I discovered a striking red lantern in a narrow alley, so I decided on the third stop for my Monja Hashigo Day. The restaurant had a variety of dishes besides Monja and Okonomiyaki, so I ordered Garlic Yaki and Enoki Yaki. The Monja had a topping of meat, which I had never seen before, and the garlic was soft and enhanced the flavor of the dish. The Enoki came with bean sprouts and was refreshing with yuzu ponzu. I was a bit surprised that the Monja didn't have a strong garlic flavor, but it was still delicious and easy to eat. Overall, the prices were affordable (around 900 yen for Monja) and I highly recommend this place. I almost don't want it to become too popular because it's a hidden gem.

I didn't know there was such a lively alley in Asakusa with so many young people gathering! The shop in the midst of it all is very clean, with each table having plenty of space, and the restroom is also clean. The staff have impressive skills and made delicious food. It was really tasty!

I was able to enter the restaurant around 2 pm without waiting, but later arrivals had to wait outside. The staff cooked everything on the teppan grill, which was great. Despite being busy, they timed the food perfectly. It seems like there are many smoking-permitted restaurants in this area, which was a bit surprising.

I often go to Asakusa, but there aren't many shops that catch my personal interest in the area, so when it comes to eating, I usually stick to Asakusa. I decided to try a different restaurant for a change and ended up at a monjayaki place after realizing there are quite a few monjayaki and sushi restaurants in the area. The location is in a back alley of Asakusa's drinking district where food stalls gather. I entered without a reservation and was seated promptly. I was guided to a seat not visible from the entrance located at the back. I noticed a sign saying "VIP seat," but it didn't feel particularly VIP, maybe because celebrities occasionally visit. I quickly glanced at the menu and ordered one monjayaki and one okonomiyaki, along with a refreshing morokyu (cucumber with miso). Sometimes making monjayaki or okonomiyaki on the hot plate can feel like a hassle due to the thickness of the plate and manual work involved. The staff offered to make it for us, and I gladly accepted as I wanted to take it easy that day. The staff did a great job of cooking it just right. The okonomiyaki didn't stand out in terms of flavor, it was just okay. The monjayaki had a different dashi (broth) compared to other places, a bit on the junky side. Personally, I preferred the monjayaki. I thought the cost performance was good.

Before entering the entertainment hall, we decided to grab a bite at the nearby Taiju restaurant. We were told to order one dish per person and one drink each, which was a bit annoying. Since it was lunchtime, we didn't really want a drink, but we still crossed the threshold and ordered a mixed monjayaki, beef fried rice, oolong tea, and ginger ale. The monjayaki was cooked right in front of us by the waitress and had a good variety of ingredients, although it was a bit pricey. The beef fried rice was flavorful and oily, more suited for younger people. In the end, we felt that this type of restaurant is better for a leisurely drink, and we would have preferred a quick meal at a soba restaurant.

Watermelon cider (380), ton teki (1080), oyster butter (1500), pork and egg (880), mentaiko, mochi, and cheese monjayaki (1480), special curry corned beef monjayaki (1680), second bar hopping spot after watching horse racing~♪ Monjayaki turned out to be an expensive dish (> <) considering the tourist area prices, but I guess it can't be helped (> <) Nevertheless, the monjayaki I had after a long time was delicious~♪♪ I'll try making it at home next time ヽ(=´▽`=)ノ Personally, I really liked the fact that they had watermelon cider! It was a cider with a distinct watermelon flavor (*^^*)

I came here with a friend and ordered modestly as it was my second visit. I had negiyaki (green onion pancake) and simmered dish with beef. The simmered dish here is made with beef and it's quite tasty with a salty flavor. The negiyaki was also delicious, although it's a bit different from the ones in Kyoto. It's a type of okonomiyaki (Japanese savory pancake) with green onions. It was nice that the staff cooked it for us.

I visited this restaurant in Asakusa on New Year's Day, making a reservation in advance because I expected it to be crowded. I love their curry monjayaki, so I ordered two servings for myself and my friend. Since there were four of us, we also ordered various toppings such as cheese and baby star for the curry monjayaki. We also ordered mentaiko mochi cheese monjayaki, asparagus bacon butter, and squid butter as additional toppings. We added okonomiyaki with octopus as well. Each dish was prepared right in front of us, and they all looked delicious. The curry monjayaki was so good that I wanted to have seconds, but I resisted the temptation. The aroma of curry is just so appetizing. The mentaiko mochi cheese monjayaki had small, round mochi that melted in your mouth with plenty of mentaiko. The squid butter was served with ponzu sauce, which turned out to be a great combination. Everything was delicious, and we finished our meal in no time.

I wanted to eat monjayaki, but it was crowded in Asakusa and I couldn't find a place that was open. Finally, I found a place and ordered curry monjayaki with toppings like cheese, Baby Star noodles, and corn. It was a blissful time watching the staff make it while sipping on a bottle of Akai Star beer. There were many menu options, but I ended up getting a second serving of curry monjayaki because it was so good. The table was spacious and the atmosphere was cozy.

While strolling around Asakusa, I was invited to a shop that had just opened, so I decided to go in. The staff there cook the okonomiyaki on a hot plate for you, which is great for okonomiyaki beginners like me. I ordered the "Okiya Monja" named after the shop, and it was really delicious! Even though I ordered only two pieces, I was already very full. I had planned to continue eating around the area, but the okonomiyaki filled me up so much that I couldn't eat anything else afterwards. It was a satisfying experience enjoying the okonomiyaki and feeling full. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Sapporo Lager beer, medium-sized bottle, oyster butter mix, Monjayaki freshly cooked, and boiled Edamame - all grilled by the staff! The oysters were so delicious, with a nice firm texture! The Monjayaki was also delicious with plenty of ingredients! The restaurant seemed newly opened and the interior was clean and nice!

Located just around the corner from Asakusa Hoppy Street is a Monja-yaki restaurant! The interior of the restaurant was clean and they were taking thorough measures against COVID-19. This was my first time visiting Hoppy Street, and I noticed many charming red lantern-lit shops, all exuding a lively atmosphere. The staff were all friendly, and they cook both Monja-yaki and Okonomiyaki for you! I ordered the high-quality Ton-tekki, Monja with curry flavor, and Okonomiyaki. The Ton-tekki used premium pork, and it was delicious especially when seasoned with a touch of spice. The owner recommended wine to pair with the Monja, and it was my first time trying such a pairing, but it was delicious. I had about 3-4 glasses. Lastly, the Okonomiyaki was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, resembling a beautiful soufflé. It was delicious. On weekends, a roaming musician comes to perform, making the atmosphere inside the restaurant very enjoyable and cozy. Despite the current situation, I felt that this is a shop worth supporting. When you visit Asakusa, I highly recommend this restaurant. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

Since it's a side street, it looks like you can enter without waiting. The mentaiko mochi cheese monjayaki is recommended after all.
