I chose this restaurant because I wanted to eat fish. I was happy that they gave me 2 extra types of sashimi for the 5 kinds of sashimi platter. All the dishes were delicious and went well with the sake. The interior and seating were clean and the clientele was mostly adults, which made for a calm atmosphere.

I visited the main fish specialty store, Ikebukuro Nishiguchi, for our regular MTG (drinking party in disguise) in Ikebukuro. It was my first time, but my friend seemed to have been here many times. I was recommended the bonito tataki, but I'm not a big fan, so I opted for the recommended dishes today - abalone sashimi for 1200 yen (cheap!) and boiled snow crab for 1280 yen (so cheap!). And wow, they were both incredibly delicious! I wasn't expecting much because they were cheap, but they were really tasty. I love highballs, and they have a variety of options here. And finally, I got to see the bonito tataki that I skipped being grilled in a spectacular way, which was satisfying.

This is a seafood izakaya located at Ikebukuro West Exit! It is highly rated for its lunch satisfaction, and indeed, the volume and quality of each dish are excellent. The sashimi, grilled dishes, and fried dishes are all very satisfying. I think most of the finishing touches are done in the kitchen. There are also people drinking from lunchtime, so it's convenient!

The performance of searing bonito tataki was also interesting, so it might be fun for foreign tourists. I visited a fish izakaya that I had been curious about for a while for lunch on a weekday. The restaurant was moderately busy. I was seated at the counter right by the entrance, which wasn't the best spot as cold air kept coming in whenever people entered or exited. I ordered the set meal with simmered child turbot, which looked and tasted great with a generous portion. The seasoning was also good. The fact that rice and miso soup were free refills was wonderful. For 1200 yen, I think it was a good deal. Since the menu changes daily, I might come back again. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the izakaya "Ogyo Sogohonke Ikebukuro Nishiguchi" in JR Ikebukuro West Exit in August 2022 for the first time. This restaurant is part of the Ogyo group. Unlike other popular restaurants, the first floor has a slightly luxurious feel. The second floor has tatami seating and is closer to a casual atmosphere. The prices are a bit higher than other places, but each dish is well-prepared and delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I went to my friend's favorite fish restaurant, Sogohonten Ikebukuro Nishiguchi store! It took about 3 minutes on foot from JR Ikebukuro Station to arrive at the restaurant! It was nighttime in Ikebukuro, but since it was the beginning of the week, we were able to enter the restaurant without waiting! The "5-point sashimi platter" costs 950 yen per person (the photo shows 2 servings). Despite ordering the 5-point platter, we were served a 7-point platter, showing great kindness. The sashimi was fresh and delicious, pairing well with alcohol. It was my first time visiting, but every dish was delicious, making me want to come back again. The manager of the restaurant was very kind, remembering regular customers and providing great service. It was clear that they understood the feelings of becoming a regular customer. If you haven't been there yet, I highly recommend giving it a try!

The yellowtail with grated radish comes in a large plate, is very filling, and leaves a strong impression. It's great that they are open for lunch and late-night dining. This shop, located in Ikebukuro, is a fish specialty store with four floors. The interior is clean and beautiful, with private rooms available. They have a wide variety of drinks at a great price. The sashimi is fresh and delicious, with a platter that looks luxurious. The side dish of rapeseed blossoms was impressive and delicious. The medium fatty tuna nigiri melts in your mouth and is incredibly tasty.

I used this restaurant for the second time. The appetizer was delicious. I had ikura on top of chawanmushi. The creamy shirako ponzu that I always order when I see it on the menu was also very good, and you can tell how fresh it is. I sometimes worry about the freshness of seafood restaurants that are open from lunchtime to late at night, but this restaurant served exceptionally fresh sashimi. I will definitely come back.

I ordered a seafood salad, horse sashimi, rice set, tempura platter, and anglerfish hot pot. While the overall taste was good, the prices were a bit on the higher side for a chain restaurant. However, the standout dish was the anglerfish hot pot, which was generously filled with liver and meat, and they even roasted the liver right in front of us. This unexpected service at a chain restaurant left a great impression. I would definitely consider returning for the anglerfish hot pot, especially if I can sit at the counter and receive such attentive service. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Met up with friends for a New Year's lunch party! We said we would have a few drinks, but it turned out that most of the customers were ordering set meals since it was lunchtime. We started with some appetizers, like duck liver, and then moved on to beer and shochu highballs. We felt pretty fancy making a toast in the middle of it all. We couldn't skip the sashimi platter, so we ordered two sets of five different kinds. The sashimi was so good that we couldn't even count how many pieces there were! We also got some complimentary sushi rolls, and I couldn't resist ordering some octopus sashimi, which I love. Of course, the alcohol kept flowing. We even tried the super strong lemon sour, which was really refreshing! I found out you could get a refill, so I ordered another one. By the end of it, we were pretty tipsy, but the lunch crowd in Ikebukuro wasn't too crowded, so we had a spacious and enjoyable time. Overall, we were very satisfied with the experience! ❤️

I have visited this place more than 10 times since 2022/01/07 at 19:00♪ It's just a regular izakaya, but the beautiful interior and high-quality dishes are really wonderful! The signature dish of straw-grilled bonito, fresh sashimi platter, all the dishes are delicious, but my recommendation is the tempura and oyster fry! They are crispy and delicious♡ I didn't eat them today though ( ˙༥˙ ) haha What I ate: - Sesame tofu (appetizer) - Uni sashimi - Inca awakening - Potato fries - Karashi daikon - Rolled omelette with dashi - Highball x4 I had sushi before coming here, so I ordered less today... Uni can vary in taste depending on the day. Ikura is always delicious no matter when you eat it!! The popular dish of overflowing ikura donburi is amazing♡ The only downside is the extremely slow service, so I hope they improve on that...!! I will come back again! The Ikebukuro lunch spots I usually go to are ethnic or ramen, so I can't use them as a reference today. It's getting colder, and I've been feeling under the weather with a lingering cold. After visiting the clinic, I decided to have lunch in Ikebukuro. The restaurant had a sign that said, "You can drink from noon," so it was lively inside. I was thinking of getting the Salmon Saikyo Yaki for 1,110 yen, but since it's Christmas today, I'll go for the Matsukado Bento for 1,650 yen. The bento includes sashimi: tuna and yellowtail, fried dish: salmon fry, grilled dish: mackerel, simmered dish: bonito, small dishes: salmon roe, kelp simmered, salted fish roe. Wow, it's so luxurious! The sashimi of yellowtail and tuna has such beautiful colors. The salmon fry and grilled mackerel with salt are so delicious that I couldn't resist having seconds. There's salmon roe in the small dish, so it might be better to get extra rice. I love all the items in this bento. Since you can drink from noon, I saw a couple toasting somewhere with a drink. Today being Christmas, the department stores in Ikebukuro were bustling.

If you walk a little towards the north exit of Ikebukuro, you will come across a brightly lit up shop. Even though I didn't have a reservation, I was able to get in after a short wait. The shop has a large counter and is spacious and clean. There are also table seats, which are relaxing. They have a daily recommended menu and a grand menu, with a variety of sake, wine, and other drinks available. I was intrigued by the bonito straw-grilled dish and decided to order it. They mentioned that they grill it fresh for each customer! The crab miso had plenty of crab meat and was delicious. I ended up ordering more. The seafood salad with yuzu pepper dressing was tasty. The wagyu steak was described as lean, but it had marbling and was tender and delicious. Overall, all the dishes were delicious and satisfying. The drinks are available in 90ml and 180ml sizes, with the 90ml option being affordable at around 500 yen. They also had charcoal-grilled crab, which I didn't try this time, but it looked delicious. The shop smells amazing with various dishes being grilled inside.

I went in with the intention of having a light meal, but ended up eating quite a bit because the menu was so extensive. The sesame tofu appetizer was delicious, I couldn't resist getting seconds. I only planned on having the straw-grilled fish, but ended up ordering more. The sashimi platter was tasty overall, with a light broth that complemented the fish well. The salted bonito from the straw grill was perfectly seasoned, and even better when eaten with the accompanying salt. The small raw oysters were refreshing when squeezed with sudachi, and I look forward to enjoying them even more as winter approaches.

I visited the restaurant around 9 o'clock and it was almost full! They had a variety of fish dishes, and I had a hard time choosing between the sashimi platter and the recommended red snapper. I ended up ordering a red snapper, half sashimi and half simmered. Both were delicious, but the simmered red snapper was the winner! We also ordered crab miso grilled in the shell, abalone with butter soy sauce, sake-steamed clams, pickles, grilled bonito, and horse mackerel sushi. Next time, I want to try the thread-sail filefish with liver soy sauce. This is definitely a restaurant I want to visit again!

The restaurant is clean and the second floor has tatami seating. However, the crab was disappointing as it was quite empty. I understand it's cheap, but for a seafood-focused restaurant, I expected a better quality crab!
