I watched a bit of the samba carnival and my ears started to hurt from the heat, so I decided to leave and look for lunch. I thought it would be crowded, but when I arrived, I saw that there were seats available. I looked at the menu at the counter and noticed that there were not many options for lunch sets. I decided to go with a similar choice to the person next to me. Today's soup was a cold corn soup, served with bread, apple and onion grated sauce, and a hamburger patty. I chose not to have the demi-glace sauce. The corn soup was incredibly delicious, the best I've ever had. The bread and butter were also very tasty. As for the hamburger patty with grated sauce, it was really good. I think it's even better than with demi-glace sauce, although I've never tried it here. The total came out to over 3000 yen for three items, but I would be happy to pay that for this set. The meat was finely ground, but I found it more delicious than coarse ground. It's true that good food comes at a price!

I visited for a late lunch. I was seated at the counter on the first floor. I ordered the hamburger steak with demi-glace sauce. It came with soup. I also ordered the dessert coffee set. I could see the food being prepared in front of me at the counter! The cutlery was a bit hot (lol). First, I was served corn soup, which was light and cold. By the time I finished the soup, the hamburger steak arrived. The demi-glace sauce had a mature flavor and was delicious. The hamburger was a bit dry (lol). The potato side dish with cheese was tasty. The cheesecake dessert was extremely rich and the most delicious part (lol). The lunch was a bit pricey, over 3000 yen! There were photos of Naniwa Danshi (a Japanese idol group) on the wall!

★4.2 [FILE 4174] 2023/07/25 (Tuesday) 11:37 Visited a Western-style restaurant that opened in 1982 on the 1st and 2nd floors of a building along Denboin Street in Asakusa. [Current Edition] Since May 2023, there have been new posts, with one less store, leaving a total of 20 stores. The interior of the restaurant has a calm atmosphere with a color scheme of red, white, and wood grain. There are 8 counter seats on the 1st floor and 14 table seats on the 2nd floor, totaling 22 seats, making it cozy. When I visited, there were 2 groups of 3 customers already seated. After that, no new customers arrived, so it was very empty. The customer base is 70% male and 30% female. The service is handled efficiently by 2 male staff members. The menu includes: ・Hamburg Steak with Demi-Glace Sauce 2500 yen (tax included) ・Chef's Specialty Steamed Chicken with Mustard Seeds 2500 yen (tax included) ・Beef Stew with Madeira Sauce 3420 yen (tax included) ・Special Beef Steak 4000 yen (tax included) ・Black Wagyu Beef Steak Bowl with Special Sauce 3500 yen (tax included) ・Rich Foie Gras Bowl 3000 yen (tax included) ・Black Wagyu Beef Curry 2980 yen (tax included) ・Chicken Curry Lunch 1500 yen (tax included) ・Traditional Hayashi Rice 2090 yen (tax included) ・Daily Pasta 1740 yen (tax included) ・Daily Salad Bowl 1650 yen (tax included) All items come with soup, and depending on the menu, bread or rice is included. I ordered the Special Beef Steak for 4000 yen. The contents were: ・Corn Potage ・Special Beef Steak ・Bread, Butter The serving time was approximately 16 minutes: 11:37 Order, 11:40 3 minutes later Soup, 11:47 10 minutes later Main, 11:53 16 minutes later Bread, Butter. The corn potage soup was delicious. The main dish, Special Beef Steak, was served on a large white plate with potato gratin, red cabbage, and lettuce on the side, and the steak sliced into 5 pieces and garnished with ginger and mustard seeds. Although the amount of meat for 4000 yen was disappointing, the quality was good, juicy, and very tasty due to its rare cooking. The bread was two slices of French bread with butter. The restaurant has a calm atmosphere with a color scheme of red, white, and wood grain. Payment is cash only. The Special Beef Steak for 4000 yen includes soup, Special Beef Steak, and bread. Despite the small portion for the price, the quality of the meat is good, making it delicious.

I learned about Omiya Restaurant from the TV show The Nonfiction and decided to visit while in Asakusa. I ordered the Hamburg steak with demi-glace sauce and rice. The taste was a bit difficult for a novice like me. The Hamburg steak was a little tough and not that great, and the demi-glace sauce was bitter and lacked depth of flavor. It would have been nice to have some vegetables as well, not just potatoes. As a traditional Western-style restaurant, I don't usually go to places like this, so I didn't quite understand the appeal of this taste.

I visited in the early afternoon. It was crowded as expected. Had to wait for about 2 groups ahead of me. There are seats on the 1st and 2nd floors. The 1st floor has a counter and the 2nd floor has tables. I ordered the hamburger. It had a mushroom sauce on top. The hamburger was big and satisfying. It had plenty of mushrooms and a good flavor. Thank you for the meal ⭐︎

Chef Omiya's famous restaurant that I wanted to try... I visited to see what kind of Western-style restaurant it was. Summary: 1) The hamburger, limited to 10 servings, was so delicious that I ended up eating 3 servings myself... 2) The beef stroganoff was rich and tasty, with a generous portion of beef steak. 3) The garlic sautéed clams and mushrooms had a similar base to the beef stroganoff. 4) The pate de campagne was delicious, but the two slices of bread were a bit lacking. 5) The cold corn potage soup had a bit too much cream. 6) The salad was okay, with a moderate amount of salt. The rice was delicious. I slightly regret not ordering the steak. The hamburger was like a patty without any fillers... It reminded me of the 100% wagyu hamburger from "Arakuji" in Numazu in the past (I remember it was 2,900 yen, but it seems to have closed down...). However, most of the dishes were delicious, so it's a thumbs up. I didn't feel a sense of cleanliness in the restaurant, so I hope they improve on that (the plates were dirty too). Thank you for the meal.

A famous Western-style restaurant in Asakusa, often compared to Yoshikami. I arrived on a Saturday night during the Sanja Matsuri festival at 7 pm, expecting a long line, but surprisingly got seated right away. I was torn between ordering stew, steak, or hamburger, but decided to go with the classic and ordered the Demi-Glace sauce hamburger, which is a must-try. The hamburger set costs 2,700 yen (tax included) and comes with a choice of soup or salad and rice or bread. The clam chowder soup was delicious with plenty of ingredients. The hamburger was not overly juicy but had a good texture, and paired well with the rich Demi-Glace sauce. The potato cheese gratin on the side was crispy and flavorful. It was a great way to enjoy Asakusa during the Sanja Matsuri festival and experience the post-COVID atmosphere.

In the midst of the Golden Week rush, a friend came to visit and suggested going to Hanayashiki in Asakusa. However, upon seeing the long line, we quickly gave up and decided to look for a place nearby where we could have a Western-style lunch. After some research, we found a place and ended up there. I ordered the Hamburg Steak with demi-glace sauce for ¥1950 (tax included), while my friend chose the one with grated apple. The Hamburg Steak was large and flat, with a rough texture that became apparent when cutting into it. It seemed like the minced meat was lightly mixed and cooked. Although the demi-glace sauce looked plentiful on top, it was absorbed quickly when mixed with the steak, so I wished there was a bit more. Additionally, the cheese potato side dish was very delicious and could even stand alone as a separate dish. The downside was the rice we ordered separately, which was too soft and mushy. The portion was also small, so some people might find it insufficient. It would be better if they offered a set with a small portion of salad or soup as well.

On a weekday during Golden Week, my company decided to make it a day off. My wife mentioned that she wanted to visit Asakusa, so we headed there. Despite being someone who dislikes crowds, the thought of "Asakusa during Golden Week" made me feel like a moth drawn to a flame. We decided to avoid the crowded Nakamise Street and lined up at the popular restaurant called Omiya, which even showed up in Yahoo search suggestions. We joined the line with 15 people already ahead of us, and the wait from there was 1 to 2 hours. Luckily, we made it in time before the long wait. The restaurant has been featured on the TV show "The Nonfiction" on Sunday afternoons, providing plenty of interesting stories. We saw a foreign girl at Shin Marunouchi Building. It seems that even on weekdays during Golden Week, you can't make lunch reservations. We managed to get a seat on the first round. I ordered the steak bowl and beef stew instead of the hamburger. Unfortunately, the foie gras bowl that I wanted was still unavailable. The steak bowl was delicious with tender Japanese black beef and a sauce that matched the Japanese palate. The beef stew with Madeira sauce was rich and flavorful with wine. The cheesy baked mashed potatoes on the side were also to my liking. However, my wife felt that the sauce was a bit blurred in taste and wished for a clearer flavor. Delicious food is one thing, but personal preference comes into play after that. We finished our meal in 30 minutes, and the bill came to 7000 yen. It's a renowned restaurant that you should visit at least once, and once is probably enough. We crossed Sumida River Walk to visit the aquarium at Solamachi. We didn't bother paying extra to go up to the observation deck. The local Funabori Tower is sufficient for us. Despite there being no shows, the aquarium entrance fee was 2500 yen, making me wonder if everything is getting more expensive.

I tried to make a reservation at a popular old Western-style restaurant in Asakusa, but they do not serve lunch. I visited around 1:30 pm and was able to get in right away. I had the mushroom sauce hamburger steak! The meaty hamburger steak and sauce matched perfectly and were delicious. The staff were friendly and I would like to visit again.

Asakusa Nakamise Street, towards Senso-ji Temple, on the second street to the right, there is a Western-style restaurant called Omiya, which is owned by the famous chef Katsuo Omiya, known from TV shows. I made a reservation because I really wanted to try Chef Omiya's dishes again after a long time. I was seated on the second floor by the window, just like last time. It was a luxurious time to enjoy a meal while looking out at the streets of Asakusa. Today, I had oysters and mushrooms in butter parsley sauce, beef stroganoff steak, salad, and dessert. When it comes to Western-style restaurants, this is where I come. I would like to try the curry next time. Thank you, Chef Omiya.

The hamburger steak and steamed chicken with grainy mustard sauce that I ordered were delicious. The clam chowder served first was exquisite and I finished it quickly. The salad was okay. The hamburger steak was decent, and the potato side dish was tasty. I enjoyed it very much.

I arrived at the restaurant at 1:00 PM and found that the second floor was full, so I was barely able to get a seat at the counter on the first floor where the capacity was 7 people. It seemed like the operation was at full capacity with 4 people seated, including myself. The chef and two assistants were working in the kitchen, while one person was in charge of the dining area. It felt like they were not maximizing their capacity, maybe doing only two rounds of service. Water was not served, and there was no communication about taking orders, so I was considering leaving. Finally, at 1:10 PM, the server came to take my order. I ordered the hamburger steak with demi-glace sauce, soup, and rice. The soup, minestrone, was tasty but nothing special. The timing for clearing the dishes was quick. The hamburger steak arrived at 1:21 PM, but the demi-glace sauce had a strong taste of acidity, which bothered me throughout the meal. The hamburger steak itself was dry and lacked flavor. I may have had high expectations due to the restaurant being a long-established Western-style eatery, but I found the overall experience and the quality of the food did not justify the price of 2500 yen. I will not be returning. Thank you for the meal.

After a long time, I had lunch in Asakusa. The popular Chinese restaurant I wanted to go to had a long line, so I gave up and went to this place instead. There was only one group of customers ahead of me, so I lined up behind them. It was surprising to see rickshaws coming down the narrow street, with the drivers recommending this restaurant to their passengers, saying it's a well-known Western-style restaurant in Asakusa that has been on TV many times. After about 20 minutes, we were seated. I originally wanted to have chicken rice at a Chinese restaurant, but they didn't have it here, so I ordered the "Steamed Chicken with Mustard Sauce" on bread and the "Hamburger with Demi-Glace Sauce" on rice. The glasses even had the logo of this long-standing restaurant, showing their pride. The food was served promptly. The chicken was easy to eat, with plenty of flavorful mustard sauce. The accompanying potatoes were quite generous and the cheese was melted nicely. The hamburger had a tangy demi-glace sauce and a coarse ground meat texture. The only thing that bothered me was when they brought the plate with the baguette, the butter knife was sticking out towards me. The portion of meat was good, but my partner's rice portion seemed a bit more refined. We were seated on the second floor, which was not very spacious but quiet, allowing us to enjoy our meal leisurely. Thank you for the delicious meal!

When it comes to Western food in Asakusa, places like Yoshikami Asakusa and Paichina come to mind, and this place is one of them. I remember taking my mother here a long time ago. Now it has become so popular that there's always a line. We were seated at a small table on the second floor. The lunch menu is limited. I had the hamburger with demi-glace sauce, while my friend had the chicken with mustard cream sauce. The demi-glace sauce for the hamburger was quite tangy, not exactly to my liking, but the hamburger itself was very delicious. I think I preferred the creamy chicken with mustard sauce. The side dishes were traditional and had a nostalgic feel to them. The prices are a bit high, but enjoying this classic taste seems very Asakusa-like to me.

In the fiercely competitive area of Asakusa, known for its long-established Western-style restaurants, there is a popular restaurant called Restaurant Omiya. Lunch reservations are not accepted. Around the time when the crowds from the New Year's visit to Sensoji Temple start to thin out, on a Sunday for lunch, if you head there just before opening, you'll find a line of about 10 people. The first floor has only counter seats. There are also seats on the second floor, and in the bustling kitchen, the chef continues to skillfully prepare orders in front of your eyes. It's a lively atmosphere at the counter seats. Although it's a Western-style restaurant, you'll see some people ordering beer or wine with their lunch, enjoying appetizers while waiting for their main dish. It's a happy Sunday afternoon. I ordered the recommended steamed chicken with mustard sauce and beef stew. The chicken breast was cooked to a moist perfection and was absolutely delicious. The sauce and side dishes were also tasty, showcasing the chef's skill. The beef stew was quite rich with a strong, dark demi-glace sauce. Just one bite of this sauce is packed with flavor that could easily go with a bowl of rice. It's delicious. Lunch on weekends can be crowded, but it's worth the wait. Next time, I'll try the hamburger!

On a holiday for lunch, I visited around 1 pm and waited for about 5 minutes. I ordered Minestrone, Hamburg with Demi-glace sauce, and Chicken sauté. First of all, the Minestrone was very delicious!! I thought that it wouldn't taste like this if I made it normally, so I could tell it was a long-established Western-style restaurant. If the soup of the day is Minestrone, I highly recommend trying it! I was torn between sauces for the Hamburg, but I started with the classic Demi-glace. The Hamburg here is characterized by its meaty texture and has a satisfying bite! It was so delicious that I want to try another sauce next time. The Chicken sauté was also surprisingly moist for breast meat, and the sauce was delicious too. I felt that this was a restaurant with a high level of Western cuisine!

First visit. Ordered hamburger steak (with demi-glace sauce) and rice. Omiya-san took our order directly. Wanted corn soup but today's soup was minestrone, so changed to onion gratin soup. Waited at the counter watching the chef's work for 5 minutes. Onion gratin soup arrived. Rich and delicious. The hamburger steak was thinner than expected, but the taste was fine. Personally, I prefer a thicker hamburger steak. Also tried a bit of beef stew, which tasted as expected. The onion gratin soup was the best, maybe even better than the rest. But overall, it was a memorable experience.
