■Recommended Menu◎Seafood Monja◎Sundubu Monja◎Scallop Butter, and more. This Monja-yaki restaurant recommended by friends at Gakugei University! I always crave Monja, but it had been a while since I last had it, so I was very happy! We ordered a lot, and everything was delicious, so I can't decide on just one recommendation, but the squid yakisoba and seafood dishes, as well as the hormone (offal), were all incredibly tasty. The Sundubu Monja, which was like mapo tofu, was also delicious! Of course, they also have okonomiyaki on the menu. There were many dishes we ordered that I didn't take photos of. From classic to unique dishes, you can enjoy a variety of flavors without getting bored. If you have around 6 people, you can fit in a private room and enjoy drinking together. The restaurant isn't very spacious, so it might be a good idea to make a reservation, especially on weekends. There are rumors of a renovation, so if you're interested, it's best to visit soon!

[Other] It's disappointing that both drinks and dishes are served late. Sometimes, the orders are forgotten.

Mr. Nakura's son's restaurant. Many celebrities visit and the food is decent. The concept seems to be a downtown vibe, but the value for money is not great.

Hello, this is Numao. On Saturday evening, I traveled to Tokyo where my friend's restaurant is located. It took me about 4 hours on the Tokaido Line from Hamamatsu, and then another hour to meet up with another friend. In total, it was over 5 hours round trip. The restaurant is called "Rakuraku" and it's near the Tokyu Toyoko Line Gakugeidaigaku Station. I arrived just before midnight, and I came all the way here just to visit this place. Numao's mysterious mobility (lol). When I entered the restaurant, my friend and the owner, Yanagiraku-san, welcomed me. Both of us were quite hungry as we hadn't eaten anything since lunch. We ordered bean sprouts with butter, squid with butter, two okonomiyaki, monjayaki, chorizo sausage, beef tendon stew, and yakisoba for the finale. Normally, customers cook their own food, but since it was close to closing time and the place was empty, Yanagiraku-san, who had some free time, skillfully cooked in front of us on the iron plate. Truly a pro♪( ´▽`) The okonomiyaki was especially delicious, fluffy and perfectly cooked. I highly recommend the chorizo sausage too! They adjust the seasoning at the butcher's shop, and the right amount of spiciness and juicy meat juice is amazing ( ^ω^ ) In the end, I ate too much (^◇^;) Looks like I need to adjust my weight from next week (sigh) Thank you for the meal.

At Gakugei University, there are plenty of okonomiyaki restaurants, but as far as I know, this is the only place for monjayaki. The restaurant is located just a 2-minute walk from the station on the 3rd floor of the same building as Katanashi, Gou, and others. Interestingly, this shop is produced by Kenichi Nagira, and the owner is his son. Monjayaki is generally around 1,000 yen, and there are also unique variations like Tom Yum monja. Drinks start from 350 yen, so you can eat and drink for around 3,000 yen. This place offers a casual and affordable option for monjayaki that you can easily enjoy.

This is a monjayaki restaurant located in a building across from Gusto in the Gakugei University Higashi Exit shopping street. It's about a 2-minute walk from the station. I visited at night and ordered the Mentaiko Cheese Monja, Soba Meshi, and Beef Tongue with Salt. The monja felt a bit lacking compared to monja restaurants in Tsukishima. The Soba Meshi and Beef Tongue were decent. It's a good place to visit as an extension of an izakaya, but it's best not to have high expectations for the monja. The prices are reasonable, so it's a casual monjayaki restaurant to visit.

On March 10, 2010, four adults and one child visited the restaurant at night. Three of us were visiting for the first time. When it comes to Monjayaki, it's all about mentaiko mochi cheese! We didn't hesitate to order it. It was a whole belly full, and the texture was chewy and satisfying for someone who loves fish eggs like me. The Italian Monjayaki had a tomato base with bell peppers, onions, and chopped chorizo, giving it a pizza or risotto-like taste. However, seasoning Monjayaki can be quite tricky as you have to season it yourself. In addition to that, we also ordered basil chicken, chorizo, seafood yakisoba, and anko rolls as appetizers. To be honest, they were just average. If the right conditions align, I might visit again when craving Monjayaki in the future at the Gakugeidaigaku area.

My friend came to visit from Osaka and said they wanted to eat Monja, so I heard that Rakuraku is delicious and decided to go there. It was the middle of a 3-day weekend, so the restaurant was full, but they said they would call me when a table opened up, which was convenient. As soon as we entered, there was a candy corner, and we were seated in a private room. We ordered Monja, but it seemed like we had to cook it ourselves, so I was a bit unsure. However, my friend took charge like a Monja pro and cooked it for us, which was a relief (laughs). As someone from Kansai, I had no idea how to make Monja, but the menu had instructions, so maybe the staff would teach you if you asked. You could choose various toppings for the base Monja, which was fun to create your own unique flavor. The Mentaiko Mochi Cheese Monja and Curry Monja were both delicious. This was my first time trying Monja in Tokyo, and it was so tasty that I finished it in no time. We also ordered Sobameshi, which also came out ready to eat, and it was delicious with a Kobe-style twist. Unfortunately, we didn't make it to the An Crepe, so I definitely want to go back to this restaurant. The staff were all friendly and made the experience enjoyable.

I think the okonomiyaki I had at Gakugei University was the most delicious among all the ones I've tried. And when it comes to monjayaki, the classic Mochi Mentaiko Cheese Monja is the best choice! They even taught me how to enhance the original broth with additional flavors, which really changed my perspective on monjayaki. The interior was clean, with no sticky mess on the teppan grill. I also enjoyed being able to buy dagashi snacks and toys on the side. The owner, Nagira-san, is a funny guy who taught me how to cook each ingredient for okonomiyaki, how to cook okonomiyaki itself, and how to cook monjayaki. I used to see him drinking late at night in Gakugei University, so it was a funny contrast to see him working there. The only thing that bothered me was that other staff members would bring the orders without any explanation, but overall, I was very satisfied! I plan to visit again this year.

I had been curious about this place for a while, so I visited for the first time with a colleague. The interior was filled with autographs of celebrities, showing the owner's influence. However, what matters most is the service and the taste of the food. I asked the staff for recommendations and ordered the grilled kalbi. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. The kalbi was frozen solid with salt sauce, and the bean sprouts were a bit off. This is not worth the price. And it was expensive. There was no explanation on how to cook it either. We also had yakisoba and okonomiyaki, which we had to cook ourselves. It was tiring. Well, it can't be helped. I just wish they would try a little harder. It's disrespectful to the celebrities who signed those autographs.

I feel like eating Monja-yaki... The interior of the restaurant is like a Showa-era dagashiya (traditional Japanese candy store), with various snacks and toys for sale. It has a nice atmosphere! When you enter, the first thing to order is the "Mochi Mentaiko Cheese Monja"! It's cooked on an iron griddle! The Monja here has a well-balanced flavor overall. I haven't tried it myself, but they also have creative options like Tom Yum Kung Monja on the menu! After eating Monja, you can enjoy dishes like garlic sprouts and bacon, buttered mushrooms on the iron griddle. All the appetizers are simple and go well with drinks! It's a menu for drinkers (laughs). And of course, they serve Asahi beer! Can't go wrong with that!

It seems to be a shop owned by Kenichi Nagira, who loves Tokyo's downtown area deeply. The interior of the shop is less sticky than typical okonomiyaki restaurants, and the teppan grill is kept clean. As the name suggests, there is a variety of monjayaki menu items available. One must-try dish is the "Mochi Menta Cheese Monja". It's a must-order wherever you go! The mentaiko is large and the separate cheese topping is also great. The cabbage is cut into 1cm square pieces, which makes it easy to eat with a spatula. Another recommended dish is the "Gyu Soboro Negi Monja", with a delicious combination of sweet and savory minced meat and green onions. Mixing both sauce and soy sauce for seasoning was the right choice! I would like to challenge the unique dishes like the "Tom Yum Kung Monja" next time. I will definitely visit again when I crave monjayaki.

My home's big eater boy started crying in the evening saying, "I want to eat okonomiyaki!" So, we headed to the nearest Monjayaki restaurant at Gakudai. As we strolled through the shopping street, we found a Monjayaki restaurant - perfect! The entrance had a snack corner, similar to the toy corner next to the checkout at a family restaurant. The seats were cleverly designed with storage under the table, so the smell of oil wouldn't stick to our clothes. The majority of customers were women, and we ordered the pork and cabbage okonomiyaki, plain monjayaki, and topped them with baby star noodles and cheese. The flavors were nostalgic and delicious, but the portions were a bit small. It would be great if they could either lower the prices or increase the portion size. I wanted to try the Tom Yum Kung monjayaki or the mentaiko monjayaki, but my son vetoed them because they were too spicy. Hopefully, he'll grow up soon and we can try those dishes together! It seems that many celebrities also visit this place, as it is owned by Kenichi Nagira's son. Overall, it's a good place for women to hang out or go on a date. They even have anko rolls for dessert!

When you don't feel like going all the way to Tsukishima for monjayaki, or when your child suddenly says they want monjayaki, this place is a good option. It's easy to get to and has a small candy store inside that kids will love. The monjayaki here is delicious and they have various creative options. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing, and there are articles about Nagira-san posted around the restaurant. The highlight is the anko-maki, which is like an artistic experience at the end of your monjayaki meal. If you're in the area of Gakugeidaigaku Station and craving monjayaki, I recommend this place.

When it comes to monjayaki, the mentaiko cheese version here is quite generous in portion compared to other places, perfect for sharing with a large group. The okonomiyaki here is also delicious. The dish had a lot of grated yam, giving it a fluffy texture. The drinks were also good, especially the highballs. However, the dessert, apricot roll with grated yam inside, was a bit too much for me. Personally, I would prefer it without the grated yam. Buying snacks on the way out seems to be a regular thing here. Beware of the grated yam!
