Higashimurayama City, Gonokami's supermarket Seiyu, on the 1st floor food sales floor. This time, it's a beer and food review again. However, this time it's a slightly different style of beer. The most unique beer recently introduced at Seiyu is probably this Amarcord series(?). By the way, I feel like Italian beers prefer slender bottles like this. This time, I purchased Amarcord Amabionda ¥150 + tax, Amarcord Amamora ¥150 + tax, Swiss Selection Premium Chocolate Milk Chocolate Gianduja ¥158 + tax. Amarcord Amabionda... Malt, orange honey, sugar, hops. 6%. 355ml bottle. Beer (malt usage rate of 50% or more). Orange-yellow. Slightly cloudy. Citrus scent. Orange, fruit. Sweet scent like honey and rock sugar. The sweetness is not as strong as the impression from the scent. There is a little acidity. The bitterness is sharp, thin, and strong. I feel some astringency. Is it an aperitif or a digestif? What would it go well with? Perhaps dessert? Amarcord Amamora... Malt, sugar, coffee, hops. 9%. 355ml bottle. Beer (malt usage rate of 50% or more). Dark black to dark brown without light passing through. Coffee, milk coffee, burnt fragrant scent. Herbal and spicy scent. Also a sweet scent. There is bitterness but it disappears quickly. There is also sweetness, but not overly sweet. No acidity and almost no astringency. Surprisingly light body. It would be better as a digestif than an aperitif, and if paired with something, it would be dessert. Chocolate or chocolate cake seems good. Ice cream too! Swiss Selection Premium Chocolate Milk Chocolate Gianduja... It's thick and has a strong sweetness. A taste I like. I tried it with the beer above! It goes well with bitter and rich beers. Also with coffee-based and bitter chocolate-based beers. Of course, even with spirits! Considering the variety, you can also pair beer with sweets. Thank you for the meal.
