In conclusion, it was so amazing that I almost didn't want to share to prevent it from getting more crowded (lol), but I will share my excitement by writing! The shop is not very spacious, but the seating is well spaced out, so it doesn't feel cramped. The staff provides minimal service, allowing you to relax quietly. The menu includes matcha sweets like warabi mochi, soft serve ice cream, parfaits, traditional sweets like anmitsu, and perfect for the current season, shaved ice. They also offer the shop's special tea and meal menu. The dishes I tried this time: **Inaniwa Kitsune Sansai Udon and Rice Set ¥1200** It took a bit of time for the order to arrive, but the elegant presentation on the tray was impressive. The broth was clear and gentle in flavor. The Inaniwa udon was thin and had a good firmness without the typical slippery texture, making it easy to eat. The large serving for just +¥100 was satisfying, filled the bowl with udon, and had a good amount of volume. The highlight was the kitsune (fried tofu), which was sweet and rich in flavor, different from the usual simmered style. The rice and pickles were also delicate and gentle in flavor. Although it was a bit firm, pouring the udon broth over it made it like a tea-soaked rice, which was excellent. **Matcha Soft Serve Ice Cream** Matcha soft serve with black honey, kinako (toasted soybean flour), and a senbei (rice cracker) on the side. I tried a bite of what my companion ordered, and it made me instantly happy! The matcha was rich, with a balance of bitterness and sweetness, smoothly melting with a refreshing aftertaste. The senbei was crispy and complemented the ice cream well. **Uji Kanjikoku Shaved Ice Mini Size** Matcha condensed milk shaved ice with red bean paste and shiratama (glutinous rice balls) on top. Incredibly fluffy. It disappears in your mouth as soon as you take a bite (lol). Unlike the crunchy ice you would expect, this shaved ice was a different texture. The matcha was rich, and the balance with the sweet condensed milk was exquisite! Despite being labeled as "mini size," it was satisfying in both taste and portion. Both were worth more than ¥300 in taste and value. It overturned the preconception that such shops are delicious but expensive or have small portions. I was completely satisfied with the taste, portion, and price. As I write about the matcha soft serve and shaved ice, I already want to eat them again (lol).

My wife wanted to eat melon shaved ice, so we came here. I had the matcha cream anmitsu. The melon whole shaved ice was amazing. I had a bit of it, and the melon was really good. It was around 3:00 pm on a weekday. There were a few empty seats as it was a weekday. I ordered the Uji Kinjou (1350 yen). I was surprised by the size when I saw the shaved ice of the customer next to me and they were amazed by it. It was huge! It came with three pieces of mochi, sweet red bean paste, matcha, and condensed milk. However, bigger is not always better. If it was about half the size, I would have been more satisfied. I enjoyed it with the complimentary hojicha to warm up, but my body was completely chilled. I would like to try something different in a different season.

I went to try high-end shaved ice for the first time. It was close to early evening on a weekday, so I was able to enter without much of a wait. I chose the peach flavor (1600 yen). On weekdays, warm roasted green tea is included for free. The peaches on top were in syrup, with yogurt sauce and honey drizzled on them (I think). It had a refreshing sweetness and was delicious. Considering the warm tea included at this price, I thought it was reasonable. (On weekends, if you order tea for an additional cost, it might be a bit pricey.)

They were completely different in taste, beautifully presented, and very generous in portion. And they were delicious! The shop pays attention to the quality of ingredients, so you can trust them. The fruit shaved ice is a bit more expensive at around 400 yen, but it's still more reasonable compared to the trendy chemical-filled shaved ice out there. I'm glad I didn't settle for a random chain store - this shop was very satisfying and had a high level of quality.

Overall, it was a delightful experience, and I would love to visit the atmospheric Ginza store as well.

Ginza Fukurokujyu (Fukurokuju) Tobu Ikebukuro Store I was invited by a friend to meet up at this restaurant because they wanted to eat a delicious matcha parfait. The location is Plaza Building 2F, 11th floor of Tobu Department Store Ikebukuro. I was a bit lost, but the staff at Tobu Department Store kindly guided me to Fukurokujyu. The staff at Fukurokujyu were also very polite, and it turned out to be a wonderful dessert time. Thank you very much. As expected, department stores are different. The restaurant's name is written in splendid letters on a large curtain, making it easy to spot. I had my eye on the matcha parfait for ¥1,270. Surprisingly, my friend got the date wrong and didn't show up (it happens sometimes, it's okay). But I still wanted to enjoy the parfait alone. The top of the parfait glass is adorned with a monaka, and there are chestnuts, shiratama, matcha shiratama, handmade warabi mochi, and yomogi mochi with red beans. Inside, there's a combination of crispy senbei, shiratama, red beans, matcha ice cream, and two types of warabi mochi (matcha and brown sugar). First of all, the richness of the matcha ice cream was shocking. I've never had such a rich and intense matcha ice cream before! It's even more intense than a regular matcha drink! The collaboration with black honey, which mellows out the characteristic bitterness of matcha, is amazing. The senbei is incredibly crispy and crunchy, and it tastes delicious when eaten with the matcha ice cream. The white shiratama is soft and melts in your mouth, with a nice chewy texture. And the warabi mochi is smooth and soft, with a fresh and bouncy texture. I don't know if I'm using the right words, but it feels like it's really fresh and has a good elasticity. I particularly liked the gentle sweetness of the brown sugar warabi mochi. Japanese sweets have a nostalgic and comforting feel, don't you think? I get so entranced by them. This dish allows you to fully enjoy the true flavor and richness of matcha. If you love matcha, I recommend trying this intense matcha experience!

I found my way easily to this place within Tobu department store. There were a decent number of seats available so I didn't have to wait to be seated. The menu had a variety of options like warabi mochi and anmitsu, but I chose the peach shaved ice. It was quite a generous portion, and for a moment I regretted not getting the half size, but the shaved ice was filled with plenty of peach chunks and the syrup had a strong peach flavor, so I enjoyed it until the last bite. As it approached snack time, the place started to get crowded, so it might be a good idea to go a little earlier.

After lunch tea! While saying that, I ordered a sweet treat! Of course, I chose the strawberry ice. I ordered the half size, but it was quite large.
