I went to Atre in Ebisu looking for souvenirs and found this place on the fourth floor called Kihachi Atre Ebisu Main Store. The theme of the store is "exquisite deliciousness". They focus on providing truly delicious items without unnecessary decorations or following trends too closely. They aim to offer high-quality and delicious products with a touch of skill and playfulness. I tried their cakes, which are priced at 600 yen or more. The Mont Blanc cake had a subtle sweetness and elegant chestnut flavor, but I wasn't sure if it was worth the 700 yen price tag. The classic strawberry shortcake was good, but I would have been more satisfied if it was priced in the 500 yen range. The Kihachi roll cake, however, was very satisfying and worth the price. Overall, if you are looking for a convenient and high-quality dessert spot near Ebisu Station, Kihachi is a good choice.

I brought chilled Prosecco, while E prepared roast pork with a unique flavor. Father T also brought a rare red wine made by monks. For dessert, we enjoyed Kihaichi's Trifle Roll and E's Hummingbird Cake. The wine from the monks is from Vinos Yamazaki, a wine shop specializing in direct imports. The shop was founded in 1913 and is known for collaborating with wineries around the world to create unique wines. The bottle we enjoyed was from the Santonora vineyard, where monks have been making wine for centuries. The Shiraz we had was biodynamic and had a gentle, slightly dry taste that paired well with the food. Kihaichi's Trifle Roll was a light and fruity dessert that was a hit with everyone. Last year, I had lunch at Beatrice and Kihaichi in Aoyama, and I look forward to visiting their terrace again this season. The greenery and golden leaves of the ginkgo trees are a sight to behold in December. I can't wait to visit Beatrice and Kihaichi's green terrace again!

In April 2023, at Ebisu Atre, I tried the cakes at KiHachi, a restaurant that was popular a couple of decades ago. KiHachi isn't as well-known nowadays, so it was nice to try their sweets after a long time. The chestnut Mont Blanc for 700 yen had a tart crust with a light cream and plenty of sweet chestnut cream topped with a large chestnut. The Caramel Opera for 627 yen had a gentle caramel cream, but I prefer desserts with alcohol. The Strawberry Fromage for 627 yen had a strawberry and berry mousse, which was delicious.

As I walked around the floor, I unexpectedly ran into kihachi✨. kihachi has been a popular shop for sweets lovers since the French and patisserie boom over 20 years ago. I have always admired the shop but never bought anything, so this time I decided to treat myself and bought a simple and delicious Gateau Chocolat. The staff kindly informed me that it contains about 1% alcohol, and their smile and attentiveness made the customer service excellent. I enjoyed it at home and it was delicious. The glossy glaze, hint of Cointreau aroma, and the way Cointreau enhanced the cream and sponge flavors made it a delightful treat. I'm glad I bought it.

One of our staff had a birthday so we decided to get a cake from a cake shop near Ebisu. We chose this place because it's convenient being directly connected to the station at Atre. There are many shops to choose from but I remember that Kihaichi's cakes were delicious so we didn't cheat and went here. We got the "Chocolate Shortcake Berry Mix" which was so good that I forgot to take a picture of the whole cake. It's sweet but not too heavy, with a nice aftertaste. Rich but not heavy, and doesn't leave you feeling bloated! The sponge cake is sweet and delicious. The strawberries add a nice balance of acidity to the sweetness. It was so rich and delicious that it was gone in no time! Overall, Kihaichi never disappoints with their delicious cakes! They look good and taste even better! There is a branch office of the ward office in front of Ebisu Station. I went there to get some family registry documents related to inheritance. Unfortunately, my foot got worse from the round trip, but I stopped by Atre near NHK to search for something on my way back. I confirmed that I could get the documents at the branch office, so I went there to pick them up. As a result, my foot got worse from the trip. I bought 3 cakes from Patisserie KIHACHI, including the seasonal peach, lemon, and regular types. They cost around 600 yen in total. Among the cakes, the Summer Lemon roll cake caught my eye with its lemon cream and lemon jam cream with lemon zest in a lemon-flavored roll cake. It's a refreshing treat for summer. The peach roll cake, made with fragrant and juicy peaches, was also delicious. The soft pink sponge cake is filled with peach, peach puree-infused Chantilly cream, and custard cream. I also tried the regular cake with a mix of strawberry, kiwi, banana, and assorted fruits, which was also very tasty. As the catchphrase says, it's delicious no matter where you start eating from. At Atre, there are more cakes available on the 3rd floor. I will try them out when I get the chance.
