I visited on a Saturday. It was my second visit, and I remember it being delicious last time as well. I think it's a good value for money restaurant. You can easily enjoy eel here and also quickly visit other shops in the alley. I especially recommend the fluffy eel dish shown in the third photo (I forgot the name of the dish). You can order easily on your phone so it's convenient. I definitely want to go back. It's a restaurant that is easy to visit even if you're alone.

I visited this restaurant during lunchtime on a regular day. It is located on the 4th floor of a building that also houses Uniqlo. There are various other shops on this floor as well. When I visit eel restaurants for lunch, they often don't serve eel skewers, but this place does! I ordered the following: - Grilled eel kabayaki - Kuri kara (eel liver) - Eel liver Being able to eat eel skewers for lunch while enjoying some drinks is just the best!

Located on the 4th floor of a building with UNIQLO on the 1st floor, this is a creative eel restaurant. Eel skewers are served with various seasonings. It was not incredibly delicious, but the service from the staff was good. There is a cover charge even for soft drinks, which costs ¥380 per person.

I had some time to spare before my reservation at the restaurant, so I decided to check out "Asakusa Yokocho" which I had seen on TV before. I was drawn to the eel and ended up here. The eel, with its crispy skin and plenty of eel juice inside, was delicious. I burnt the roof of my mouth on the skin though. Surprisingly, the unlimited carrots were a hit. First visit. This time, I took on the eating challenge. The floor was bustling with energy. Even during lunchtime, the lively atmosphere felt like nighttime, with staff welcoming us with trumpets and whistles. The place was not crowded, making it a great choice for those looking to leisurely enjoy eel during lunch. I ordered the "towering eel rice bowl" which costs 2,508 yen, but when split among 3 people, it's 836 yen each, making it a reasonable price for a large portion of eel. Note that it's a one-drink minimum. The dish arrived in just 10 minutes. The eel and egg were both huge portions, almost overwhelming. The rice looked rich and salty, but it actually had a subtle sauce flavor, like rice mixed with brown rice, not just plain white rice. The rice had a hint of sauce flavor, which paired perfectly with the sweet eel and its balanced fattiness. The egg was fluffy and gently sweet, not heavy, and was easily finished. Finally, adding the soup made it feel like a satisfying tea-infused rice dish. Going with 3 people made it cost-effective and delicious, leaving us satisfied from lunch onwards. I visited Izumo Asakusa Yokocho on the 4th floor of the Rakutenchi Asakusa Building for lunch after returning to Tokyo from my hometown. I ordered the towering Unagi Tamago Don for 2280 yen, which came with a drink requirement. I asked for a cold green tea for 290 yen, and also received an appetizer for 330 yen. The dish consisted of two layers of rice mixed with sauce, topped with a thick omelette, eel kabayaki, and had an impressive visual presentation. It was a bit difficult to eat, so I temporarily transferred it to a separate plate, cut it into four pieces, and served it in a bowl. I added some flavor by sprinkling Sichuan pepper using a nutbar-style pepper mill, and enjoyed the liver and okra as a side dish. After finishing the meal, I was completely full.

Today I went to donate blood, so for lunch I had a Jumbo Unadon at Izumo in Asakusa. They opened at 12:00 and quickly became full. Most of the customers were foreigners. Some were already drinking from noon. I ordered the towering Unagi Tamadon. It came with a mountain of rice, layered with tamagoyaki and eel. The eel was a bit smaller than last time, but still delicious. The large, slightly sweet tamagoyaki is filling. The brown rice cooked in sauce is especially tasty. The miso soup was just okay. I couldn't finish all the rice, so they made me an onigiri to take home for tomorrow's lunch. The total cost was 2,508 yen including tax, with an additional charge of about 300 yen for the appetizer. It was a slightly extravagant but great value lunch. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

On a day off, I headed to Asakusa and got overwhelmed by the crowds on the approach to Senso-ji Temple, so I decided to head towards Hoppy Street. Everywhere seemed crowded even during the day, making it hard to find a place to enter. Then, a colleague told me about a building with a Uniqlo store that also had a hidden drinking district where it was less crowded. I went there and found a floor with various drinking establishments, almost like a food court. I chose a place with eel lanterns hanging outside and ordered their specialty "Kamo no Ho-yaki," which is eel cut into chunks and grilled on skewers. The outside was crispy as described on the menu. The eel was fatty and delicious, although it felt more like eating a tasty mackerel with good fat content rather than eel. The grilled skewers were also delicious. Another interesting dish was the "Nama-nira-tama," which consisted of blanched leeks with raw egg and dashi soy sauce. The staff, including the grill area, were young and friendly. Orders were mainly placed through QR codes, but they also accepted direct orders.

It was a crowded Sunday in Asakusa, and I was in the mood for some eel dishes. I decided to visit this restaurant where they had a variety of eel dishes. I had a craving for eel after a long time, so I went to Asakusa Izumo-san because I had some extra income left over. I ordered the towering eel rice bowl (tax included 2,508 yen). It was huge, weighing about 1kg. The eel was fluffy and the sauce was rich and delicious. The tamagoyaki (Japanese rolled omelette) was a bit sweet, which I liked. The rice seemed to be cooked with eel sauce, making it a firm brown color. I gave up after eating about 1/3 of it. They kindly made the remaining rice into onigiri for me to have as lunch tomorrow. Even though it was lunchtime, we were charged for otoshi (tax included 363 yen). I was the only one not drinking alcohol as everyone else was enjoying drinks in the middle of the day. As expected in Asakusa. The food was rich and very delicious. Thank you for the meal. The faucet in the restroom was designed like an oden pot.

My daughter and I tried having lunch at Asakusa Yokocho. All the restaurants were empty, so we had plenty of choices, but we were drawn to Izumo by the words "eel" and "beef tongue". We ordered: Edamame (363 yen) x2, Kinpira grilled eel sour cocktail (429 yen), Kabayaki sauce and sansho pepper flavored Kyabe-Q pickles (374 yen), Shiitake mushrooms (253 yen), Eel skin tempura (528 yen), Grilled rice balls with eel sauce (220 yen), Cheese cake grilled rice balls (275 yen), Thick-cut grilled beef tongue (1089 yen) x2, Grilled Kabano-ho with salt (605 yen) x2. The flavors were good, but the lunch was a bit expensive due to the cover charge, which may have been why the entire floor was empty even during lunchtime.

Asakusa Yokocho has seen many lively izakayas enter this year, with a neo-izakaya style interior. I wasn't expecting much in terms of taste, but it was delicious! Especially the grilled eel was so tender and surprising. I popped in for a break and ended up ordering the second picture of rice with sauce, skewers, liver stew, and other side dishes while enjoying a drink. Oh, the wood ear mushrooms with ponzu vinegar were so tasty! Drinking and eating came out to about 3,000 yen for one person. There seems to be something called Una Gyudon, so I decided to visit. I was curious about the rice cooked in yakiniku sauce. At first, I planned to just order the Una Gyudon, but then they asked, "What would you like to drink first?" Most people around me were drinking during the day. Some appetizers also came out, so I decided to have a drink. The eel skewer had thick meat and was quite delicious. It's also good to eat it with salt. The eel on top of the Una Gyudon was tastier than at izakayas. The sauce is a bit strong, so it goes well with alcohol. The rice was all in a dark brown color and delicious, but it felt different from steamed rice in a bamboo steamer. Also, if you're going to drink anyway, the donburi portion might be a bit too much. Even for a finishing dish, half would be enough. The enthusiasm and attentive service of the staff was very good. Thank you for the meal.

The shop has a lively and energetic atmosphere with drums and such. The recommended grilled eel kabayaki is a skewer made by grilling only the bones of the eel to form a cylinder, with crispy skin and very plump meat. The white grilled sour drink for eel is also very easy to drink (especially if you order the largest size, 1,500ml, the container is amazing!). The addictive bone senbei has a crunchy texture that goes well with beer. And the towering eel tamago-don that I really wanted to try at this shop (a total weight of about 1kg, with 750g of rice topped with thick grilled egg and half of an eel) has a great balance of fluffy eel kabayaki, sweet thick grilled egg, and rice soaked in plenty of sauce! *If you can't finish it, you can take it home as a souvenir. This shop is recommended for eel lovers as well as those who want to challenge the mega-sized drinks and rice bowls. Thank you for the delicious meal!

The grilled fish was delicious and fluffy, similar to white fish. I was satisfied because I wanted to eat eel. Asakusa Yokocho, which opened in Asakusa, has a trendy atmosphere like Ebisuyoko or Miyashita Park, similar to Hobo Shin. It's inside a building, so if you're tired of Hoppy Street, give it a try.

I stopped by the second restaurant! The shop is narrow but all the staff are lively and the atmosphere is great! Even though it's an izakaya, the eel is authentic!! The grilled eel with crispy skin and fluffy meat was delicious! They also have a wide variety of rice dishes, so I can fully enjoy the eel here. ✨

It was my first time trying eel in a way other than kabayaki, and it was so delicious that I couldn't stop being impressed! The most delicious dish that left a lasting impression on me was the kabano ho-yaki with salt for ¥605. It was thick, juicy, and had a rich flavor, making it the best! The liver butter (¥440) and the cheese grilled rice ball cooked in eel sauce (¥275) were also amazing. The drinks were interesting too, with eel-themed highballs and Aomori garlic sours that I couldn't imagine the taste of. Let's keep the taste a surprise until you visit! And despite eating plenty of eel, the prices were surprisingly reasonable at this eel theme park. In fact, it was so delicious that I ended up going twice in one week! I can't wait to go back again soon (laughs).

After passing through Hoppy Street in Asakusa, I found a food court in a building where UNIQLO is located, called Asakusa Yokocho, which felt like a shrine of food and festivities. I decided to try some food there, starting with an eel restaurant. The atmosphere didn't look like a typical eel restaurant, but I enjoyed dishes like grilled eel with kamo no hoshi, eel roll skewers, and bone senbei which were truly addictive.
