Beef tongue 3 kinds set 2800 yen, white cutlet single item 1000 yen. I've been here many times because it's a chain, but I'll post this time. In my opinion, thick-sliced white tongue is better than white tongue = red tongue. I tried white cutlet for the first time, and it was delicious. The coating is light like tempura, and the meat is tender. It's good to eat with salt.

For today's lunch, I went to Negishi for the first time in a while. Instead of the usual Negishi set, I ordered the Shirotan set. It had thick slices of delicious white tongue and I could adjust the grated yam while getting free refills of barley rice. The service from the staff was also great, making it a luxurious and satisfying lunch experience.

Tan is a restaurant where I overcame a misunderstanding that I didn't like it. When I traveled before, I happened to stop by. At that time, I thought, "Hmm, I don't think I can eat tan, what should I do?" I decided to order it anyway, and when I tasted it, I was like, "Wow, it's delicious!" I had no idea! It was a day that changed my food history. 😄❤️

I felt like eating beef tongue and barley rice set meal for the first time in a long time, so I went to "Negishi" in Ueno after 4-5 years. I ordered the "Shiro Tan Set Meal" that I always used to eat here. I was surprised that the price had exceeded 2500 yen! The taste is still the same as before, with tender beef tongue, barley rice, and grated yam that go well together and taste delicious! The beef tail soup and pickles are also tasty. It's just too bad that the price has gone up quite a bit. Well, I guess it can't be helped in these times...

A new employee who had never been to Negishi in Tokyo was taken there by their colleagues. Despite it being past 12 o'clock, they were able to quickly find a seat by the window overlooking the station. They were tempted by the words and picture of the white pork cutlet, so they decided to try it. The new employee ordered a classic menu item, but also tried a piece of the pork cutlet and praised its tenderness and deliciousness. It was their first time trying tonkatsu at Negishi, and although it was small, the meat was tender and quite tasty.

I went to eat the white cutlet that is only available at the store. I arrived around 1 pm on Saturday and there were about 3 groups waiting in line. You have to write your name and wait, but the space was too narrow and several groups gave up because they couldn't get off the elevator. I think it would be better to have a machine on the first floor that shows the number of people waiting. The white cutlet was refreshing and very delicious! I usually avoid fried foods for lunch because they can cause indigestion, but I finished this one easily! It might be a bit small for men, but you can adjust by getting extra rice, which is nice. I also liked that you could change the flavor with salt, sauce, lemon, etc. Personally, I wanted to get seconds of the salad dressing because it was so good. This is definitely worth eating again!! I will definitely eat it again.

Visited in late December 2022 after taking a walk in Ueno Park. The restaurant was right by the elevator as soon as we got off. They didn't have a children's lunch menu, but they offered a free kids' meal. We ordered the Marune Set for me and my husband, which included thinly sliced and slightly thicker beef tongue. They were able to cut it for our child to eat. The rice portion was quite generous, but the grated yam made it easy to eat. The pickles served as a palate cleanser, which was perfect. The beef tongue was tender and our son was able to eat some. The curry was not too spicy, and our child enjoyed the soft chunks of beef inside. My husband really liked the beef tongue. It's a chain restaurant, so we hope to visit another location again.

I was indecisive about whether to go to the store on the B1 floor or the 2nd floor of the same building. I ended up choosing the 2nd floor and was able to get in right away on a weekday afternoon. They now offer the option to order just one piece of meat, and the menu has expanded, giving more choices for ordering. It was delicious! (*^_^*)

Today, I had an early dinner at the famous beef tongue chain restaurant "Negishi." I went to the Ueno store, which is located on the second floor just across the main street from Ueno Station (photo 1). I arrived a little before 4 pm and the restaurant was empty. I asked the staff at the entrance if I could use the GOTO EAT meal vouchers, and they said yes. I was seated at a spacious table for four. I ordered the Steak Set (¥1,750) which looked very appetizing on the menu. The rice set arrived in about 3 minutes, followed by the main steak dish a few minutes later (photo 2). The steak looked thinner than in the menu photo, but that's typical. The rice was barley rice and I had seconds. There was plenty of grated yam to go with the healthy barley rice. I thought it was a great set menu where you can eat a satisfying amount of steak, your favorite grated yam, and healthy barley rice. Thank you for the meal. I am completely satisfied.

So, I was only eating beef tongue, but beef tongue is expensive, so this time I tried the mischievous set. There's also pork and other things. The spicy one was really spicy and I had to quickly eat some rice, but the rice is free for seconds (yay!)

I suddenly felt like eating beef tongue and visited Negishi-san. I was happy that I could enter without waiting like before. I can't eat much myself, but my colleague had a lot of refills of barley rice because it was unlimited. The soup with meat in it is amazing. It's a chain restaurant, but you can enjoy authentic beef tongue here. It's a satisfying lunch as a luxury for the common people. I always order the same menu when I come to Negishi-san, so next time I will try a new menu.

I tried to visit Negishi at Sakura Terrace in Ueno, but there was a long wait, so I decided to go to the Ueno Ekimae store next to Marui instead. When I went up to the second floor, it was crowded but I managed to get in smoothly. I ordered the Namaru Nae set for 1300 yen, which was a special deal for their 40th anniversary. It comes with both white tongue and red tongue. The food arrived soon after. The ox tail soup had a strong green onion flavor, which was a bit disappointing. It should have been more delicious. The pickles were very tasty. The rice was barley rice with grated yam and was very delicious. The red tongue, named Ganko-chan, was indeed tough as the name suggests. It was too chewy. The white tongue had a good flavor but was a bit tough. I prefer softer meat, so it was a bit disappointing. Thank you for the meal.

I decided to grab a bite to eat before getting on the Shinkansen. I found a restaurant near Ueno Station called Ueno Hirokoji-guchi, located in a building across a major street from the station. I opted for the second floor for a better view of the city. I was seated at the counter and had a clear view of Ueno Station through the large windows. It was before 6 pm and there were a few other customers in the restaurant. I chose the "Negishi Set (¥1450)", which included barley rice, grated yam, tail soup, and pickles. The beef tongue had a good thickness and was juicy with just the right amount of salt. Mixing the grated yam with the rice was delightful. I enjoyed the beef tongue, grated yam, soup, and rice in rotation. I even asked for a second helping of barley rice and left the restaurant feeling satisfied. It was a delicious meal.

For example... when you go to a chain store, you may notice a difference in service compared to other stores you have been to before. Since the taste of the food is similar in chain stores, the service becomes the memorable factor and ultimately shapes the image of that store. Chain stores are often judged based on this. That's why many people hesitate to enter certain chain stores where there may be a noticeable difference in service and hospitality. In that sense, Negishi is amazing. There is never a "tired employee" there. The smile, the greeting, the tea refill - everything is done smoothly. My history with Negishi is from Shinjuku to Yokohama, and this time in Ueno, I walked in without any hesitation. It made me realize once again how important employee training is. Ueno Station Front Uenishi, located in front of Ueno Station, has two floors - a basement and a second floor. I always go to the second floor. Sometimes I crave Uenishi's beef tongue. The combination of beef tongue and grated yam rice is excellent. On this day, I didn't want to get too full, so I chose the white tongue set. It's delicious. Uenishi's staff is perfect in their service. The timing of greetings, refilling tea, everything is wonderful.

During a regular lunchtime, I visited a restaurant located in front of Ueno Station. I was seated at the counter, browsed the menu for a while, and decided to order the Triple Set lunch for 1,000 yen, which consisted of beef loin, pork loin, and spicy pork slices. I also ordered the Mini Ganko-chan for 400 yen since it was a beef tongue restaurant. The beef tongue was grilled right in front of me and arrived in about 10 minutes. The Triple Set included two pieces of beef loin, two pieces of pork loin, and two pieces of spicy pork slices. The pork had a nice sweetness and was reasonably tender. As for the beef, I found that it was better to grill it myself to achieve the perfect doneness. The Mini Ganko-chan was thinly sliced, as indicated in the menu. Personally, I prefer thicker slices of beef tongue, so I was a bit disappointed. However, since the menu also offers thick-cut beef tongue, I would like to try that next time. The refillable barley rice was a nice touch, and I enjoyed it with grated yam. Overall, it was a satisfying meal!

Went to the art museum with a friend. Before that, we got a temple stamp at the station next door, and we felt a bit hungry. We ordered a small amount of food since we had plans for another meal later. It had been a while since I had beef tongue, and it was delicious. The grated yam rice was also good. One serving was just enough. It was a good idea to order a small amount since we still have more food to eat later (laughs). Thank you for the meal. The restaurant is located in a building straight ahead from the central ticket gate at Ueno Station, so it's easy to find.

When I was a child, I couldn't eat various parts of yakiniku like I can now. I feel that way sometimes while eating yakiniku. I think there was beef tongue back then, but it wasn't as popular. I wonder if it was Negishiya that made beef tongue a casual lunch option or something you can eat alone on a national level. I remember waiting in line back in the day. The taste hasn't changed! I love the oxtail soup. And that spicy one! Can't stop eating rice. And the grated yam! Can't stop eating rice. Oh, of course, beef tongue too!笑

Dinner set for only 1000 yen!! It was a great deal and delicious. A friend recommended me to stop by when I went to Ueno, and I was skeptical at first, but it was really good!! I've visited Ueno a few times before, but it was my first time trying this place! I will definitely go back again.
