Arrived around 8:30 on Friday. Didn't have to wait in line. Was undecided about breakfast, whether to go to Iwamoto Q or a ramen shop, but when searching on Tabelog, found that Ootoya's breakfast menu was quite appealing, so decided to go there. However, it seems that the stores offering breakfast are limited. There were horse mackerel, grilled mackerel with salt, fried chicken, and tororo soba, all with plenty of side dishes. Various options can also be added. I chose the grilled mackerel with salt set with tororo added. I changed the rice to five-grain rice. The menu showed that it should be 590 yen tax included... but, in about 2-3 minutes, the food was served. It's nice to have such quick service for breakfast. The side dishes included hijiki, pickled radish, seaweed, grated daikon, and "kimitama". I will explain about "kimidama" later. Each dish is not incredibly delicious, but it gives a stable and tasty feeling like a hotel breakfast menu. The atmosphere is very calm compared to standing soba shops or gyudon shops, and overall, for a breakfast of just over 500 yen, it feels like a great deal. However, the service was very disappointing. There were about three instances. When ordering, I was asked, "What about the egg?" When I looked at the menu, it said you could also choose "kimidama" besides raw egg. So I asked, "What is kimidama?" and got a cold response, "It's all written on the menu." I looked at the menu but didn't understand, so I was asking. I imagined it might be a half-cooked rich-tasting yolk with dashi soy sauce poured over it. But when I chose kimidama, it was a boiled egg yolk with dashi soy sauce poured over it. When I asked if they accept ID for payment, they asked, "Where's the slip?" I didn't look hard enough, but I think the restaurant also has a fault for placing it in an obscure place. If it weren't for the kimidama incident, I wouldn't have felt anything, but because of that incident, I felt "awkward." There's one more point, but I'll refrain from detailing it.
