デイルス・マイビス
Located near Hachioji Station North Exit, this sushi restaurant has been established since the 15th year of the Meiji era. It seems to be the main branch of Sushitadashi, which has several stores in the Hachioji area. The restaurant also serves traditional Japanese cuisine and has a slightly upscale atmosphere. The first floor only has a counter, and guests are required to take off their shoes and wear slippers when entering. Although I usually like chirashi sushi for lunch, this restaurant does not offer it on their lunch menu. Therefore, I opted for the "10-piece nigiri sushi, recommended dish, miso soup" set for 1050 yen. Another lunch option includes "one roll, one wasabi seaweed roll, two tamago, two inari sushi, recommended dish, miso soup" for the same price, which is quite unique. The nigiri sushi includes marinated tuna, whitebait, gizzard shad, simmered scallop, shrimp, squid, nameko mushroom gunkan, tamago, inari sushi, and two types of rolls. The presentation of the sushi is colorful and beautiful, with the inari sushi and tamago at the front showcasing the establishment's long history. In particular, the inari sushi has a perfect balance of sweetness and juiciness, making it delicious. They can also be purchased as souvenirs for 100 yen each, which seems to be a specialty of the restaurant. The rice in the sushi is small and light, making it easier to pick up with your hands rather than chopsticks. The marinated tuna and shrimp were especially delicious. The nameko mushroom gunkan was also a unique and tasty choice. The recommended dish is a pumpkin dish that is mashed and resembles a pudding. It is not too sweet and has a delightful texture. The miso soup is made from the broth of sweet shrimp heads, adding a rich flavor. Both the sushi and dishes are intricately prepared, showcasing the expertise of this long-standing establishment. It makes you want to enjoy them with a drink in hand (laughs).
