I searched for a place to use the 7000 yen worth of points from the accommodation reservation site Relux because it would be a waste. Considering family circumstances and visiting my mother-in-law, I looked for a hotel in Tokyo instead of a faraway place. I wanted to try staying at a new hotel for a change. I chose a hotel with parking that wasn't too expensive. The hotel had a flashy carpet pattern that caught my eye, but the hospitality was so great that it made me want to stay there again happily. It was a hotel with free parking on flat ground. The telephone support was excellent. They even prepared two folding umbrellas because it had been raining before. In the room, they had left a pack of milk in the fridge for us to use. On the way back, they gave us a souvenir of the incense they use at the hotel. I felt warm and cozy with their thoughtful gestures. It was a hotel that had the functions of a ryokan with a Japanese aesthetic touch, or was it the other way around? Most of the guests were foreigners, but I didn't meet anyone. The hotel was fully booked, even though I thought no one was staying there. While hotels like Star○ and Tokyo have hospitality, the strong and confident hospitality there made me feel uncomfortable. This place had a gentle and warm hospitality that made me feel relaxed and comfortable. They brought breakfast to the room, and I highly recommend the Western-style breakfast with fresh vegetables and various types of bread. Recently, hotel prices in Tokyo have been rising too much, making it hard to understand, but this hotel seemed reasonably priced. For dinner, we went to a yakitori restaurant called "Torimasa" diagonally across the street, and it was satisfying. With a 12 pm check-out time, I was able to enjoy a leisurely hotel life, reading in the library and writing postcards. Now, it's time to go see my mother-in-law.

I stayed at this small luxury hotel right near Shin-Ochanomizu Station while on a business trip in Tokyo. The price is a bit high, around 50,000 yen per night. The hospitality is wonderful, with typical Japanese hospitality. The rooms are all suites, so they are spacious. However, being a two-story building in a corner of a building, there is no view, and it feels quite enclosed. Despite being a luxury hotel, there is no laundry service, and having a washing machine in the hallway is a bit inconvenient. I wanted to get my clothes cleaned because they got a bit dirty from sweat (it was August), but I ended up hand washing them and drying them with the hotel's Dyson heater. For this price, the breakfast included is not a buffet, but a Japanese set meal (not very luxurious, but has a small charm), and the timing is strict and being brought to the room is a bit awkward. If you are used to foreign or Japanese luxury hotels, you may find this Japanese-style service a bit lacking. It may also be a question of whether it is a hotel or a ryokan. The souvenirs were nice, and the bathroom in the room was wonderful, so overall it was a good stay.

I stayed at this hotel on the day I went to Tokyo Dome in September 2016! It was conveniently located right by the subway station (^_-) It was raining that day, but the female staff members were very kind and even wiped us with towels, which I appreciated. This hotel, which started as an inn over 100 years ago, was renamed "Hotel Ryumeikan Ochanomizu Main Store" and was renovated in August 2014, becoming a new building! The restaurant on the first floor is called "1899 OCHANOMIZU" and offers a variety of tea-based dishes! They have matcha beer as a service, and although it was fully booked that day, the hotel staff kindly brought it to my room for me to enjoy (#^^#) The matcha beer was my first time trying it, and it was delicious. It was easy to drink and not too strong, making it a great choice for women♡ The room had a traditional Japanese atmosphere and was spacious and comfortable (*'▽') The design concept of the guest rooms is "Tokyo-style Japanese," creating a cozy environment. The bath was made of Shigaraki ware, and the breakfast was a light Japanese-style meal called "Wanoasage," which included tea rice and side dishes. I got to choose the toppings for the tea rice and the drink in advance. I chose sansho pepper and grape juice. The drinks in the fridge were complimentary, which was a nice touch♬ When checking out, they even gave me a furoshiki, showing their kind hospitality. I was very satisfied with this hotel and would love to visit the "1899 OCHANOMIZU" restaurant on the first floor next time. Thank you for the wonderful experience (^.^)/~~~

I stayed at a newly built Japanese-style hotel in Tokyo yesterday. I usually enjoy staying at hotels and have stayed at many renowned hotels in Tokyo and Osaka. However, I recently started to care less about it. The other day, I stayed at the Mandarin Oriental where I had sushi, which was only the second day of their opening. For me, hotels are like architectural designs that reflect the future of society, and I am interested in evaluating these designs. Unfortunately, I have some critical comments about this particular hotel. The staff was friendly, and the hotel was clean as it was newly built, but the room rate of ¥47,200 including breakfast is too high for the grade of the hotel. There are only 9 rooms in this hotel. If they are going to set such a high room rate, they should invest more in the interior to provide a better satisfaction. Moreover, the restaurant was booked out on the day of my stay and the next morning, so they couldn't offer their services. There are no public spaces like a large bath, bar, spa, pool, gym, or scenic views within the hotel. Additionally, the quality of the breakfast was not very high. I understand that there are various circumstances for the hotel, but they need to reconsider their pricing strategy if they want to attract repeat customers. Also, the overly firm mattress may not be appealing to the general public.
