I recently started using Tabelog and decided to leave a comment. I've been coming to this bar for about 10 years now. I love the atmosphere of the place. The music is not too loud, and they play nostalgic songs from the past. I usually order 2-3 drinks and some snacks, and it costs around 3,000 yen per person. I think the drinks are reasonably priced for a bar, and overall, it's good value for money. The master and the staff have been the same for a long time. When I tell them the kind of drink I want, they make it for me, and if I ask about the different types of alcohol on the shelf, they will tell me. I've discovered many songs that I like from the music playing in the bar (especially from the 70s to 90s), and I always ask the staff for the song titles. The counter has leather on the edge, which I find convenient for resting my arms. There used to be a jukebox where we could choose songs, but it broke down, and now a DJ plays music in the background. It's a quiet and moody place, "Soul Sonic Bar." The unchanged master and staff give me a strange sense of comfort (laughs). I will definitely go back again.

The bar has a unique selection of music, interesting interior design and color scheme. The owner is an amusing person, and the drinks are both delicious and reasonably priced.

It has remained unchanged for a long time. I think both the elderly and young people today can enjoy it. It's a great place to go for a drink after eating somewhere else and getting full.

I visited Bar Soul Sonic Boogie in Ebisu in January 2007. This place is quite famous, and whenever I go out for drinks, it's usually suggested by my friends rather than me. I try to go to new places each time I visit Ebisu, and it seems like everyone in Ebisu knows about this place. I usually struggle to decide on a second place to go, so end up at a standing bar, but I'll remember to suggest new places next time. On this day, I tried a Grasshopper and a Martini, which suited the atmosphere of the bar and gave me a nostalgic feeling. This was my second visit to Bar Soul Sonic Boogie in Ebisu. Last time, I enjoyed the music in the underground seating area. This time, I stopped by for a quick drink at the counter and enjoyed the music and drinks in a relaxed atmosphere. They have a jukebox where people who used to enjoy disco music (a long time ago, I think) can listen to oldies while enjoying their drinks. The bar also has a few flat-screen TVs where you can watch the World Cup matches.

I found this shop while strolling around Ebisu as authentic bars were starting to close. It is located a little off Komazawa Street, in a storefront that is relatively easy to find. When I visited around 3 o'clock, there were no other customers, but apparently they usually hold various events. They leave you alone in a good way, so it might be nice when you want to space out alone. Oh, but they do keep an eye on your drink situation and came to ask if you needed a refill. Thank you for the hospitality.

A friend who loves soul music found this highly recommended restaurant online. It is located about a 3-minute walk from Ebisu Station West Exit towards Daikanyama. It's fairly easy to find, just one street off Komazawa Street. When we arrived around 9 pm, there was only one group of customers, but soon after more and more people started coming in. It's definitely a popular spot. There are several TV monitors playing music videos constantly. The music is all soul music! For soul music lovers, being able to enjoy delicious drinks while listening to great music is a cozy and relaxing experience. It's a great place to go for a drink alone as well. I've been to a music bar before, "BAR MARTHA," located at Ebisu Station East Exit, but the atmosphere here is completely different. If you want to have a leisurely drink and chat, this place might be better.

Visited for the third time. Although not my generation, there is a nostalgic atmosphere here. There is a jukebox, and my friend put in money to play some songs. I really like this vibe. It's a place where adults gather. Everyone is sitting at the counter, enjoying their drinks. Some people come alone to enjoy their drink and music. The owner is friendly and chats with the customers at the counter. I don't know, but this calming atmosphere is really nice. In this neighborhood where shops come and go, this place has been around for a long time. It must have many regular customers.

Bar at Club "Soul Sonic Boogie" in Iikura Katamachi. Listen to 70s and 80s soul music while enjoying drinks. The customers range from older generations who experienced the music in real time to younger generations. There is a jukebox in the back of the bar where you can play two songs for 100 yen when you're in the mood. They have a great selection of classics like SOS Band, Con Funk Shun, and The Bar-Kays. The atmosphere is very wholesome as it is a street-level shop, the prices are affordable, and the drinks are delicious, so it's always bustling. Their selection of malt and bourbon is excellent, and the cocktails are not to be underestimated. I enjoyed a Frozen Kiwi Margarita while having lively conversations. It's nice that their style hasn't changed.

I have a bit of a sentimental attachment to this place. It reminds me of the small, cramped restaurant on Stars and Stripes Street rather than the current one in Iidabashi. I couldn't help but enter when I saw the SSB sign in Ebisu. It had a cool and gangster vibe, similar to a shady place. Despite the edgy atmosphere, there were a few groups of customers at the back who were loud and rowdy like in a chain izakaya. As someone who has some attachment to this place, I felt a bit lonely. After a Rum & Tonic, I tried a drink made with Demerara rum aged in a Laphroaig sherry cask, priced at over a thousand yen, so I hoped it would be good. It was decent enough. They served two halves of a strawberry as a garnish. The bill for the night was 2100 yen, so there must have been some sort of cover charge. Soul music playing in the background while enjoying drinks. Overall, it put me in a good mood.

This shop here in Roppongi is different from SSB and has a fresh feel to it. It has a bar with a counter. The interior is great with soul music playing. The music videos on the walls are nice too! I learned a lot (^_^;) When Michael Jackson's "This is it" played, I just couldn't help but cry (T_T). The clientele is mature and calm. Since it was a weekday, it wasn't too crowded and you can enjoy a peaceful drink. The atmosphere is stylish and nice. It would be even better if it was non-smoking, but I guess that's impossible for a bar (^^;;)
