Located in the basement of a building at the entrance of Miyamasuzaka, this soba restaurant has been around for a long time. It must be tough for a soba restaurant to survive in a young people's town, but when you actually use it, it's easy to see that there is demand. The interior of the restaurant has a calm atmosphere, and even though it is in Shibuya, it lacks the typical Shibuya vibe in a good way. It's not overly luxurious, but it maintains a sense of being for the masses. Unique. I would like to make it my regular spot.

Duck soba cold, with a side of fried smelt and a glass of water. It makes you want to drink in the middle of the day, right? The soba noodles are flat and firm, with a slightly weak aroma. I think of soba as having a good throat feel. For lunch, they offer various rice bowl sets. You can get extra rice for free, and extra soba for an additional 150 yen. The portion size for the rice bowl was decent. If you just want to eat soba, it might be better to get the large size. The balance between cost and taste was good. If you're looking for a place to have proper soba, this might not be the best choice for you.

After finishing a business dinner at a bistro in Daikanyama, I headed towards Shibuya Station with an acquaintance. Feeling like I hadn't quite had my fill of drinks, we decided to stop by a soba restaurant called "Maki Soba Shibuya Branch" that we happened to come across. The restaurant is located on the basement floor of a building just a short walk from the east exit of Shibuya Station, on Miyamasuzaka off Meiji Street. "Maki Soba" has multiple branches in places like Asagaya, Nakano, Roppongi, and Mitaka besides this one. It was my first time visiting, and the interior had a slightly folk art style, more reminiscent of an izakaya than a soba restaurant. We arrived around 10:30 pm, and about 70% of the seats were occupied. This time, we started off with sake. The menu offered a variety of options including 10 types of honjozo, 5 types of warm sake, 5 types of junmai ginjo, and around 10 types of junmai daiginjo. We tried the "Kuro Ryu Junmai Ginjo" and the "Dewazakura Junmai Ginjo." We ordered the following dishes: - Octopus with vinegar - Fried chicken thighs - Beef tendon stew - Potato salad The octopus dish was fresh and quite delicious, while the fried chicken thighs were marinated in a garlic-infused sauce that complemented the alcohol well. The beef tendon stew was average, but I wish it had more beef tendon in it. The potato salad seemed homemade, with the potatoes roughly mashed. Although these dishes may not be unique to this restaurant, they met the standard for an izakaya. It's a convenient place for a casual drink. We ended up ordering too many side dishes and didn't get to try the soba, which was a bit disappointing. The bill came to around 6,000 yen for two people. Thank you for the meal!

We visited Maki Soba Shibuya store near the intersection of Miyamasuzaka in Shibuya to have a drink at a soba restaurant. First, we ordered some highballs and some snacks, then moved on to the soba. It's nice to have a relaxing drink at a soba restaurant once in a while. Thank you for the meal.

A shop located at the Miyamasaka intersection in front of Shibuya Station. It's an izakaya, so there are a lot of young people and drunk customers. The menu variety is decent. The soba broth is a bit sweet but delicious without any sharpness. The soba noodles are slightly thick, like country-style soba. It's made with 80% buckwheat flour, so it has a good chewy texture, but the flavor of the soba is somewhat weak. The condiments are just average. It was disappointing that there was no soba-yu (hot soba water).

Eating at a soba restaurant is the best! This place is located right by the Miyamasuzaka intersection in Shibuya. Ordering drinks, appetizers, and finishing with soba was delicious! The soba noodles are thickly cut with a satisfying chewiness. The photo shows two servings, but you can easily finish it quickly. As for the appetizer, the octopus was delicious! It's a great place for casual drinking in Shibuya without a high threshold.

Even though it was during the period of preventing the spread of COVID-19, I visited for a second round as they are open until 5 am. I entered after 9 pm and the restaurant was full and lively. The drinks and dishes were served quickly considering the number of customers, which was impressive. I ordered all the recommended items by the staff, and they were all delicious. I would like to visit again.

In my memory, this is the second time I have dined alone this year. I believe the first time was in the midst of the pandemic, at a yakitori specialty restaurant in Naka-Meguro, and this time it was at "Maki" in Shibuya. The dishes I had were quite good. The yakitori used tender chicken meat and the asparagus was delicious. I also had a refreshing tomato highball, which I highly recommend. The simmered beef tendons were also tasty. For the finale, I thought I should have gone for cold soba instead of the tempura soba, considering my body. However, I found the macaroni salad and tempura soba appetizer priced at 429 yen a bit expensive. Thank you for the meal.

I visited for a casual drink at a second party. I didn't try the soba noodles (a little regretful), but the potato salad was delicious and highly recommended. I felt like I could eat it endlessly. The staff were polite and quick, which left a good impression.

It must be popular among young people... It was very crowded. Everything was delicious.

Near Shibuya Station, convenient for the way back as well. It's an izakaya, but the food was surprisingly delicious!

Three of us went for drinks. After sitting down for a while, we noticed a strange smell. The people next to us also sniffed and agreed that it smelled like a wet rag. We couldn't tell if it was from the wet towel or a cup, or coming from somewhere in our seating area. The people sitting across from us said they didn't smell anything, so it wasn't a problem throughout the whole restaurant. The food was average, typical of a regular drinking spot. We tried the house sake, but it wasn't very tasty, it felt like something you'd have at home without much care. The soba noodles were okay, not particularly delicious, but decent for soba you can find in Shibuya.

There is a late-night soba izakaya in Shibuya that serves slightly thicker soba noodles as their specialty. I always find myself craving their soba suddenly and end up visiting quite often. It's great that they are open late and serve alcohol.

A soba restaurant located near Shibuya Station, just a short walk towards Omotesando Station. I have visited this place several times, and if I remember correctly, I have never ordered soba here. I have always used it as an izakaya. The customer service and food are not particularly impressive, but I hold this place in high regard. It offers delicious food at a reasonable price, in a clean environment, with stress-free service. Such normal, stress-free service is hard to come by. Maybe my standards are high, but finding a place that offers delicious food and drinks, like sake, without any hassle is rare. If I were to highlight a dish, I would say that their potato salad is probably the best in Shibuya. I will definitely visit again.
