice and grated yam set meal (2 pieces, 260g) for 2,200 yen." There is also a "beef cutlet barley rice and grated yam set meal (1 piece, 130g) for 1,400 yen," but according to a regular customer, the "2 pieces, 260g" option provides a higher level of satisfaction in terms of quantity! When it came time to eat, the unique feature was being able to grill and eat it on a hot stone. You can lightly sear it or cook it well. The cutlets are cut into bite-sized pieces, allowing you to try various ways of eating them. The dipping sauces include "wasabi soy sauce, special mountain wasabi sauce, rock salt," and more. Personally, I really liked the "special mountain wasabi sauce" and ended up consuming 80% of it with that. The menu I ordered this time allows you to enjoy it without getting tired of it as you can try different sauces with the "beef cutlet & beef tongue cutlet." I highly recommend it! Thank you for the meal!

I visited yesterday in the evening. I had the usual beef cutlet set for 1400 yen! By registering for LINE for the first time, I got a free meal of rice, miso soup, and cabbage. The beef cutlet here is definitely different in tenderness! I have also been to the shop in Miyamasuzaka, where there were only 2 staff members working. They didn't talk much, which I found good. I will visit again. Thank you for the meal, I am grateful.

The temperature had risen quite a bit, and the sun was shining so strongly that it didn't feel like May. However, the low humidity prevented any unpleasant stickiness. While wandering around Shibuya towards Daikanyama, I stumbled upon a restaurant and decided to go in. I had been seeing signs for beef cutlets in various places recently and had been wanting to try it, so it seemed like a good opportunity. What I ordered: Beef cutlet with barley rice and grated yam set meal (two pieces) for 2200 yen. The half-cooked meat was coated in breadcrumbs and served. It seemed that I had to cook it myself on the hot plate in front of me. The sizzling sound and the savory smell of the meat stimulated my appetite. I tried dipping it in soy sauce at first. The tender beef flavor and the sweet, flavorful coating spread in my mouth. To be honest, the meat alone tasted much better. I realized why beef cutlets hadn't been popular for a long time after taking a bite. This way of eating seemed to diminish the deliciousness of the beef. With pork cutlets, the coating plays a role in sealing in the juicy flavor of the meat during the cooking process, but with beef cutlets, it's not necessary. So, there's no need to coat it in breadcrumbs and fry it. It felt like I would have been better off having yakiniku instead.

"Gyukatsu Moto Mura Shibuya Store is a popular restaurant chain with about 20 locations in Kanto, Osaka, Fukuoka, and Taiwan, focusing on serving gyukatsu (beef cutlet) as part of Japanese food culture. I was recommended this place by a friend and tried the Gyukatsu & Gyutan Katsu (half) set with barley rice and grated yam. One of the unique features of this restaurant is that you can adjust the cooking level of your gyukatsu on a hot stone plate, and enjoy it with various dipping sauces like wasabi soy sauce, special mountain wasabi sauce, and rock salt. They also offer free refills of barley rice, so you can fully enjoy the grated yam. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience at Gyukatsu Moto Mura Shibuya Store."

It was quite luxurious to watch the beef cutlet being grilled on a hot stone plate. You can change the taste with various sauces like soy sauce, miso-based sauce, salt, and wasabi, so it was delicious. The meat itself was tasty and the portion was satisfying! You could also get a refill of rice, which was nice. I definitely want to go again!

I went to a restaurant called Gyukatsu Motomura to eat medium rare fried beef cutlet that you can cook on a hot stone to your liking! The restaurant is located a 6-minute walk from Shibuya Station. They only have counter seats, with prices ranging from 1,000 yen. The menu includes a set meal of beef cutlet and beef tongue cutlet. The restaurant has a rating of 3.52 on Tabelog. Here are some reasons why I recommend this place: 1. You can adjust the cooking level on the hot stone in front of you. 2. They offer a variety of special sauces like wasabi, olive oil, rock salt, etc., so you won't get bored. 3. They serve grated yam which tastes great when poured over rice. 4. You can get unlimited refills of rice, miso soup, and cabbage. I had a luxurious and delicious meal here, it was amazing! I can't wait to go back again!

Sweet and juicy. The crispy texture is addictive! The coating is crispy with a fragrant oiliness, and the inside is semi-rare with the umami of beef, making it delicious to eat as it is. For those who like medium rare, it's also delicious to cook the sides thoroughly and eat. It goes well with wasabi soy sauce or rock salt, and my favorite is the special mountain wasabi sauce. #Shibuya #Gyukatsu #Gyukatsu Motomura #Beef tongue #Lunch #Kanto gourmet #Want to connect with gourmet lovers #Tokyo lunch #Rice #Gourmet club #Want to connect with food lovers #Recommended #Gourmet Instagram #Food porn #Food porn #Eating out diary #Foodstagram #Delistagram #Gourmet girls #Delicious food is justice #Bon appétit #foodstagram #instafood #japanesefood
