I had a satisfying lunch with a hearty katsudon. The slightly sweet sauce was just to my liking. It was delicious. I want to go back again since it's close to my workplace.

I had the special lunch set which included top sirloin for 1,000 yen. It came with rice, cabbage, and miso soup that you could refill. The meat had a decent thickness and was tender and delicious. Personally, I would have preferred a bit more fat on the top sirloin. The rice was quite firm, almost too firm for my liking. The cabbage was nicely sliced and tasty. The customer next to me had five helpings of cabbage. Overall, I think the cost performance is quite high. It was a bit late when I went, but the restaurant was still busy with many female customers. The atmosphere was calm and I was able to relax.

I visited for lunch on a regular day. It was an early lunch, but there were mostly women customers. I ordered the top loin cutlet set for 1000 yen. During lunchtime, there was a special discount, so it was 1150 yen reduced to 1000 yen. You can get extra rice and cabbage. The tonkatsu was about 1cm thick and quite satisfying. It would have been better if it had a bit more fat. The special sauce at this restaurant was too thick for my liking.

■ "Tonkatsu Ise Shinjuku Nomura Building" Lunch Visit The restaurant is located about a 6-minute walk from Nishi-Shinjuku Station, on the 2nd basement floor of the Shinjuku Nomura Building. I visited with my wife around 1:30 pm on a Saturday. The place was quite crowded, so we waited for about 5 minutes at the entrance before being seated. In addition to the regular lunch menu, they also offer limited menu items on weekends and holidays. I ordered the limited menu item "Thick Cut Loin Cutlet Set Meal" while my wife ordered the regular menu item "Asparagus-Wrapped Pork Rolls and Loin Combo Set Meal." Rice and cabbage are free for refills. I tried the "Thick Cut Loin Cutlet Set Meal" and it arrived about 15 minutes after ordering. The pork cutlet was tender and easy to chew, with a crispy coating that complemented the juicy meat. It tasted even better with the sauce and mustard provided, and the rice just kept disappearing. The cabbage, cold tofu, and pickles on the side were a refreshing accompaniment that helped balance out the richness of the tonkatsu. I thoroughly enjoyed the limited "Thick Cut Loin Cutlet Set Meal." I look forward to trying the "Katsudon" or "Filet Cutlet Set Meal" next time. Thank you for the delicious meal! I visited during the company's lunch break. I had the shrimp fry and pork loin combo set meal. It was delicious with a crispy texture. You can also get refills of cabbage and rice, so it's great for big eaters. The staff was friendly, and I would like to visit again for lunch.

I used it for lunch. - Hire tonkatsu set meal 880 yen The tonkatsu is tender and well-prepared, with a crispy coating that was delicious. It comes with pickles and miso soup with clams as side dishes. Rice and cabbage are free for refills, which is nice. It's a great place to enjoy delicious tonkatsu at a reasonable price for lunch.

Tonkatsu Ise at Tocho-mae Station is a must-try for affordable and decently tasty tonkatsu. Located on the 29th floor restaurant street, the quality is exceptional for the price. It's highly recommended, especially for enjoying the view of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building while dining leisurely. The Rosu (pork loin) and Ebi (shrimp) set is particularly recommended. #TonkatsuIse #Tocho-maeGourmet #Tocho-maeLunch

When I looked around casually during work, I found myself in Nishi-Shinjuku. I love tonkatsu and Ramen Jiro too much, but I have a rule that I won't eat them unless I'm invited because I don't want to gain weight. Today, I was invited! Yay! I usually go to the Hashiya building, but I've always been curious about this tonkatsu restaurant next door that always has a long line. I've been eyeing it for a while, but since I don't eat unless I'm invited, I've been holding back. It turned out to be a place where I wouldn't come on my own, but would come if invited again. I ordered the thick-cut pork cutlet, but it was a bit dry. The prices are cheap, so maybe that's the kind of quality to expect. Looking at the reviews, it seems like the pork cutlet bowl is cheap and delicious, so if I come back someday, I might try that. Just a little impression based on the photos.

During the winter season, they offer a set that includes limited edition fried oysters. When it comes to tonkatsu, it used to be all about the loin, but recently they have switched to fillet to reduce excessive fat intake. In this restaurant, they offer the same amount of loin and fillet, but differentiate the prices. Since fillet is often perceived as having less quantity, it is nice to be able to eat the same amount as loin even if the price is higher. Both the tonkatsu and fried oysters have a thick coating, but I think they are delicious for the price.

■Special Roast Pork Cutlet Bowl ¥900 When you've had a lot of noodles and start craving rice, but lunchtime is too short, head over to the convenient Shinomura Building next door. I ordered the pork cutlet bowl that caught my eye in the reviews. It was a classic pork cutlet bowl. The size and thickness of the cutlet, the richness of the egg, the amount of onions, and the flavor of the broth were all classic. It was a perfectly balanced dish. Next time, I'll try the pork cutlet. Thank you for the meal.

This Tokyo trip is actually half business. It's like combining a business trip with paid leave. Today, we have a presentation in Shinjuku with two young colleagues. After registering for the presentation, we head out for lunch. The main presenter this time is Chapi. When asked what he wants to eat, he says, "How about some tonkatsu here!" He seems really fired up (laughs). So, we visit "Tonkatsu Ise Shinjuku Nomura Building" for lunch. It's just before noon, but the restaurant is quite busy. We are seated at a table that just opened up. Looking around, everyone is enjoying hearty tonkatsu meals. Looks delicious! Now, let's order. I go for the fillet tonkatsu set with grated radish, while the two young colleagues opt for the tonkatsu rice bowl to show their determination. After about 15 minutes of waiting, our orders start arriving. The two tonkatsu rice bowls have some runny egg on top, looking appetizing. Maybe I should have gone for the rice bowl too... Nevertheless, any regrets disappear as I taste the fillet tonkatsu with grated radish. The crispy sound as I bite into the fillet tonkatsu, combined with the juicy meat and fresh radish, creates a delicious explosion in my mouth. The refreshing taste of ponzu and radish nicely balances out the richness, making it a satisfying tonkatsu lunch even for an old man like me. The tonkatsu rice bowl duo is also happily devouring their meals. It seems like they are well-prepared too... (laughs) Now, with our stomachs filled, let's do our best in the presentation!

On the last day of January 2023, while watching the morning wide show, I saw Tenkichi from Nomura Building. It reminded me of fried shrimp raft, so I headed there immediately. I arrived at 11:30, 30 minutes after opening. I underestimated the situation. A salaryman coming down from the building exclaimed in unison, "Huh!? What happened?" A magnificent long line. This time, I'll pass. (laughs) I quickly changed course to the shop across the street. Upon entering, I was told, "We're full. Please wait for a seat." I was the first in line to wait. In other words, the first person in the second round. I was seated immediately. Inside the restaurant, I could catch a glimpse of the order in which the first round of customers was seated. There were also solo diners at the four-seater tables. I sat at a table where a solo diner had just left and looked at the menu. The tea served was delicious! The hot tea was delightful. You can't go to a tonkatsu restaurant without it! The "slightly tipsy set" that caught my eye at the entrance while waiting seemed unlikely. (laughs) Considering the lunchtime crowd, it seemed impossible... Tonkatsu was my top choice, and the "asparagus wrapped in meat and pork loin set" for 1,100 yen seemed like a safe bet. Ordering beer seemed like a risky move. In the end, it was the right decision. (laughs) I was full without asking for extra rice or cabbage. The order arrived in about 10 minutes. It seemed to be ordered at the same time as the first round, avoiding encountering the waiting line. The serving was unexpectedly generous. Both the tonkatsu and the side dish of asparagus wrapped in meat were main dishes. Moreover, the asparagus wrapped in meat was one and a half thick rolls. They placed it on a grill, so it avoided the cabbage water. The cabbage was also well drained, so you could even do without the grill. You can see the restaurant's stance. There are two types of sauce on the table, in addition to soy mustard dressing. They do a great job. Changing them with each bite, including the cabbage, is also allowed. It must have been fun with the "slightly tipsy set." (laughs) The high-quality pork loin cutlet had no fat and was a thick slice of exquisite taste. The asparagus wrapped in meat was two thick rolls of asparagus wrapped in meat. It was very satisfying, and I was grateful for the small rice bowl. (Opinions may vary. laughs) The slightly warm clam soup at the beginning was disappointing because I had high expectations, but the taste was excellent. It was a welcome presence to drink in the middle or at the end. Pickled radish for chopstick rest. A masterpiece that you can tell just by looking at the color and luster. I want to drink with this. (laughs) Today's lunch ended without beer, but I was very satisfied. I noticed the line in front of the store when I was poured a delicious tea, and I enjoyed drinking it all. The bill. I'll come back again.

I visited a restaurant where you can eat crispy tonkatsu. I went for lunch and noticed that there were mostly male customers. One of my colleagues really likes the tonkatsu here and comes a few times a month. They have days when you can get the hirekatsu cheaper for lunch. On those days, I always order the hirekatsu. They used to have two types of homemade sauce, but when I visited in April, they only had one. I was a bit disappointed because I liked the homemade sauce. You can get unlimited rice and cabbage, and there is dressing for the cabbage. The miso soup has clams in it and is delicious. I will definitely go back!

Tonkatsu Ise Shinjuku Nomura Building store Located in the basement restaurant floor of Shinjuku Nomura Building, this tonkatsu restaurant recently resumed dinner service in addition to lunch during the pandemic. I ordered the thick-cut pork loin set. The thick cut means it takes a bit of time to be served, but not too long. The balance of fat and lean meat is good, and they provide condiments like ground sesame and seasoning, making it easy to eat as much as you want. The rice is also of high quality, with individual grains standing out. Among tonkatsu restaurants at this price range, this one is quite impressive. In the evenings, you can see groups of office workers enjoying beer and food, creating a lively atmosphere. Thank you for the meal. I had been curious about it for a while, but I couldn't bring myself to go towards the Nishiguchi Building area for some reason. Today, I had a rare errand near the west exit and decided to have lunch in Ise! I arrived in Shinjuku earlier than expected. It was surprisingly quiet, probably because it was a Saturday. As it approached noon, a few people started to gather and there was a bit of liveliness. Despite being before opening hours, the staff kindly asked us to wait inside. The weekend special offer of 100 yen off the thick cut pork cutlet set was a pleasant surprise! I ordered the thick cut pork cutlet set. The inside of the restaurant was very clean and the staff's service was excellent. Soon, the thick cut pork cutlet set arrived! The pork cutlet had a great presence and was very voluminous at 170g. Let's dig in! The crispy texture of the meat, the juiciness, it was satisfying tonkatsu. The rice, miso soup, pickled cabbage, cold tofu - the supporting roles did not overshadow the pork cutlet, it was a nice balance! I happily devoured the meal and finished it all. It was delicious! The voluminous thick cut pork cutlet set was a power charge! Satisfied, satisfied. I ate a bit too much, I hope I don't get sleepy in the afternoon... Thanks for the meal today!

"Ise" in the basement of Shinjuku Nomura Building. There is always a line during lunchtime. Today's set meal was pork cutlet and asparagus roll. It's reasonably priced and has a basic taste without being greasy. It would be good if they replaced the acrylic board on the table soon. The bento for takeout is also popular.

In this area, there are many tonkatsu restaurants, but what makes me happy is the heartfelt service from the floor staff. Here, the hirekatsu has good oil drainage and a refined taste, but my favorite is the shrimp fry. If you order the "Shrimp and Hire Mix Set Meal," you'll get a generous portion of hirekatsu (100g) along with a shrimp fry that's 12-3cm long. The shrimp fry here uses large shrimp throughout, with a rich taste and aroma, which is delightful. The sauce includes a special thick sauce and a Japanese-style soy mustard dressing for the cabbage, which is elegant. The shredded cabbage, which changes depending on the season, has a moist and supple texture, unlike other places, and can be enjoyed with the dressing. The special thick sauce has a complex flavor with the aroma of fruits, vegetables, and various spices. With the crispy hirekatsu, plenty of cabbage, and the heartfelt service from the staff, I enjoyed my katsuryoku this afternoon.

This is a tonkatsu restaurant located on B2F of Shinjuku Nomura Building, with a cozy atmosphere. The set menu of top loin cutlet is discounted from 1,150 yen to 1,000 yen. You can have unlimited refills of white rice and cabbage, and it comes with miso soup and pickles. The cabbage is finely shredded and fresh. The quality of the meat and fat is average, but considering the price, it is satisfactory.

This is a tonkatsu specialty restaurant located in Shinjuku Nomura Building. The restaurant was established in 1978 and has been serving tonkatsu to business people in Nishi-Shinjuku for many years. They have expanded and reduced the number of branches over time, but currently have three branches in Nishi-Shinjuku. This particular branch is considered the main store. The restaurant has 11 tables for 4 people, 1 table for 2 people, and some counter seats, although they are not commonly used. The lunch menu offers a hirekatsu set for 800 yen, which is reasonably priced for Nishi-Shinjuku. Additionally, they have a special menu where you can upgrade to hirekatsu or hire tonkatsu set for 1,000 yen. I tried the Upgraded Hire Tonkatsu Set (1,250 yen → 1,000 yen) on this day. The hire meat is shaped like a stick, so it is sliced into bite-sized pieces for easy consumption. You get three pieces at this price, making it a good deal. The tonkatsu is served piping hot, which enhances the flavor. While it may not be very juicy, the meat is tender and flavorful. Hirekatsu is often considered healthier, and if you want to taste the essence of the meat, hire is the way to go. The sauce comes in two varieties, both slightly sweet with a hint of fruit and vegetables. The Worcester-style sauce has a more complex flavor profile and pairs well with the tonkatsu. Regardless of the sauce, the tonkatsu is delicious and goes well with the rice. The miso soup cannot be refilled, but you can have unlimited rice and cabbage. The pickled vegetables are refreshing, and the miso soup is made with clams and topped with green onions. The cabbage salad is dressed with a mustard-based dressing, adding a tangy kick. Overall, this tonkatsu restaurant in Nishi-Shinjuku offers a high-quality meal at a reasonable price, especially during the lunch service.

I wanted to treat myself a little, so I decided to go to Tonkatsu restaurant on this day. Since it was a Sunday, it was not crowded even during lunchtime. I ordered the thick-cut pork cutlet. They told me it would take a little time, but I was okay with that. It was served in about 10 minutes. I started eating right away. The thick cut gave it a satisfying texture. For the price of 1500 yen, I thought it was quite cheap. The crispy coating and the meat were not incredibly tender, but the tonkatsu was still delicious. I personally prefer a bit more fat in the pork loin. I had one serving each of rice and cabbage refills. Overall, I thought it was a decent meal for an occasional treat.
