The other day, when I went to work on my day off, I decided to stop by this seafood bowl restaurant for lunch. "Kaisendonburi Ginhachi Ginza Store". It's about a 2-minute walk from Ginza-itchome Station. It should take about 3-4 minutes from Ginza Station to get there. It's located near the Tiffany Ginza Main Store Bridal Boutique. A seafood bowl restaurant across from the Tiffany Bridal Boutique... This place has two locations in Tokyo. One is in front of the University of Tokyo's Akamon, called "Kaisendonburi Ginhachi University of Tokyo Akamon Store". And the other one is here in Ginza. The menu has quite a variety, with many options to choose from. The popular choices seem to be the "Mountain Bowl" and the daily special menu (written on the blackboard, a set of "daily special bowl," "choice of miso soup," and "side dish"). Extra rice is +80 yen. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, extra rice is free. The bowls are quite affordable, with many options under 1000 yen. Of course, there is also a premium seafood bowl priced at 2800 yen. I was torn between choices, but I decided to go with the Special Ginhachi Bowl for 1080 yen (tax included). This is a typical seafood bowl, not the most expensive one, but a standard grade. It had head-on shrimp, tuna, sea bream, conger eel, octopus, salmon, squid, fatty tuna, as well as seaweed and cucumber. Wasabi was also included. Considering the price, it felt like there was quite a variety of seafood included. The toppings were not thickly sliced, but you could taste a variety of flavors. Miso soup was also included. The system is when you enter the restaurant, the staff will guide you to an available seat. The counter seats are arranged in a U-shape. The restaurant has a simple atmosphere, more like a casual dining chain rather than a fancy place. You order first and pay afterwards in cash. Cards are not accepted, which is a bit inconvenient. There didn't seem to be any coat hangers, but there were luggage shelves. Recently, it seems that the partitions for COVID-19 measures have been removed. The customers were mostly foreigners, perhaps because it was a holiday, with a lot of Asian tourists, maybe from China or Korea. Thank you for the meal. It's a seafood bowl restaurant in Ginza with reasonable prices. It lacks a sense of luxury, but it could be a good option for office workers around here for lunch. If you're interested, give it a try.
